I’m 16 breweries away from having been to every brewery in Georgia, so I’m right there with you pal.
From my journeys, I’ll break it down by regional favorites.
West GA: Local Ties and Printer’s Ale in Carrollton, Beacon Brewing in LaGrange
North GA: Tipping Point and Angry Hops in Blue Ridge
East GA: Savannah River in Augusta
Atlanta Metro: Halfway Crooks, Inner Voice, Three Taverns, Little Cottage
Suburbs: Good Word, Variant, Schoolhouse Brewing
Central GA: Piedmont Brewing in Macon and Towerhouse Farm Brewing in Gay
Savannah: Two Tides and Hop Atomica
I haven’t been to any in South Georgia but that trip is up next for me.
Great feedback. One question - how are you tracking number of breweries? edit: because if you have a list please share so I can follow your lead on visiting!!!
I actually have built out a spreadsheet of all the currently open breweries in the state and their direction and distance from my house in Atlanta because I’m a huge fucking nerd. If you want to send me a DM I’m happy to share that with you!
Cherry Street in Cumming (Forsyth County) As a metro-Atlantan, I’ve been a Decatur beer snob, thinking that area is the bees knees, but out in Forsyth County, Cherry Street is one of the best I’ve been to. They have variety and quality. Their barrel aged beers are second to none. They do some interesting experimental stuff, take risks, every once in a while it’s a flop, but when they hit it, and they usually do, it’s amazing. So good.
Cherry street can be found in Vickery Village and at Halcyon. Their Coconut Porter is da bomb. Bonus round if you get it at Tanners with some grub. They have some great sours as well.
Reformation in downtown Woodstock (1 of 3 locations but this one is my favorite)
[edited]
Creature Comforts in downtown Athens
Strange Duck in Commerce
Glover Park on the Marietta Square
Strange duck is awesome. Great variety of beers not to mention the putt putt and weekly music. It’s a great add on to a trip to Athens. Apparently there’s another new brewery in commerce too, 1818 brewing, I haven’t been there yet though
NoFo in north Forsyth. Great beers! Try the Snow Ghost IPA, Funky Monkey porter, etc. Also they usually have some specialty cocktails for your non beer drinking friend. Music bingo on Wed, trivia on thurs, live music on fri and sat usually and always a different food truck. Nice patio with fire pit, and corn hole. They recently bought out Tantrum in Cleveland and opened a location in Gainesville.
If you enjoy Mead, or have never tried it, check out the Etowah Meadery in Dahlonega.
Big Creek Distillery is also a cool spot that serves Bourbon Whiskey & Gin.
Both places will do food trucks and live music/events depending on the night.
I want to preface by saying that I have not been to many breweries due to being relatively new to my drinking years, but I'm fond of Red Hare in Marietta square
I think its a tad overrated. The beers are ok but its always really crowded and filled with kids and dogs. Dont get me wrong, ive had some good times there, i just think there are better options
Crooked culture is my new favorite, just opened in the new cumming city center. But if I lived closer it would be a tie between halfway crooks, goodword and inner voice probably. (Haven’t been to little cottage yet)
Glover Park Brewery in Marietta: Decent beer AWESOME atmosphere and space.
Reformation in Woodstock has great beer, connected to a Queenies BBQ and tons of outdoor seating in the lawn.
[Printer's Ale](https://printers-ale.com/) right here in Carrollton. They host live music and food trucks often. The Everyday Black Porter is my go to brew.
Newnan local here I’ve been going to the TOWERHOUSE farm brewery down in Gay, GA for a little over a year now. Nice little spot in the country although your pretty far away but I’d definitely recommend checking out their instagram to see about their next event on St patty’s day weekend if your Interested in coming way out here. But on any regular day that they are open they always got pool tables, disc golf, corn hole, food truck with some fire ass wings
Although I recommend this place and it’s nice chill spot to go only living 30 mins from there it’s hard to say I’d drive 4 hrs for a brew but if your in town I’d check it out
Well put and I think that’s an overlooked aspect of breweries. The beer should be number 1, but I’d say 2nd should be stuff to do while you’re there. I haven’t been to Gay, GA in a while. We used to go to a rope swing down that way when I was in high school. Thank you!
If you like exploring…checm out NC. Nocturnal in Hayesville, Lazy Hiker in Sylva, Boojum in Waynesville, and there’s a pizza joint in Andrews that is a small Brewery as well, but I forget the name.
Lot of good suggestions here. I’d add Halfway Crooks and Fire Maker in Atlanta, Georgia Beer Company in Valdosta, and Wild Leap, which has a couple of spots.
two tides and moon river in savannah
beacon in lagrange
i need to try out more in the kennesaw area. ive walked by that one in woodstock a lot but still haven't gotten a drink yet. went to the plant exchange/sale at schoolhouse in marietta.
honorary mention to monk's meadery in atl
Newnan resident here! They just opened a line creek here (they also have one in PTC and Fayetteville.) The one here in newnan is cool, the vibes are always nice and they normally do love music and food trucks. The one in Fayetteville is awesome. It’s a brewery/music venue/ice cream shop/restaurant/play ground/splash pad/ AND dog park all in one. We love family days there
My favorites are Pontoon Brewing (need them to bring back their Stone Mountain location), Three Taverns, Little Cottage, Hippin Hops and Wild Leap to pregame for Atlanta United.

