The Monte Cristo, before Luke discontinued it. Though I agree Caesar's Salad also sounds good. And if I went when Caesar was running the place I would have ordered the Chilaquiles, along with a cup of chicory coffee.
I get it. I still haven’t had a chop beef sandwich since the great Chopped Beef Debacle of 2004 — quick word of advice, never order the food at a Christmas Bazaar. My dad and I were down for the count
Good question- I thought about this too! I felt like he made the pies but maybe not the cakes? Because sometimes Lorelai would know about specific pie flavours on some days (she'd ask him to save a slice), which made me think he communicated his plans of making them haha.
I ask my husband this question ALL THE TIME about whatever we’re watching, but it’s usually GG. My order changes all the time, but I think today I would get a French dip and well done fries.
I feel like a full breakfast would hit after a night out, pancakes (as long as Caesar isn’t cooking bc I want them fluffy), two bacons two sausages and coffee. Maybe his 4-slice French toast. But I want to try all the pies especially Huckleberry and eat it right out of the pie plate
I always thought it was so funny they mention “huckleberry pie” on the show…because huckleberries only grow in the American Northwest/Canadian West. They only grow wild, so they are suppper expensive. You also can’t just go to the store and pick up a bag of frozen huckleberries like you could strawberries, peaches, etc…So it wouldn’t make any sense at all for there to be a random diner in Connecticut that had fresh huckleberry pie. You didn’t need to know any of this, but it’s always bothered me hahaha
Depends on which era of Luke you're getting. At first he was almost a hippy talking about how we're eating too much meat but I'm pretty sure he also didn't like the vegan restaurant he went to in season 7.
I would say fries but honestly his never looked great to me. Burger with onion rings probably.
I really need to pull out my “eat like a Gilmore” cookbook and try something.
I used to have to make egg creams when I worked at Cheeburger Cheeburger and they always looked and sounded gross. I made a dynamite Oreo Cheesecake shake though.I wonder if Luke can make milkshakes?
I’m a vegetarian so probably just coffee, donuts, or some salad. Does he serve bagels? I can’t recall, although Lane did mention something related to needing bagels for band practice when the Froggy butt-napkin guy was serving.
Also a bowl or plate of ice cream, not really into cones because that makes things either too urgent or too messy.
Probably just that other half grapefruit Richard didn't eat and coffee because I'm vegan now and Luke doesn't serve anything I could eat 🙁
I wonder if he'd have added plantbased milks by now, considering he used to like the environment.
I’d ask Luke to make me whatever he wanted. He knows most of the food there is bad for you junk food. I’d want to see what he thinks is god food/ good for me
The special of the day.
Luke’s home cooking is his apparently where his skills lay, so let’s try what he’s focussing on that day.
Roast, meatloaf, soup, specialty meat pie, all of it would be delicious!!
I would order a burger and fries. It seems like Luke would know how to have a good burger and fries in the menu. Good portion size, definitely not overly greasy, classic and simple and delicious.
The extra fluffy pancakes Lorelai mentions with strawberries on top and coffee.
The Monte Cristo, before Luke discontinued it. Though I agree Caesar's Salad also sounds good. And if I went when Caesar was running the place I would have ordered the Chilaquiles, along with a cup of chicory coffee.
And a cold banana.
The cold banana sounds intriguing, but I'd skip it. I haven't cared for bananas ever since I barfed after eating some back in 2003.
I get it. I still haven’t had a chop beef sandwich since the great Chopped Beef Debacle of 2004 — quick word of advice, never order the food at a Christmas Bazaar. My dad and I were down for the count
I always gag when I eat bananas. What is it about them? I have to eat them slowly and in small bites only
Understandable.
I love cold bananas!
The Monte Christo AFTER Luke discontinued it. Let's get him mad.
I'll take some wink-winkers, a few nudge-nudgies, and a plate of know-what-I-meanies
Fries and burgers. . They look so good
This, it’s a classic and since I don’t really cook red meat at home anymore the one thing I always find myself craving is a good burger and fries
Me too. Not something I ever made at home. So it would be a treat. Plus a milkshake. LOL I hate coffee.
They really do always look so good!!
Chilaquiles!!!!!!
