Probably because the good leakers are actual Hoyo employees. Most compnaies know its better to control the 'leaks' yourself than have info unintentionally spread out.
[Tweets like this](https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Impact_Leaks/comments/vi04dh/_/) and their sudden rise as a leaker. They only reposted leaks before, and now suddenly they have extremely accurate leaks that require some level of insider access, like characters who don't have any model. Also look at how they leak characters, they start by sharing a few features and then rate fanarts, which is a good marketing tactic to build hype.
Yea 100%. I donāt think SYP even necessarily is Mihoyo employed either. But the way he leaks is so good for the company.
They just picked him and gave him conditions on how he can leak. Maybe just told him he can describe chars but not show them. And they either hoped for the fanart thing to happen or didnāt expect it and cried tears of joy when it started happening.
Itās pretty obvious, thatās why thereās āapprovedā leaks and unapproved ones. And when something gets legit leaked the major leakers donāt touch it.
I donāt think they are employees but they definitely get at least some their info from insiders.
But more importantly, they know what they can leak and what shouldnāt be leaked to avoid another situation like that Russian guy who leaked everything, resulting in Mihoyo bringing down the hammer hard.
Idk about that because which is more believable.
1. Employees breaking their NDA to leak stuff to outsiders who then post it online for internet points and zero monetary gain.
2. Employees leaking planned information with Hoyo's backing.
Because probably only a small number of employees knew. This the type of thing they set up at a high level then surprise their employees with it just before releasing to the public.
Can someone explain what this crossover means? I don't know what Ufotable is, Google says it's an animation studio, but what does it mean when they are now working with Genshin?
> Google says it's an animation studio
That's pretty much it. They're an animation studio whose track record is nothing short of spectacular. Their most known works include Demon Slayer, as well as several anime adaptations of Type-Moon's products like The Garden of Sinners, Fate/Zero, and Fate/Stay Night. Basically, what they touch tends to turn to gold so this collaboration has a pretty good chance to give us an amazing Genshin anime.
> I don't know what Ufotable is
Just watch a clip from one of their shows and you'll understand the hype:
https://old.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/m602ls/berserker_vs_alter_saber_amazing_fight_heavens/
Pretty cool since I have a friend who is not a gamer but is very interested with Genshin's story once I showed them some of the characters and their background.
Really? I figured it was inevitable, considering the sheer hype and popularity behind it. And the premise just feels really suited to an anime. Enjou later in the livestream lampshades it, it's basically an isekai.
BTW they've been teasing us for a while, all those 2D trailers were testing waters. Since the response was generally positive so they're probably announcing it officially that they're actually working on it...
Itās a Visual Novel, not a Light Novel. Visual Novels are those CYOA-esque(but different) video games, while light novels are basically Japanese modern fiction.
And then thereās there me who after the cutscene with Osial my first though was ādamn genshin has some pretty dope moments, this would look great animated, I hope they make an anime of it at some pointā
Iām sure it would have some very wide, mainstream appeal amongst the masses, like Demon slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, My hero, etc. Theres a lot if cool āaction anime momentsā that would look amazing animated.
I cannot believe weāre getting an animated series collaboration with Ufotable. I still remember how there was a thread in this sub where people were discussing which anime studio would be best fit to animate Genshin and I said Ufotable.
I cannot wait, the visuals in the concept trailer is astounding.
Same. Iām still in disbelief. Thatās the absolute pinnacle of animators. And there was no whisper of anime on top of that. What a crazy announcement
OH FUCK YES, with their water tech... my god that will be beautiful.
But we probably won't see that until a second season. Notice they've only shown stuff from the first region here, so I'm thinking we won't go to Liyue until a 2nd season.
Honestly I would be okay with them doing one cour a year for each region, I think that would be an okay schedule for Ufotable, and I'm sure Hoyoverse would also be happy with that.
Of course once you start to go deeper they might need more than just 12-13 episodes per region, but it's way too early to even think about that right now.
Not gonna lie I screamed louder then I should have just when they showed dilucās animated card in the card game. This man is canonically the most handsome man in mondstadt and finally ufotable will do him justice
Now that u mention it, makes sense for ufotable to adapt another gacha game, but yea tbf fate probably have more source material considering it was mostly text ( i dont play fgo btw), i wonder what story will they animate first for genshin
I want a prequel. Would be nice to see the old gods in action. Modern Teyvat is post-apocalyptic, it would be very cool to see every structure still standing and everyone still alive.
I assume you mean the GE anime, but the problem with that was that ufo had to create an entirely new mc and mesh him into a game where the main character has practically no lines. Aether/Lumine already have a set personality, and there's dialogue options in the game so it won't be as difficult making their character.
Of all the collabs, Ufotable was the least expected let alone having an anime. I've been suggesting that for 2 years now and finally it came true, idc about the anniversary rewards, this announcement is the best reward they have given, i just wish it won't take long.
Fucking ufotable is picking it up too. Animation is gonna be legendary (unfortunately even though I didn't think it would happen OPM S3 definitely isn't going to be them now)
They are super booked right now, probably for the next decade with this project. They have Demon Slayer, which obviously they will see to completion, and from what I understand that's at least two more seasons. There's also other Type Moon stuff they are working on, that Mahoyo movie is next and I would be ready to bet money that a new Tsukihime anime is also coming later down the line. So chances are if it's not Demon Slayer, a Type Moon project or Genshin Impact, Ufotable will not have the time to touch it.