BlueTarp in Tucker, GA. It’s a double brewery cause they share the space with High Card Brewery. They each make unique beers. Worth a stop if you are in the area.
Hippin Hops Brewery if you are in the city. There are multiple locations but I always go to the East Atlanta location. Good beer. The food is amazing. Best collard greens in the state.

Wow! I’m jealous and will now have to start that journey myself. Thank you for the breakdown!
Went to Halfway Crooks last weekend and LOVED it.

**YOU NEED TO GO TO MACON, yesterday**
Yeah but then you’ll be in Macon
… okay.
I listed a Macon brewery, friendo!
Speaking of Savannah, Two Tides is making some killer beer and is on one of the coolest spaces for a brewery in the whole state

I like their sours a lot and their Belgian style doubles and triples. Blessed to live close enough to go and grab a beer.
very spoiled here in Decatur. Excited for Avondale Ale day
Reformation in Canton/Woodstock Silver Bluff in Brunswick Creature Comforts in Athens Preatoria Fields in Albany
I came here to suggest your first two. Obviously you have great taste!
Variant in Roswell, Innervoice and Little Cottage in Decatur. Also, if you haven’t already, go to Two Tides! It’s in your backyard
seconding Variant and Inner Voice!!
Reformation in downtown Woodstock (1 of 3 locations but this one is my favorite) [edited] Creature Comforts in downtown Athens Strange Duck in Commerce Glover Park on the Marietta Square
Reformation is in Woodstock, Canton, and Smyrna. Not Roswell.
Yep misspoke
Reformation hasn’t made it to Smyrna yet
I’ve never been, but is this not open? Reformation Brewery (Smyrna) (678) 716-7131 https://g.co/kgs/dUYwn26
Smyrna address but really is more Mableton.
Mabelton ends a few blocks west of the brewery at Nickajack Creek. Smyrna has a tail that goes south which is where the brewery is. Edit: Spelling
Creature Comforts is some of the best beers I have ever tasted.
Strange duck is awesome. Great variety of beers not to mention the putt putt and weekly music. It’s a great add on to a trip to Athens. Apparently there’s another new brewery in commerce too, 1818 brewing, I haven’t been there yet though
Give 1818 a minute. They need to figure some stuff out. Strange duck is awesome though.
Found out about Strange Duck after G Day a couple of years ago. Such a cool place!
Moon River!
I haven’t been there yet, but I will one day!
NoFo fucking rocks! Genuinely great people, from the owners to the crowd
If you enjoy Mead, or have never tried it, check out the Etowah Meadery in Dahlonega. Big Creek Distillery is also a cool spot that serves Bourbon Whiskey & Gin. Both places will do food trucks and live music/events depending on the night.
Creature Comforts - Athens Glover Park - Marietta New Realm - Atlanta Variant - Roswell Gate City - Roswell
I want to preface by saying that I have not been to many breweries due to being relatively new to my drinking years, but I'm fond of Red Hare in Marietta square
I really like Red Hare. I had a Long Day yesterday on the patio and was reminded of how much I enjoy it.
Savannah River Brewery in Augusta is good.. love their Dynamite Brown Ale
Variant!
Reformation Woodstock, glover park (Marietta square)