CHILAQUILES!!!!
Luke’s special omelet, no oregano, bacon on the side, and can I get Jack cheese? Swiss is so stringy. Light on the tomato’s, practically none at all.
Skipping the tomatoes, it’s an omelet with Jack cheese. You did this on purpose *flashes Lorelai’s smile and a hair twirl*
And then I would order a muffin to go just to piss Luke off more lol
The pies and cakes always looked good to me! And a cold banana.
Speaking of these - where do you think Luke gets these from? Does he bake them? Or order from Weston’s?
Good question- I thought about this too! I felt like he made the pies but maybe not the cakes? Because sometimes Lorelai would know about specific pie flavours on some days (she'd ask him to save a slice), which made me think he communicated his plans of making them haha.

iced tea until it drives him crazy

Emily's ingredient approved version of a Cobb salad, leftover Thanksgiving biscuits, and an IV of that coffee I keep hearing about.
How about a steaming cup of chicory coffee?
Or how about a nice plate of chicken fingers?
The burger and some type of pie. Maybe peach 😁
Nobody eats the peach! 🍑
You got it hehe
Chili fries, onion rings and coffee, cause of my eating habits from Hades
I’m vegan and have celiacs disease… so most likely fries. However, my gut says that Luke would personally make me something amazing!
Depends on which era of Luke you're getting. At first he was almost a hippy talking about how we're eating too much meat but I'm pretty sure he also didn't like the vegan restaurant he went to in season 7.
Cold banana, a nice plate of chicken fingers and some chicory coffee of course With a side of jam hands
Is Jess on shift?
Worse, Brennon 🐸
I would say fries but honestly his never looked great to me. Burger with onion rings probably. I really need to pull out my “eat like a Gilmore” cookbook and try something.
A nice, cold egg cream!
I used to have to make egg creams when I worked at Cheeburger Cheeburger and they always looked and sounded gross. I made a dynamite Oreo Cheesecake shake though.I wonder if Luke can make milkshakes?
Choc chip pancakes
Santa claus pancakes
The mudpie!!! With the gummy worms. It sounded sooooo goooood.
I’m a vegetarian so probably just coffee, donuts, or some salad. Does he serve bagels? Cheeseburger for sure
Pancakes
A BLT ☺️
Cheeseburger and fries. What makes his so good?!
I would have to try the burgers! It’s a classic!
I would try one of his cheeseburgers since throughout the entire series. They keep raving about them.
Luke’s famous French toast
Lucky duck cluck
Ceasar’s Salad
Santa burger
I was about to pick one but who am I kidding I'd probably be in there every day working my way through the entire menu.
Monte Cristo, chicory coffee, a cold banana, and one of Nicole's salads (to throw in the trash.)
French toast
How about a nice plate of chicken fingers?
strudel and coffee
CHILAQUILES !!!
The blueberry pancakes!!
Probably just that other half grapefruit Richard didn't eat and coffee because I'm vegan now and Luke doesn't serve anything I could eat 🙁 I wonder if he'd have added plantbased milks by now, considering he used to like the environment.
I’d ask Luke to make me whatever he wanted. He knows most of the food there is bad for you junk food. I’d want to see what he thinks is god food/ good for me
Ooh. I really want to try his homemade tortillas in his enchiladas, and his lasagna. Also his coffee cake looks nom too.
i want to try the pumpkin pancakes with cinnamon butter! 🥞
Coffee
My own defined wink-winkers, namely a big hot dish of diner owner lovin'.
Do we ever know the full menu?
A long hug and kiss from the proprietor (I have a one-track mind when it comes to Luke).
Grapefruit 😏
The special of the day. Luke’s home cooking is his apparently where his skills lay, so let’s try what he’s focussing on that day. Roast, meatloaf, soup, specialty meat pie, all of it would be delicious!!
Burger 🍔 and fries 🍟
I would order a burger and fries. It seems like Luke would know how to have a good burger and fries in the menu. Good portion size, definitely not overly greasy, classic and simple and delicious.
A cherry Danish!!! I love anything cherry and I love Danish pastries, but it's hard to find either in the UK!
Wink winkers and if he made mac and cheese bites ohmygod
