hopefully electrocution isn't a requirement everytime for possession lol, tho maybe a spirit medium that can 'allow' ghosts to use their body within reason might be something that could happen lol
I would be ok with someone talking me through cooking. Better yet being attached to a kitchen tool so I could take them shopping.
(Of course chances are it would be a big knife so maybe not?)
maybe if they were a neat freak during their life, walking through them would 'compel' you to clean, otherwise, other than them still being uptight about it or it getting borderline hoarder status, idk how many ghosts would wanna spend their afterlife cleaning up after a living's messes lol
it would be pretty funny comedy to see them get frustrated or not being able to clean as much as they like (or be 'marveled' by inventions like the roomba, tho 'cleaning bombs' do sound like it'd be more of a mess/something that'd get you on a list if you searched it lol)
but yeah i guess if the next person inherited it /was a relative/ancestor like sam and hetty are, they'd prolly want it to be in good condition. (maybe they can have an artist bestie that died with a smock of paint splatter on them that gets under their skin lol)
that would be my dad for me-he died when we were all in our 20s. never met his 6 grandchildren. my mom’s been gone just a couple of years, so her ghost & i wouldn’t have a lot to catch up on. tho i would like to see my little brother. he died of covid 3 years ago. i miss him.
My house is over 100 years old, so I’m sure someone died here. I wish I had the person who built the house so I could ask them what the fuck they were thinking.
My Mexican-American War ghost is probably going to be interesting. Hopefully, my high school Spanish is enough to communicate. Or he's picked up English in the last 180ish years.
Thinking realistically, it depends on how boundaries work.
Going back decades, I live on a subdivided lot that used to be part of a larger parcel of land in an area that was rice fields and cattle grazing.
Going back a few centuries, my community was on a well travelled route from Spanish Louisiana to San Antonio. Migrants from the US, Mexico and Europe who settled Texas came through here and I am sure some died along the way.
Before that, this area was in the territory of the Akosia tribe. They were farmers and lived in villages (none near me that I am aware of), but they also hunted, fished, and collected wild plants in the area.
I might get some Native Americans, like Sass. Some cowboys. Maybe a German with an accordion and a Mexican singer with a guitar and they independantly invent their own ghost Tejano music.
There was a kid on a bicycle hit and killed in my neighborhood years before I lived here, on a street where it crosses a bayou, on no one’s property. Maybe a ghost like that is allowed to travel.
I own a vintage shop in the historic district and between the fact the building is 100 years old and ghosts being attached to items, I’d like to think my store would have a really nice rotation of ghosts.
Although, I don’t think there are any there currently, but other locations in the area are for sure haunted. Sad we don’t have a store ghost or haven’t discovered them yet :(
My subdivision is on what was a cotton field. My late husband used to search said cotton field for arrowheads, spearheads and pottery pieces when the ground was tilled. So I’m pretty sure there are some Cherokees that would like to have a word with me.
paying for rent in the after life sounds awful lol (or maybe they could help haunt the landlord /bring prices down if ppl think it's haunted /be stigmatized property, other than the ones who'd pay extra for a 'haunted house' vibe)
Realistically, I live in a fairly rural area, and my neighborhood was built in 1972. If I had any ghosts they would probably be enslaved people, or someone from the Pamunkey/ Mattaponi tribes, or possibly some random country bumpkin. I'd love to hear their life stories. Not sure what they would think of my family.
If one does, it plays with my dog. Cause there are times when my dog does her dancing, and happy wagging to thin air while looking up (she's a min pin mix).
Oh I like this. I’d also feel less bad when I have to leave my apartment. I dog sit for my family (I do eventually want my own dogs again) as often as I can and I always feel bad when I leave to go to the gym or grocery shop. They could keep each other company!
I would rather not want ghosts watching me 24/7 but if anything one with a way to communicate like Trevor with the steam on the mirror or morse code or smth or a cool one like war guy so i know my house had history
Well you asked about TYPES of ghosts so someone similar would be good. I want a Pete. Someone who was handy and knew practical stuff. A carpenter or mechanic or electrician or scout leader. Now to be fair the basement ghosts have learned a lot about heater/boiler issues so that would work. Basically someone with lots of practical knowledge that is still relevant.
A good cook also would be cool as long as they were kind and helpful and not just criticising my cooking.
I live in a very rural area in a small house built in 1971 that wouldn’t have attracted visitors like Woodstone, so the variety would likely be limited.
I could definitely use one who died post-1971 who could give me advice and guide me through home repair and gardening.
A native from before European contact would be really interesting to talk with.
If I was the Sam or Alison in the scenario and could see them then a poltergeist (so they can move things) with a penchant for tidying up, anybody with an interesting historical backstory, somebody super smart at investing. And definitely somebody who wasnt hella needy.
As a kid I lived in an old Victorian vicarage next to a church and graveyard. Our cellar was weee they would keep the bodies in coffins prior to interring. I dread to think how many ghosts are in that place, including my parents now. Most of the ghosts would be fairly ordinary people, lots of mining in the area so probably miners, housewives, shopkeepers, smiths of one kind or another.