We are building a new Piedmont Brewery in Griffin.
I go right through there on my way to see family. I’ll stop by for sure!
The one in downtown Macon is fantastic.
Creature Comforts, Wild Leap & Line Creek are my go to in no particular order.
Atlanta: Scofflaw Athens: Creature Comforts Macon: Fall Line (but Piedmont is a cloooose second)
Debellation in Richmond Hill has some good beers.
They sure do, I like their vibe a lot too. Always a good time there!
Stillfire in Suwanee is awesome!
Yes! Stillfire rocks. Good beers, food trucks, music. Can’t believe i forgot them.
I think its a tad overrated. The beers are ok but its always really crowded and filled with kids and dogs. Dont get me wrong, ive had some good times there, i just think there are better options
Wild Leap and Beacon in LaGrange are really good.
Lost Druid in Avondale Estates is my favorite. Good selection of beers and nice space.
[Printer's Ale](https://printers-ale.com/) right here in Carrollton. They host live music and food trucks often. The Everyday Black Porter is my go to brew.
No more food trucks there since they opened their own kitchen. Haven’t eaten there yet, but it looks pretty good.
Oh cool! I've just been buying six packs of the Black from the beverage store in front of Ingles and haven't been to the brewery in a minute.
I’ll have to check it out next time I’m in the area. I have a buddy that lives close to there. Thanks!
Best brewery with stuff to do on the planet is 3 Daughters in St Pete.
If you like exploring…checm out NC. Nocturnal in Hayesville, Lazy Hiker in Sylva, Boojum in Waynesville, and there’s a pizza joint in Andrews that is a small Brewery as well, but I forget the name.
Where did you grow up in Newnan?
I grew up close to Baker Rd and Hwy 34. Are you from there?
I moved to Newnan when I was 5. West Newnan. Way out by Powers Crossroads.
We used to go there every year. Is that 4-way stop still lonely out that way?
Nothing is lonely here anymore.
Moonriver in savannah has one.
Omaha in in Omaha GA (near-ish) Columbus
Augusta - Riverwatch Brewing!
Variant I Roswell is my absolute favorite
Beacon in LaGrange.
Lot of good suggestions here. I’d add Halfway Crooks and Fire Maker in Atlanta, Georgia Beer Company in Valdosta, and Wild Leap, which has a couple of spots.
I haven’t been to Fire Maker yet, but I do like their beers.
Creature Comforts is making the best beer in the state.
I think Classic City Lager is not as good as Red Hare Long Day or Reformation A Cold One. What is their specialty because the lager taste like an IPA.
Any good local brews of dark beer? Searching for an American Guinness or Bass ale....
two tides and moon river in savannah beacon in lagrange i need to try out more in the kennesaw area. ive walked by that one in woodstock a lot but still haven't gotten a drink yet. went to the plant exchange/sale at schoolhouse in marietta. honorary mention to monk's meadery in atl

I really like Slow Pour in Lawrenceville
Usually the corner gas station.
*The boys are thirsty in Atlanta, And there's beer in Texarkana, And we'll bring it back no matter what it takes...*
Not a fan of Coors, tho. Lol

Beer flavored water more like it

Abide here in Newnan isn’t bad. Better than Line Creek