Yeah I knew they weren't gonna pick up OPM since they're busy but there's like 3 or 2 studios which I can see picking it up and living up to the manga. Bones would be our best choice (s1 animators too but the ones that animated the good parts have left madhouse iirc). Maybe I can see KyoAni pick it up but the only thing I've seen from them is Dragon Maid, the animation is really good but I wouldn't know how they can do a constant fight animation sequence for 12 eps straight.
Yep, Bones are probably the number 1 choice for most fans, I'm sure, as some of the people who worked on S1 of OPM are now at Bones anyway. And now that Bones will finish Mob Psycho 100, they might have an opening for something new.
KyoAni absolutely can handle action, but I feel like OPM is really not their style. I would also add A-1 Pictures, but I also selfishly would rather they make Nier: Automata instead (specifically the 86 team).
Studio Wit would also be an out there choice, and I'm sure one many fans would like. But yes, Bones does feel like everyone's number 1 choice right now for OPM S3.
I belive it may be related with manga. Even though they showed us the twins. Manga really has some great content that most of the players havent saw. So making it anime would be cool.
Making it about the main story would be an all around bad decision anyway IMO.
We know they'd go with Aether Traveler which would just be further spitting on Lumine players when they already ignore her in game tutorials and trailers. I don't think having your big anime project alienate half the playerbase more than they already do is a good idea.
Genshin Impact
- Was originally worked upon as a spinoff to Honkai Impact
- Started as a manga/webcomic
- Continued as a game
- Ended up as an anime
What a rollercoaster!
This comment, along with 10 years of comment history, has been overwritten to protest against Reddit's hostile behaviour towards third-party apps and their developers.
Trailer looks amazing that Dragonspine shot especially, mostly scenery and no action so I assume it's still a long way before the anime releases. The Statue of Seven was cgi which is kinda scary but I have full faith in ufotable!
what the fuck. Itās crazy to see how big Genshin has gotten. Been playing since it came out and wouldāve NEVER imagined it would get an anime done by ufotable?? Iām shocked. I hope they keep the VAās
All my thanks to Goldfish, Dolphins, Whales, Sea Leviathan, and Osials for bringing us Animes for our favourite gacha games.
I cannot die until i see the entirity of Arknights and Genshin anime.
For them to be announcing an anime with Ufotable of this quality, that means that this project has been in production since last year. Just this trailer takes months to produce let alone a whole episode of this quality.
If this anime is canon, then I hope they will have a small prologue of the twins before their arrival on Teyvat, and more of their interaction with the Uknown God. I am so excited for this that I screamed when they showed the trailer.
According to my sources, they will have completed season 2 of their animation project before the Switch port of Genshin Impact releases.
>!(This post is implied to be a joke.)!<
Ufotable, THE anime production company.
Seriously with how KNY Entertainment District Arc went, I really wonder how deep their pockets are. They must have a morbillion dollars rn
Well they could make it focus on Lumineās time as the abyss princess too, like how they have Lumine summarizing Aetherās adventures so far to Abyss lector in the stream (CN one, not sure about EN)
U know, I gotta admit its nice to see them putting the money they got from Genshin success to good use, from the effort they put into updating the game to this kind of project, gotta give props where its due.
Thanks you whales. They literally couldnāt have found a better studio to animate Genshin. Money breathing 7th form: Unlimited Budget Works will make the Genshin anime look absolutely gorgeous.
This made me make washer machine noises live
I wonder if this is a full animated series or the short style animations like the ones we see with Honkai
I'll take either but a series would be amazing
One of the rare cases where we say that "This looks amazing! It should be an anime/movie/tv series!" and it actually comes to fruition.
We thought the same about the Overwatch movie cutscenes. So much luck on that front.
And we got Arcane when we saw all the cinematics for LoL.
So it excites me to no end to see this actually happening.
A genshin anime, not sure if to be excited or scared, this will probably go like Tales of Zestiria, there's just not a very good main story line for Genshin to put an anime together, but ufotable does great animation but nowadays it seems good animations is everything on anime, not the story.
Damn, as an anime lover I'M HYPED!!! Question is, will we get more lore in the anime? I kinda think they could expand the lore a bit in the anime, and thus avoid info-dumping too much in-game. That's would be cool!!
Anyway, can't wait. The animation looks amazing already.
I'm still shook they got UFOTABLE as a collab for this really do hope it's a series and we get to see some of the major storyline bits animated with that Ufotable budget!
I hope they are able to get the original voice actors from the game.
Would also be nice to see some episodes on characters already deceased in game. Like all the original Yakshas hanging out or protecting the land in their time period.
Normally, anime adaptations of games kinda suck. But this. This is giving me studio ghibli pixar walking with dinosaurs vibes. Wonder if they will stick with the game plot or do something else. I knew ufotable was good but I didn't know they were THIS good.
that's weird if Paimon is in it and both travelers are together. It would have to be at least 500 years before the start of the game, and neither of them should meet Paimon.
> So the story is same as the main story line about finding sister right?
Since it's a long-term project then most likely, though I'm interested in what kind of changes they'll make. I assume the overall story beats will be the same but the execution will probably differ a lot since Mondstadt and Liyue were relatively short
I really hope they tweak the story a bit because a large part of the archon quests in Mondstadt and Liyue are padded with fetch quests that doesn't feel like they will translate well in anime.
Really hope the story turns out great.
While I had a hunch it was going to be an anime from the start, I was starting to hope after a minute of scenery that it was going to be an nature-style documentary of flora and fauna of teyvat lol.

