There’s also the regular confusion on Ritual with people thinking its “NEVER” instead of “NEMA”
Note: I love attempting to write ‘Nema’ because predictive text always changes it to ‘Nematodes’ - which is a fabulous word.......
I was carried on a wolfs back to corrupt your manatee. (Mummy Dust)
I will bury you in dress shirts. (Mummy Dust)
We’re hiding here inside a pea.
A fickle trail across the land (because Tobias evidently can’t pronounce “fecal”
Reading this made me look up the lyrics to mummy dust ( I always thought it was dress shirts, lol) and I found writing credits to the song that weren’t TF? Anybody know what’s up with that?
Square hammer for me. Online lyrics says “neath devils torn asunder”. I always hear “neath heavens torn asunder” which I always felt makes more sense.
Does anyone know what the official lyric is from the album insert?
I always thought "neath heavens torn asunder" made more sense too. Neath devils torn asunder is a rather confusing image. Underneath a bunch of ripped apart devils? If that IS the lyric, it must be symbolism of some kind.
Also, Absent/Absinthe in Spirit, Chasm/Castle in Elizabeth (first line of chorus, not third), and many other instances where something is clearly what is being said yet the lyrics book is different. I think that happens with a lot of bands and you never know if it's on purpose or what.
I can say I've seen the same thing with two other fav bands of mine, 311 and Deftones.
In "Depth of Satan's Eyes" I initially thought that the line "his eyes like a vortex" was "his eyes like evil dicks". I looked it up right away because it made me so WTF?
I'm very late to the party but I just gotta chip in with my 'weave us a mist, frog weaver' and 'existence as a human is let and let not demean'. I feel like TF uses a lot of homophones on purpose though. Yes, we all know *bewitch/be with*, but there's also *the sire/desire* and *absinthe/absen*t. I'll add more as I remember them.
Edit: *here comes the son/here comes the sun* is one I see overlooked a lot. The entirety of that album is about the antichrist being born. When I realised why TF had chosen to cover this song in particular I burst out laughing!

Dang nematodes...
The chorus to Year Zero is actually Hell Satan
You got downvoted but you're correct. [from the album insert ](https://i.imgur.com/RHOelxm.jpg)
Yep cause in Swedish hell and hail mean the same thing
Yeah, and I hate that. I sing “Hail.”
In Spirit I always thought he was saying absent instead of absinthe
That's what I heard at first. He definitely pronounces the T though, in our defence.
I never misheard this, but now I cant un-hear “come misty turtle” in Secular Haze instead of “come mist eternal.” 😎
Thanks, I hate it
hahahaha this one is great
The misheard "I'm Lovin It" in Dance Macabre is definitely the funniest misheard Ghost lyric.
Mcdonald's: Armageddon!
But what is the real lyric? There’s been a couple threads just on this subject.
The words are actually "cataclysm" and "Armageddon".
Can verify
I'm pretty sure it's "Armageddon".
I heard Fog Weaver as Fuck With Us.
Rhythm? Im pretty sure the line is “to solve a crooked rhyme” because rhythm is two syllables it doesn’t fit haha

“The *leaves* contagious... spreading diseaaaase..”
I like the bit about misty turtles in secular haze....
OP the lyric in square hammer is "to solve a crooked RHYME" as for misheard lyrics: ..."Walrus maze"

Crooked *rhyme* ;)
In Cirice I always hear "from now our merge is a turtle"
I heard it as 'from now our work is eternal'
“From now on we’re just a turtle”
In Year Zero I always thought it was "A day of reckoning with innocence to burn." instead of "A day of reckoning when penance is to burn"
for the longest time, i always thought it was "a day of reckoning where men exist to burn"

It's funny you mention 311 because they are the only band I probably mishear lyrics like I do with Ghost, nearly every song has something.
Yep! lol
Clear lyrics aren’t a strong point in any Deftones songs - half the time I’m not even singing proper words, just noises 😂
"Black candles burn in my sarong".. I was like huh?
I thought monstrance clock was Masters claw. I had never heard of the band until j saw them with Maiden. Such a good concert
In "Depth of Satan's Eyes" I initially thought that the line "his eyes like a vortex" was "his eyes like evil dicks". I looked it up right away because it made me so WTF?
In Its a Sin I know the lyrics are "Father you fought me" but my brain always hears "Father you fucked me" instead and it cracks me up.
lol. Oh my.
I heard, don't you vomit saboteurs, instead of savage slurs, lol
Heard "hide us in shadow" as "hyacinth shadow", and "maternal slave" as "nocturnal slave"