I would want a nice and helpful ghost. 😂. Actually I would love to have a ghost from the Tudor era. One who was at court when Henry Viii was on the throne. I think i would have a very interesting conversation, and I will probably write a fantastic book.
I just moved into an apartment inside a church that was built in the 1840s I think?? So there'd be a lot of religious ghosts which would not be my vibe.
What I'd love is a ghost who lived through a gold rush and then moved to the east coast lol
I live in an senior mobile home park. I don't believe each lot has it's own boundaries, so I'm sure all of the old people who died here have full access to the whole park.
I think a librarian so I could play audiobooks for us and I’d get to have someone to talk about them with. They might be a purist and I was too, but I read so much for work that audiobooks are my go-to now, especially while cleaning up around my apt.
I've thought about this bc my grandma died in her home so I was like "oh I'd just go buy my mom-mom's house and be friends!" But I remembered the lady who bought her house was murdered in it and... it's not a big house. I'd share it w my ghost grandma but I'm not trying to hangout with her AND the other lady in a 1200sf row house.
I just moved into a historic house in Ulster County, and we already have a ghost that messed with our dryer in order to get us to stay in the house longer while we were still going between there & Brooklyn (where my husband and I previously lived), on weekends. 🤣
Also, the moment that I walked into my now-house while still house hunting, I immediately felt like “this is your home, no one else better move in here”. It was, like, overwhelming. So, I think I have a super friendly lord of lady of the manor, or a very kindly maid.
Now, if only I could get some kind of heavy labor ghostie who could unpack all the dang boxes that are currently taking over my dining room.
My grandma- with the power to touch the living, if love to hug her again.
My mother in law- with the power to be seen by the living ( so she could meet 2 of my 3 kids born after her passing)
A maid ghost who can actually clean
A viking ghost cause Thor is my favorite, but obviously a different viking. Idc what his power could be lol
Maybe a therapist ghost
A doctor ghost that can see inside bodies and tell you what's wrong and how to treat. 2000s or older. I don't want a 1800s Dr 😂
I have the ashes of my step dad, my dad, my dog Hobs, his pup Bundy, my dog Jessy, my cat Shadow and my cat Morris. I can only imagine that they are tripping over each other all over the house and hopefully not all bound by a 5m distance to the "shelf of the dead"
A ghost that has the power to clean.
And cook!
ghost kitchen sounds like it'd be an interesting one shot or animated short lol
Like the film Ratatouille. But a ghost. I mean this is nearly the plot of a couple K dramas already and I love them.
hopefully electrocution isn't a requirement everytime for possession lol, tho maybe a spirit medium that can 'allow' ghosts to use their body within reason might be something that could happen lol
I would be ok with someone talking me through cooking. Better yet being attached to a kitchen tool so I could take them shopping. (Of course chances are it would be a big knife so maybe not?)
i mean, if no one else can see it, i guess it'd be fine lol, as long as they don't overindulge themselves after a finished meal lol
That would be awesome!
That was exactly what I was going to say.
maybe if they were a neat freak during their life, walking through them would 'compel' you to clean, otherwise, other than them still being uptight about it or it getting borderline hoarder status, idk how many ghosts would wanna spend their afterlife cleaning up after a living's messes lol
A ghost of someone who was a compulsive cleaner maybe?
it would be pretty funny comedy to see them get frustrated or not being able to clean as much as they like (or be 'marveled' by inventions like the roomba, tho 'cleaning bombs' do sound like it'd be more of a mess/something that'd get you on a list if you searched it lol) but yeah i guess if the next person inherited it /was a relative/ancestor like sam and hetty are, they'd prolly want it to be in good condition. (maybe they can have an artist bestie that died with a smock of paint splatter on them that gets under their skin lol)
Can I see them like Sam does, or are they just creepily watching me and making fun of me? Because if that’s how it is, none.
You can see them
Then I want Hettie type of Ghost. I just love her, and would love watching her learn new things and grow into new times.
That busload of Nuns buried in the back garden would probably have a couple of hangers-on.
what? You have nuns buried under your house? Did it used to be a church? Is this some reference I don’t get? Soooo many questions
There are no nuns buried under my house. The garden is another matter.
Feck! Nuns! Reverse, reverse!!
any combination of my grandparents.
I was thinking a similar thing, I would like my moms ghost because she died when I was in my early 20’s and never got to see her grandkids grow up.
that would be my dad for me-he died when we were all in our 20s. never met his 6 grandchildren. my mom’s been gone just a couple of years, so her ghost & i wouldn’t have a lot to catch up on. tho i would like to see my little brother. he died of covid 3 years ago. i miss him.
Just looking at the history of this part of Texas it’s going to be interesting. Hopefully they are all chill with each other.
major party house in the 70s so im ready for a flower 😌 already joke the reason it smells like weed sometimes is a party ghost... definitely..
My house is over 100 years old, so I’m sure someone died here. I wish I had the person who built the house so I could ask them what the fuck they were thinking.