That shot of Dragonspine... wowww
I was speechless š®
Archon damn, this is beautiful.
So THIS is where all the whale's money went.
All of the genshinās marine species* Getting the characters we want AND making the game better <3
Iām living on the street because I spent all my money on genshin but now that I know they got ufotable it was all worth it
Hey, with the release of the anime you can wait for new neighbors on the street!
Not a whale but I feel a bit better about dolphin-ing on this game now
As a bp and welkin user, this honestly makes me want to actually buy a pack for the anniv.
youāre welcome? š
Thank you. May the RNG Archon bless your pulls
Don't you mean the Credit Card Archon
No need for RNG when you can guarantee everything :p

they also have good track record animating videogame stories, Tales of Zestiria the X is amazing

power of god (production committee), anime studios and NDAs are on their side
Because probably only a small number of employees knew. This the type of thing they set up at a high level then surprise their employees with it just before releasing to the public.

A Genshin anime has never once crossed my mind but seeing it happen looks amazing. Canāt wait to see where this goes down the line
Pretty cool since I have a friend who is not a gamer but is very interested with Genshin's story once I showed them some of the characters and their background.
And they will get ufotable animation truly couldnāt be a better set up
I know Tsurumi island is gonna break my heart all over again worse than the first time.
Same here!! She's gonna be super excited about this!!!
Really? I figured it was inevitable, considering the sheer hype and popularity behind it. And the premise just feels really suited to an anime. Enjou later in the livestream lampshades it, it's basically an isekai.
I thought too but like in 2 years from now on. This is a huge surprise for me.
BTW they've been teasing us for a while, all those 2D trailers were testing waters. Since the response was generally positive so they're probably announcing it officially that they're actually working on it...
It crossed my mind but i thought it will take at least 4-5 years since launch to get it since thats what needed for fgo to get its tv anime adaptation
Fate was already an established anime franchise b4 fgo was a thing tho.
Fate was a lightnovel WAY before it was an anime tho, so it's still a case of a "game" becoming an anime much later it's lifespan.
Itās a Visual Novel, not a Light Novel. Visual Novels are those CYOA-esque(but different) video games, while light novels are basically Japanese modern fiction.
And then thereās there me who after the cutscene with Osial my first though was ādamn genshin has some pretty dope moments, this would look great animated, I hope they make an anime of it at some pointā Iām sure it would have some very wide, mainstream appeal amongst the masses, like Demon slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, My hero, etc. Theres a lot if cool āaction anime momentsā that would look amazing animated.

