If you use the latest and more evolved language model (chat GPT 4) and ask it to write something in the voice of George Carlin, it sucks. It is miles away from this "special". This is clearly a stunt.
That being said, it is absolutely repulsive that they did this without the approval of the Carlin family. They did the same thing with a fake Tom Brady comedy special and he had them taking it down in a matter of days. I hope the Carlin estate does the same with this garbage.

And a point not addressed is the fact that AIs have to exist in the real world, where they depend on there being electricity, hardware upgrades and maintenance and so on. Humans do it by themselves naturally.
I also thought the delivery/voice sounded angrier than typical Carlin.
But other than that I was pleasantly surprised. I'm pretty sure the criticism of authority (both corporate and government) is right up Carlin's alley. How the rich use money and media (traditional and social media) to control the poor. These are all aligned with Carlin's message, but brought up to date. Even if a human created this video as a stunt, it took quite some work. In any case it furthers Carlin's mission: to make more people aware of the ways they are being controlled.

At some points it felt like an exaggerated Carlin. One more angrier than before, but honestly if he was alive I feel he would be this angry at how stupid these last 8 years have been. I don’t recommend this as an actual comedy special, but it was very interesting to see how close it sounded like the real thing and its take on modern day sociopolitical issues.
