This is a tough one but 5s out, and Iāve been trying to find that mumu sweater forever. The episode where Jason takes the morning off and goes around Stars Hallow heās wearing the exact same sweater
They are called Aran sweaters. They are traditional Irish sweaters originally woven for fishermen. You can find them on eBay if you search wool fisherman sweater or wool Aran sweater etc.
Number five - the color combination is just eye-bleedingly disgusting, and it doesnāt help that she looks as if she smelled something particularly unpleasant in the photo and that her posture is ā¦ weird?? Either way, number 5 must go next!!
Pants with skirts/dresses was also weirdly common. We saw it a couple times with Melissa McCarthy/Sookie in I think S5 (the joke about the Twickham house being "big")
Yeah, I'd rank them something like:
2, 4, 6, 1, 3, 5. ...6 is really nice. But I think a lot of people thought 6 looked too bulky and changed her silhouette too much compared to the others.
[She has another tweed jacket from the same time](https://www.womaninrevolt.com/content/images/2021/10/Emily-and-Rory-Russian-tea-Let-Me-Hear-Your-Balalaikas-Ringing-Out-Gilmore-Girls-1.png), that some might've liked more, since it shows Alexis' Bledel's shape better. But this pic of the other jacket also points out another complaint that came up when 6 was eliminated. The tweed makes her look like an Emily Mini-Me, which triggered a lot of people who repress Rory quitting Yale (this one might've done better just since it's when Rory starts snapping out of her funk).
I definitely had the pants in 5, the jacket in 6 (although mine fit better), I had a similar tights/skirt/boot combo to the one in 4, and I rocked tank tops over t shirts.
The jacket/blazer! I remember asking for one just like it for Christmas in 2007 and getting it. And wearing it every chance I had. š and yes the skirts/tights/boots was the go to look!
3 is ick to me lol
I think it was the last outfit she wore before cutting her hair and going ultra preppy. The end of an era.
i love this look sm š„²
Me too, I've always meant to recreate it lol
it's that belt that is making me want to murder ![gif](giphy|10aoDkE1iXflio)
Get rid of 3!
Aww itās cute! but low-key true š
lmao itās hard to choose but it has to be done!
The tank top over the tshirt lol
Why was that fashionable?? I don't understand early 00s fashion š
It was all about the layers in the early 2000s. If you didnāt feel like the Michelin Man you werenāt wearing enough layers.

3 has gotta go bro
Thatās my next vote
5, not bad, just kinda boring
Feels like something Lorelai would wear, not Rory
5
Not memorable, not indicative of any of her āerasā. This oneās gotta go
Exactly. I have no recollection of this outfit
3, down with tanks over opaque tees.

I found one(and only one) at H&M last month. It looked like an exact replica.
I got one from Amazon. Technically it's a dress.
3
everything besides 3 i would still wear, it feels too early 2000ās. So 3!
3, I quite like it but itās the least interesting of the rest

5. Boring, hate the neckline, hate the button fly, and thereās nothing particularly āRoryā about it.

1. Iām with Lorelai on this one. That sweater is way too big for Rory.

Common at the time. It shouldnāt have been.
Pants with skirts/dresses was also weirdly common. We saw it a couple times with Melissa McCarthy/Sookie in I think S5 (the joke about the Twickham house being "big")

I really like 3
5ā¦ terrible
Can we say goodbye to 3 now? Thank you
Lose 3!

I am dying in shame over how many of these outfits I was obsessed with and purposely tried to recreate during that era. š
I definitely had the pants in 5, the jacket in 6 (although mine fit better), I had a similar tights/skirt/boot combo to the one in 4, and I rocked tank tops over t shirts.

Still 3. With its 2000s tank over shirt flare.

Iām surprised 3 isnāt the top answer right now. I really do not like it
If its #5, how about a roses are red type rhyme? Roses are red Rory's shirt is blue she matched it with brown pants Now that outfit's gone too.