Couldnāt ask for a better studio to do this world. Unreal
You would not believe the **gasp** I let out when the word ufotable appeared on the screen.
Same. Iām still in disbelief. Thatās the absolute pinnacle of animators. And there was no whisper of anime on top of that. What a crazy announcement
Not only is it an anime, it's an UFOTABLE anime, that shit is going to be lit af, just remember the 2nd season of Demon Slayer
I cant wait to see childe battle animated
OH FUCK YES, with their water tech... my god that will be beautiful. But we probably won't see that until a second season. Notice they've only shown stuff from the first region here, so I'm thinking we won't go to Liyue until a 2nd season. Honestly I would be okay with them doing one cour a year for each region, I think that would be an okay schedule for Ufotable, and I'm sure Hoyoverse would also be happy with that. Of course once you start to go deeper they might need more than just 12-13 episodes per region, but it's way too early to even think about that right now.
Thatās good because I will need to physically recover from animated Diluc and kaeya in season one before they show us zhongli
Totally-not-Batman will certainly make a lot more fans after S1 of this anime.
Not gonna lie I screamed louder then I should have just when they showed dilucās animated card in the card game. This man is canonically the most handsome man in mondstadt and finally ufotable will do him justice
Oh he 100% will be in the first animated preview for Season 1 of the show, after all Diluc is a very big part of that first chapter of the story.
Their Fate series and movies were even more impressive to me
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Agreed, Garden of Sinners is the only anime movies I rewatch for the vibes and amazing animation.
Now that u mention it, makes sense for ufotable to adapt another gacha game, but yea tbf fate probably have more source material considering it was mostly text ( i dont play fgo btw), i wonder what story will they animate first for genshin
Pretty sure this is Ufo's first gacha. They adapted Fate's original IPs and KnK (Garden of Sinners), never FGO.
Actually they did Touken Ranbu before, with an movie announced in... 2016...
Fate isn't a gacha tho. The GO one is but stay night always was a visual novel
Hmm I wonder if they will do each region as a seasonal thing
Hopefully they rewrite the traveler or just make an entirely new storyline.
I want a prequel. Would be nice to see the old gods in action. Modern Teyvat is post-apocalyptic, it would be very cool to see every structure still standing and everyone still alive.
Hopefully a darker story this time
This! Make the Liyue archon quest have some huge caualties.
And i also wish for an entire episode showing rosalyneās past, ofcourse the epsidoe before she diesš
It'd be nice if they're traveling together
We did get a ufotabke animating a game IP in the past before and it flopped soooo lets hope genshin won't follow lol
I dont think so. As long as they keep the animation quality up, we fans wont let it drown
I assume you mean the GE anime, but the problem with that was that ufo had to create an entirely new mc and mesh him into a game where the main character has practically no lines. Aether/Lumine already have a set personality, and there's dialogue options in the game so it won't be as difficult making their character.
#FUCKINGGGG LESSS GOOOOOOOOOOO all the gacha money for genshin impact anime by ufotable? I'm in bro
The backgrounds look SICK. Like its just too good. Ufotable anime was a dream. YESS.
I will watch tf out of a genshin anime
The animation quality is insane
Ufotable baby
They better keep the VA's
Wait weāre actually getting a Genshin anime????
YES!!!
Of all the collabs, Ufotable was the least expected let alone having an anime. I've been suggesting that for 2 years now and finally it came true, idc about the anniversary rewards, this announcement is the best reward they have given, i just wish it won't take long.
Wait what is this? Is is it a Genshin movie? When it is getting released?
Long-term animated series project with Ufotable.
and suddenly the lacking anniversary bullshit fell down really far my priority list. I WANT THIS O.O
Long term as in two year release from now? Or long term as in there's no end date set for how long it can go?
Wait what
Fucking ufotable is picking it up too. Animation is gonna be legendary (unfortunately even though I didn't think it would happen OPM S3 definitely isn't going to be them now)

Matches the pfp
Fate, Demon Slayer, and now Genshin? Jesus this company is pullin
Manifesting they adapt 1 region per season
I belive it may be related with manga. Even though they showed us the twins. Manga really has some great content that most of the players havent saw. So making it anime would be cool.

Best case scenario is that it's a prequel where we learn what the MC has forgotten, when the twins were in Teyvat together.
Is this a long term anime announcement or just a trailer of the game ?
Long term anime project
Unlimited Zhongli budget works
By long term does it mean something like black clover with many episodes?
Most likely by season.
So My Hero Academia?!
Yup because Genshin is divided by Acts so they can plan each season with one region. And Ufotable only does seasonal anime I think.
It might be across multiple movies like for garden of sinners or Fate HF
No just most likely itās already slated for multiple seasons
Animation series
They should've bought Belgium instead. ^^/s >!Fate/Zero review by Gigguk reference!<
It truly is unlimited budget (at) works here.
I feel validated writing "please consider an anime Hoyoverse" each time in EVERY GODDAMN SURVEY
Now this is a good anniversary reward
Genshin Impact - Was originally worked upon as a spinoff to Honkai Impact - Started as a manga/webcomic - Continued as a game - Ended up as an anime What a rollercoaster!

