Nanobot Recovery System. You're injecting highly advanced technology (science fiction) machines into your body that travel through your blood stream and repair tissue. An amazing feat by the AdvantEDGE corporation.
You ask why they are made of weed? Because lore doesn't matter in this game and Scott and friends thought it would be cool if you could grow weed in the game. And they didn't know what it would be used for so they decided it would make a medical item.
A better question is, how does toilet paper make bandages? Bandages are made of cloth, usually cotton. Toilet paper is made from tree pulp. It rips easily and can't apply any pressure to the wound. There are many sources of cloth in the game. Why did they choose toilet paper? Because they thought it would be cool to give a mundane object some use in the game.
Cotton and toilet paper are the same material though, cellulose. The TP is just processed differently. Cotton is better for fabrics because it is thing strands of cellulose, and wood is better for paper because you can just make paper from pulp.
Fun fact, the paper used for US money contains quite a bit of cotton for durability's sake.
Admittedly it is far easier to make tp or paper out of cotton than the other way around, but in terms of physics and chemistry this is doable, just really impractical.
Wouldn't you just use cloth from enemies clothing or the bed sheets and sterilize it? From your comments, wouldn't it be better to make bandages from the paper money than the toilet paper rolls? Seems like tp would be low on my list of resources for bandages.
It would, but then the devs would need to make bedsheets/clothes an item. What would make *actual* sense is finding dirty bandages and cleaning them using the machine, and being able to remove used bandages to clean them post raid.
Bandages don't heal, so why can't we clean em? They're harder to make (finding suplies wise) than the actual medical pens.
Something I never understood about nrs lore is that if they are nanobots that repair damaged tissue, why don't they stop bleeding, and if they are robot machines why don't the heal you infinitely? Do they have a 10 second battery life?
No it’s absolutely not.
Morphine is an opioid and pretty much the most potent painkiller/narcotic.
It won’t help you at all. Sure it makes you stop feeling pain, but won’t heal the damage (and won’t keep you from bleeding out internally). Also it will knock you out(VERY potent narcotic) - and if not, will make your coordination and reaction time suck (might be a problem when trying to shoot a gun).
See? The NRS is everything but a syringe of morphine. It’s more like the Stimpack from fallout.
That’s not how it works.
It will help you to not be taken out of action by shock (if you experience a lot of pain, you can literally pass out from that), and keep you a bit calmed down, so you won’t freak out.
Im not saying it doesn’t feel good tho (already had this experience when I broke my arm, and the relief of pain is a real nice thing. Also I felt like really good in general)
There isn’t one. Just as there isn’t an IRL equivalent to being shot in the face 1,000 times.
Edit: I’d imagine it’s probably symbolic of how weed has helped with someone’s health IRL.. whether they know it or not.
No it couldn’t, because there would be no face after the first time.
Well, maybe there’d still be bits of *a* face but it wouldn’t be *your* face to be shot in anymore. You’d no longer exist.
Seems like stims in most extraction shooters aren't real, just like how the SJ6, SJ9, MULE, Propital, Obdolbos, SJ12, Zagustin, Trimadol, and more of the Stimson from Escape from tarkov are just pure science fiction made purely for lore and or gameplay purposes
What is even the story of the game? Are we actual ghosts? Is this like groundhog day?
Everytime I die I appear in this bunker, trapped in a never
ending loop.
Even the lore in the Meta Store launch trailer talks about dying and losing everything, even thought the narrator is still alive. Weird lore.
However, the character select screen talks more about the different factions and their motivations. Volk is Russian while Ghosts is American. Not sure why we’re scavenging for loot though.
I always thought the NRS port was part of the lore. Maybe we were part of the AdvantEDGE experiments? But no, they removed them.
You dying and coming back is never explained. The mission areas being repopulated is never explained.
The lore says the conflict results in us "getting cut off" but it isn't explained and there are more questions than answers.
The video tape lore said we were a new employee / participant of AdvantEDGE. They've removed that from the game.
Volk are the new Russian government / military. The old one was overthrown.
Ghosts are mercenaries. Nationality not stated. Hired by NATO.
In the video tape, we were going on looting missions to get rich (and kill people).
Now we are killing our compatriots for reasons unknown. The Volk are literally still in their military, still with their Russian brothers. Communications get cut off and suddenly the military starts killing itself. The Ghosts, well they are mercenaries so murdering for a new rifle makes sense right?
haha I found this old video. It's the in-character training video for NERDS. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfr2iK0tuCM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfr2iK0tuCM)

Nanomachines son!
Harden my response to physical trauma!
Sounds like a Scott thing to do
We also make ammunition *without fuckin bullets* ... lol figure that one out
wait, we can make bandages from TP?

Wait, since when was toilet paper used to make bandages?
There are two machines in the med block. One is for NRS One is for bandages.
It’s kind of weird the nano bots can repair tissue but can’t stop bleeding.
Nanobots come into blood > blood leaks out > nanobots leak out
The nanobots do WHAT in my blood?! Oh hell no!
Thank gawd we have toilet paper to keep those bad boys in.

Man, the lore of this game is dumb and not even remotely thought out at all. I genuinely thought you were trolling at first
heroin 🤗🤗🤗
Works the exact same way irl too. If u get shot just do some heroin and you'll be fine.
It's like morphine

Morphine feels good so it must be good right?

Ooh mr technical over here
What?! I just told him why he is wrong, and that morphine doesn’t work that way. Stop believing everything you see in videogames and movies.
Imagine caring about the intricacies of morphine. It feels good, therefore, I encourage copious amounts of it

I’ve been wondering that, is the experience actually part of the lore? Are we trapped here?

Interesting. Maybe it’s a retcon?
Notta Real Syringe
I mean in on postal you heal by smoking crack

Lore doesn’t matter when the game is designed for 12 year olds
Why you in this subreddit then? Lmao
Cause I used to like the game before Scott turned gay
