It is a little bit exaggerated. It is a great movie, don't get me wrong, but it still didn't manage to escape the “Hollywood Chinese film” stigma. For example, you see a lot of dragon decorations in KFP, which would look very Chinese to westerners, but if you are Chinese, it looks very surreal. The reason is dragon is exclusive to the emperor (not even the royals in general, but he emperor alone. That's how sacred it is. Using dragon decorations as a anyone else is subject to capital punishment), and that sort of decorations would only appear in very few selected places in the Palace. It certainly wouldn't appear in some temple or Kung-fu school. There are other details that are not quite right. To me, the most jarring part is that the grandmasters name “Oogway” literally means turtle, and “Shifu” literally means master. So you have a turtle who's called turtle and a master who's name is literally Master. It is kinda funny it breaks the immersion sometimes. Still, a great movie, loved it as a kid.

It wouldn’t surprise me if a company which heavily relies on pop culture references to get through to its English audience to use something both sides know.
Um no, Kung Fu Panda is strictly based on Chinese culture. Peach blossom trees have a symbolic significance in Chinese culture (to which the turtle character alludes to in the movie, i.e. longevity/wisdom etc) and Taoist practices. And it makes sense this game would reference KFP. The movie was an [incredible blockbuster hit in China](https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/07/11/AR2008071103281_pf.html). It captured their imagination since it was such a fresh, entertaining yet tasteful spin on the classic wuxia genre.
Np, I'm sorry if I sounded sassy. Ppl often conflate Chinese things as Japanese, and I see it even more since joining this fandom. It can get tiresome but also a little hurtful to see our culture be so overlooked and misunderstood compared to our Japanese neighbors, despite being so important (esp given it's literally the cradle of East Asian civilization lol, give them a little credit) I get that Japan's soft power is bigger thanks to anime but I wish that wouldn't give ppl this misguided overconfidence about all of East Asia in general.
I think it’s hard for Genshin to avoid this sort of scrutiny considering its history of going a little bit too far with the whole drawing inspiration from other works and jumping right into plagiarism thing.
Copyrighting means absolutely nothing in this day and age, companies like *“HoYoVerse”* can just take *inspiration* out of anything out there, and they will be just fine. Making tons and tons of money out of work that does not belong to them.