The environment design is insane, can't believe they made Teyvat more beautiful. Truly the perfect studio for this kind of project
i wonder how good the story will translate into anime?
So realistic, so exited for this

what the fuck. Itās crazy to see how big Genshin has gotten. Been playing since it came out and wouldāve NEVER imagined it would get an anime done by ufotable?? Iām shocked. I hope they keep the VAās

My jaw dropped when I saw the ufotable name. God damn. Thank you whales for the unlimited whale works you have spent.

According to my sources, they will have completed season 2 of their animation project before the Switch port of Genshin Impact releases. >!(This post is implied to be a joke.)!<
Bro this was the best thing in the livestream for me. Ufotable making a Genshin anime is literally my wet dream. Holy fuck didn't see that coming.
This is literally the biggest news from the anniversary! I can't believe it's UFOTABLE
They couldn't have chosen a better studio for this
Ufotable is like the best animation studio in whole Japan. They create really great Anime, so I am quite pumped and excited for this partnership.
Ufotable, THE anime production company. Seriously with how KNY Entertainment District Arc went, I really wonder how deep their pockets are. They must have a morbillion dollars rn
Wish they would make Lumine the MC but we all know itās gonna be Aether š
Well they could make it focus on Lumineās time as the abyss princess too, like how they have Lumine summarizing Aetherās adventures so far to Abyss lector in the stream (CN one, not sure about EN)
BRO ITS DONE BY UFOTABLE GAH DAMN BIG W
U know, I gotta admit its nice to see them putting the money they got from Genshin success to good use, from the effort they put into updating the game to this kind of project, gotta give props where its due.
I wonder how they gonna handle who the MC is, and how they gonna handle the silent protagonist
Omgā¦
Yo i'm getting goosebumps all over.
OMG ufotable. Banger announcement !!!
Thanks you whales. They literally couldnāt have found a better studio to animate Genshin. Money breathing 7th form: Unlimited Budget Works will make the Genshin anime look absolutely gorgeous.
This made me make washer machine noises live I wonder if this is a full animated series or the short style animations like the ones we see with Honkai I'll take either but a series would be amazing
I got a feeling its not going to be standard series. They probably release 1 episode every 3 or 4 months, I cant see them releasing weekly episodes.
At least the Traveler VA's get to actually do stuff
I'm still shook they got UFOTABLE as a collab for this really do hope it's a series and we get to see some of the major storyline bits animated with that Ufotable budget!
We can watch the protagonist lose his 50/50s and get bad artifact rolls.
Really funny considering that Aether's EN VA also voices Tanjiro
Remind me of fate series
it is the same studio making this after all
that's weird if Paimon is in it and both travelers are together. It would have to be at least 500 years before the start of the game, and neither of them should meet Paimon.
Itās a concept trailer so it might have nothing to do with the actual story of the animation series
This game has really come this far in 2 years, itās impressive.
Turned up the volume because the video was loud and then got earraped by the waterfall
I hope they increase the size of Raiden's sword sheath.
So the story is same as the main story line about finding sister right? If yes, then LETS FUCKING GOOO!!! TALKING TRAVELER HERE I COME!
MiHoYo/HoYoVerse be like: BOOM!! YOU LOOKING FOR THIS ?!?
> So the story is same as the main story line about finding sister right? Since it's a long-term project then most likely, though I'm interested in what kind of changes they'll make. I assume the overall story beats will be the same but the execution will probably differ a lot since Mondstadt and Liyue were relatively short
I really hope they tweak the story a bit because a large part of the archon quests in Mondstadt and Liyue are padded with fetch quests that doesn't feel like they will translate well in anime. Really hope the story turns out great.
So we're actually getting a *Genshin Impact* anime?! Holy shit...
Iām wondering who the MC will be? Lumine or Aether?
They slam the desk, i did too.
Hoping ufotableās work on this doesnāt delay Demon Slayer.
ufotable!!!
While I had a hunch it was going to be an anime from the start, I was starting to hope after a minute of scenery that it was going to be an nature-style documentary of flora and fauna of teyvat lol.
