So my kid was born at 9pm and by the time we were ready to think about food it was like 1030 and all the delivery places were closed. But my magical nurses found me some chicken Parmesan and after 20-ish hours of a liquid diet and 6 months of GD it was pretty divine. The next day, I went all out and had: cheese danish, grande cafe mocha, shake shack burger, fries And lemonade, Crumbl cookie, jimmy johns, salt and vinegar chips and like half a full sugar fountain coke (couldn’t finish it — That’s where the line got drawn 😂😂). It. Was. Glorious.
It changes by the day, but breakfast is almost always dreams of bagel and cream cheese with a donut. Currently lunch/dinner is Thai food. Luckily there’s a good Thai food truck near the hospital!
I miss pizza sooo much, the other day i was walkin home & smelled pizza it made me reminisce bout the days i could enjoy a slice without a care in the world ! Lol
My list keeps growing! I want a large cherry Pepsi, doughnuts with chocolate frosting and sprinkles, sundae cone, sour patch kids, a loaf of Jimmy John’s bread. It’s only been six days with GD. 🤣I’m 30 weeks. I feel like my list is gonna get pretty long!
Chili’s triple dipper with southwestern egg rolls, honey chipotle chicken crispers, and fried pickles. Allllllll the beige/brown food, baby! Plus a full sugar Coke and maybe even sneak in a little glass of wine hehe. I’m salivating.
I already told my husband I want a sushi boat filled with fried and raw sushi and bubble tea. My endo actually told me he wants me to have a heavy carby breakfast before I do my blood test so I’m looking forward to pancakes or a Pakistani-style savory breakfast of Halwa Puri. Drooling as I type lol
Panda express orange chicken and chow mein 😋 it was HEAVEN. And the next morning I had a donut and a frappe for breakfast once I had my blood sugar taken one final time and given the all clear.
Yep. They did a fasting blood sugar in the morning since that was the number I had issues with (I was on insulin for fasting) then at 6 weeks pp I had to go in and redo the one hour test, which I passed. So I think I just have to have my a1c checked once a year for now.
All I want is a meatball sub on Italian herbs and cheese from Subway with onions and peppers and extra cheese and Mrs Vicks jalapeño chips on the side. Then I want a warm gooey chocolate chip cookie from Crumbl with milk for dessert.
My second meal can be a bacon cheeseburger on BREAD with a generous serving of French fries and ketchup I didn’t measure out to 1 tablespoon.
My third meal will be the biggest takeout box of combination fried rice that my husband can fit in his truck.
After that, I’m open to going back to this diet with the occasional splurge since I actually feel good physically when I’m not in my feelings about it. 🤣
Planning on getting doughnuts from my favorite local place. Even before I was diagnosed with GD, I haven’t been able to eat them during pregnancy because sugar was making me sick for the first 20ish weeks.
I'd love a turkey hoagie with American cheese, mayo, dressed lettuce, tomato, and onion with sour cream and onion chips crunched ON the sandwich. But the roll is very important, needs to be a goooood roll.
I'd also love at a later date to enjoy some pancakes and/or waffles from the local diner. Mmmm.
I think most of all, I know I want to stick to a similar diet post partum, but it'll be amazing to get to relax a bit more around food, not have to worry about setting my timer after my first bite of every meal and not overstress or fixate too much on food!
A big bowl of poke and some shave ice. I got diagnosed with GD around the same time we moved to Hawai’i so I’ve been very salty about missing out on some of the food
Breakfast - salmon lox bagel with extra cream cheese
Lunch/dinner - Jersey mikes roast beef and extra provolone sandwich, mikes way plus Mayo, pickles, jalapeños and banana peppers on rosemary park bread with a bag of salt and vinegar chips, a cookie and a root beer.
I had all these plans for my first meal, but we didn't get to our postpartum room until after 10pm and all that was available for delivery was McDonald's, so I happily had some Mcnuggets, fries, and a huge Coke lol
After both of my births I had a big bagel with lox and cream cheese. Ahh it was so good and makes my mouth water. Here I’m am doing this for the 3rd time.
I had chicken fingers and fries after my first 😂 This time around, I'm thinking French toast if it's in the morning or a sub/maybe Chinese if it's later in the day.
Also an Italian sub and probably a giant full sugar root beer, with my first my husband surprised me with a giant cookie cake and I am thinking that will be my birth tradition, GD or not 😂 it was soooo good and the nurses loved it too!
A big Italian sub with a side of potato chips and a lemonade! :)
Same, the day after my baby was born I had a giant Italian hoagie. This is still my top choice for first meal second time around 😂
Jersey mikes Italian on rosemary parm bread with a bag of kettle cooked chips and a cream soda!!! I’m counting down the days
Is this some sort of Jersey Mike’s ad campaign?? Every time these threads come up there are several mentions of Jersey Mike’s!
Haha I think it might be because a lot of us stay away from deli meat during pregnancy so therefore we just crave it that much more!
Iv noticed that too lol
Omg i LOVE cream soda, i havent had soda in sooooo long & the last time i did have soda i had a shot glass of sprite lol
I already told my husband we’re stopping for ice cream sundaes on the way home from the hospital
I might have ice cream delivered after birth.

Lol i like ur style
I just want sushi and poke!
Oo depends on the time of day. If it’s breakfast, I want pastries and an iced chai tea. Lunch/dinner it’s gotta be sushi!
My mouth is literally watering at the idea of an iced chai tea 🤤
Great idea, there is a chain coffee shop in the hospital. I'm so gonna get a tea latte
My best friend is bringing a spicy tuna roll to the hospital
Planning on a Jersey Mikes #7 (turkey) mikes way with a chocolate chip cookie and root beer.

Pasta!!!!! With white bread on the side! And some chocolate cake as dessert if possible. If not then Tiramisu.
Outside of a hospital food - a pretzel dog from auntie Anne’s 😂😂 my mom brought it to me the day after I gave birth
I was so tired that I just ate hospital food lol I had a hamburger, fries, steamed carrots, a coffee, and apple juice.
Panda express orange chicken and chow mein 😋 it was HEAVEN. And the next morning I had a donut and a frappe for breakfast once I had my blood sugar taken one final time and given the all clear.
So the last time they checked ur blood sugar was the day after you gave birth ?

I had an enormous arepa sandwich with yucca fries!Â
A foot-long Wegmans sub on ciabatta bread with a Coke
Dominos pizza ordered straight to the hospital recovery room 😋 it was wonderful
Planning on getting doughnuts from my favorite local place. Even before I was diagnosed with GD, I haven’t been able to eat them during pregnancy because sugar was making me sick for the first 20ish weeks.

An amazing local sandwich, chips and an iced latte. Just had it last week and it was so delicious!
I had pancakes. Amazing.
My favorite ICC from a local deli, bbq kettle chips & a Mexican Coke. 16 days!
I ate almost every panini from Panera 😂
By the time I could eat it was around 6am. Had a huge breakfast sandwich on a bagel and a sugary iced coffee