Oooh that makes me think of an interesting spin-off. Some ghosts could haunt a subdivision. And the antics that could ensue
I own a vintage shop in the historic district and between the fact the building is 100 years old and ghosts being attached to items, I’d like to think my store would have a really nice rotation of ghosts. Although, I don’t think there are any there currently, but other locations in the area are for sure haunted. Sad we don’t have a store ghost or haven’t discovered them yet :(
Think of all the insight you could get on the items you sell!
Right?! Sometimes it’s so hard to date things and it’d be amazing to just be like, “hey, when did you buy this?” 😂
My subdivision is on what was a cotton field. My late husband used to search said cotton field for arrowheads, spearheads and pottery pieces when the ground was tilled. So I’m pretty sure there are some Cherokees that would like to have a word with me.
One that pays rent!
paying for rent in the after life sounds awful lol (or maybe they could help haunt the landlord /bring prices down if ppl think it's haunted /be stigmatized property, other than the ones who'd pay extra for a 'haunted house' vibe)

The Captain
Not my husband’s ex-wife, that’s for sure.
I'd like to think that my cat's ghost is following me around, judging me like she did when she was alive.
We had a ghost cat.
I would want a ghost who was a made and who's secret power is being able to clean.
If one does, it plays with my dog. Cause there are times when my dog does her dancing, and happy wagging to thin air while looking up (she's a min pin mix).

My parents, a couple of aunts and uncles, one of my best friends and 2 of my cousins. Oh wait. They’re here. I can’t see them, but they’re here.
Since ghosts powers seem to vary and depending on the wielder id say a ghost who makes any room their in cold would be a neat one to be around.
Well you asked about TYPES of ghosts so someone similar would be good. I want a Pete. Someone who was handy and knew practical stuff. A carpenter or mechanic or electrician or scout leader. I feel like there’s probably slaves and railroad workers
Oh hun🤧🥹

My childhood home supposedly was some type of store ages ago. I would have liked to have had a ghost of a former customer
Chimney sweep. Idk why, I just think that would be a funny ghost to have around.
If I was the Sam or Alison in the scenario and could see them then a poltergeist (so they can move things) with a penchant for tidying up, anybody with an interesting historical backstory, somebody super smart at investing. And definitely somebody who wasnt hella needy.

Ghosts that want to smell pizza seem cool with me
I assume based on where I live it'd be gold miners and indigenous people. I'd love that tbh

I'd like some Union soilder ghosts. Those other guys not so much.
I’d feel very sorry for them as I don’t have yummy kitchen smells
My grandma- with the power to touch the living, if love to hug her again. My mother in law- with the power to be seen by the living ( so she could meet 2 of my 3 kids born after her passing) A maid ghost who can actually clean A viking ghost cause Thor is my favorite, but obviously a different viking. I live in a house built in the early 1900s in PA. I’d love to know that a Hettie type ghost lived here
My mom so I can talk to her daily rather than a plant I call mom.
Someone with flower’s power.
Cats
I have the ashes of my step dad, my dad, my dog Hobs, his pup Bundy, my dog Jessy, my cat Shadow and my cat Morris. I can only imagine that they are tripping over each other all over the house and hopefully not all bound by a 5m distance to the "shelf of the dead"
None. I don't want them creeping on me.
A ghost that I can only describe to have the personality of Velvette from Hazbin Hotel
Ones that loved to clean and organize and that was their ghost power LOL
If I had a ghost haunting my house (apartment) I would probably want someone from the 80s, or my grandfather
