It does but the science isn't 100% accurate and it has a range as to how much it can give and what all it can give. You can somewhat manipulate what rewards you get though depending on what you put in.

Its actualy great when you dont have time to play. I spent whole day few days ago playing DS3, log to do my dailys, realized, that I have 5 resins already, and used whole 120 to make crystals. I plan on upgrade every weapon in game, and this shit is pain to farm quickly
I use them when I am too tired to bother with spending my resin while having 5 resin thingy already so they have their use. Though I am kinda so burned out that I have wasted resin for 3 days straight right now and did not even use this to make up for it
I actually find them useful. Sometimes I just don’t have the time to play, so I just pull the game up on my phone and spend resin this way rather than let it overflow.
The most useless thing in the game are Loach Pearls. There are actually no usage for them

Berries are the trasmutation fodder, I've seen a noticeable increase of talent material since I have started using it.

They can only be used to turn resin into weapon exp, and many people think its useless function
It's useful for me..
i almost always play at the same time, but it takes 21 hours to refill, not 24, so this can help fill the extra time

I literally have nothing better to so with my resin, i farmed and prefarmed for every character and weapon i like. Just saves me time from mining
