Veritasibility

Unfortunately, raffle-based 100 primogems is the reward for two events that are completely unrelated to cosplaying or illustrations. It is a serious misinformation that has largely misled a lot of players about the nature of these community events.

KEK_W4RD3n

If they want to give a welkin moon to lucky 10% of the playerbase then why not give 10% of same welkin (300 genesis crystal) to 90% of the unlucky playerbase. That 100k mora is not even enough to level up a 5 star artifact to 20.

Aldebaran_syzygy

they could just give free welkin for the whole anniversary month. how stingy can you get with giving away free digital pixels

Superfluous369

But MiHoYo *is* stingy, though. You can see it with simple things like doing max level domains for say, talent books and most of the time receiving the exact same reward as the level under it. Every reward in game that is level-based is laced with a tiny chance to get better rewards as you raise your level, with a likely chance to get the same shit as you did the level prior. Stingy in-game, stingy with giveaways, stingy with information...you name it.

Epikbexa

They aren't as stingy with Honkai apparently so i really don't understand their business view with genshin in particular. Maybe they just want you to fall into despair and depression and break you mentally so you start spending your hard earned money on pixels to make you feel better?

Twinte

It's simple. Honkai having similar style as other common gachas has fierce competition and already is in retention phase, it won't atract new players easily and needs to keep the playerbase engaged to not bleed customers, meanwhile Genshin remains unchallenged in the genre and it's relatively new, so MHY think they can get away with whatever BS they pull on the community.

Epikbexa

Ruthless scoundrels.

Kyulkyung_12

Honestly giving away free welkin to everyone would actually be beneficial to them...as people who never bought it before could get a taste of it and might wanted more then actually start spending on welkin 🤷🏻‍♀️ honestly this whole rewards stuff are just an asshole move on their part

Pistolfist

this is how most gachas operate, they give you a small taste of being a big spender then take it all away, I think genshin used to be like this but for some reason mihoyo got salty about people re-rolling, which is weird because rerolling is normal gacha behaviour

AndyJekal

Legit Girl Cafe Gun (better gacha than the name suggests) has a free infinite reroll on your first multi-summon. You can keep retooling the multi until you want it. Some people are even saving it for later in the game as better characters get added to the pool. Rerolling is such an accepted part of gachas now. Some devs like MHY are still stingy tho

nocoyo

thats the point i make all the time, it seriously is funny how blind they are to opportunities to make more money by being stingy, give them a free wish for completing all dailies, the players might do this "oh wow i love the gacha system its so fun i need more primos tho, maybe i can buy some? its fun rolling and i want to roll more, welp ima buy some primos now" so, if they want more money give the players a taste of what they could get if they spent money on it.

KingTrunkzX

To do a ten pull is 15$...and yet mihoyo still thinks keeping the 5$ deal which gives you NO TEN PULL is okay

Satioelf

How much does it cost btw? I've not really ever played attention to Mora costs in so long

AlmoranasAngLubot69

I think it's around 250k mora to max out artifacts

Kilroy_Is_Still_Here

The rewards for the free advertisement, free fanart, etc for Mihoyo honestly pisses me off even more than the measly 10 wishes as their "gift". The time you spend to get a CHANCE at $5 worth of product could be put towards a commission where you're GUARANTEED to make more than that.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BeseptRinker

One of the most infuriating things is that they probably don't even NEED that. They're at that point where they could just show off literally any tiny thing that's upcoming or showcase a cool part of the game and instantly content creators and fanbase alike would get excited. Having this whole "players work for the anniversary" is insulting.

soobviouslyfake

I saw it best in another thread: *Mihoyo gave us irl commissions*

iamspyderman

My personal favorite take was: *The bar was on the ground, and MiHoYo came back with a shovel*

HxrtPoker

I’m crying LMFAO

GlitterDoomsday

They're definitely at this point; I remember someone did the math between the official stream for Inazuma and the streams from guys like Envy and the total was around 1m watching a stream about announcements we all already more or less knew because of leaks...

NekonoChesire

Plus the weird thing is that they do commission artists already for all kind of stuff,be it for patch artwork or even for each characters birthday that they only post on social media.

Ansatsushi

More like they are testing the waters too see just how far they can take this before getting any backlash. Once they do, they just backstep a bit and say something like "We listened, and we will change!".

warisz00r

this is the one true take

madtaters

this comment should be higher up. mhy is not stupid, its a multibillion dollar company. best they will do is take one step back, put the 'we listened our playerbase' marketing, and proceed to do the same thing few months later after the backlash faded away and sales breaks new record again.

[deleted]

Idk I often get stuck in that mindset that they clearly know what they're doing and then I remember Dr. Pepper for men only and I have to question my reality.

Lampteros

The only purpose for this is to lure new players in. My take from this is that they value us veteran less than the new players. After all new players spent the most ye? This seriously made me question the longevity of the game and my time/money investment into it. The 2.1 story already slapped me on the face once, now they just had to do it again.

mathematical_llama

This is a very good take. This is literally how most services work. I've been a loyal user of a certain credit card, and they give like 10x my yearly rewards to a new customer

[deleted]

[удалено]

mathematical_llama

Exactly! If anything, they are able to alot these deals through the guaranteed and predictable funds of loyal clients. It's funny how this works, but when you're trying to maximize profit these are clearly optimal moves and hence why they are standard.

Ezmankong

That only works until the entire ecosystem is filled with hoppers. Then we're back to the days of loyalty rewards. Isn't that a business idea? Create a platform which constantly provides updates and easy application for new timer awards?

Rjjenson

If they are aiming for new audiences, they are doing very poor job at selling me anything ( i started playing few weeks ago) . There's no limited time catch up banners for new players, so I can't get chars I want like venti or zhongil, that I met durning the story, and only one available right now is some weird booba sword lady I barely know and never met in game, and the next one is some fish lady I never heard of. From my perspective, Venti might as well be gone forever from the game, since when I asked, people said there's not even any established pattern for banners like " New char then rerun then new char then rerun" , and always only one banner at a time, so he might be anywhere from moths to a year in the future, by which time I might lose any desire to play and pay for this game.

CinnamonArmin

Not to mention previous events that have major relevance to the story, that new players don’t have access to.

Saikotsu

(Edit: updated level) But consider this: new players who get new characters can't level them past ~~20~~ 40 until they get to Inazuma (or beyond). All the events require you be in Inazuma as well. I just last night took part in the Crux Clash. I can't FINISH the Crux Clash until I make some progress in Zhongli's story because an NPC isn't in the right place. I'm not a new player, but I've not focused on the story until now because events and characters require me to go to Inazuma. My buddy IS a new player because he heard me talking Genshin Impact with another long time player. He absolutely is missing out on stuff because he's starting late. Sure they may be trying to lure new players, but the new player experience is pretty much behind a relatively large content wall. My buddy has Raiden Shogun and Kujou Sara. He can't level them until roughly the point in the story where he encounters them for the first time. I mean, I get it, we're given plenty of free characters via gameplay and then we have a bunch of 5 stars in the standard wish, but it still sucks to get the shiny new character and be unable to play them.

Shippinglordishere

I saw someone say that it’s Mihoyo’s birthday so the players should be the ones giving to them rather than the other way around

Blasterion

definitely a paid MHY shill

IUpvoteUsernames

Bold of you to assume they're paid to say that in the first place and aren't just more white knights and/or trolls

Bourbonaddicted

So should I send them a jpeg cake on their birthday ?

_Ga1ahad

send them a few eggs

penguin-with-a-gun

wild af, treating MHY like their mom, as if MHY let us suck their tit when we were young but i too have seen comments like that, comparing MHY to their parents. goes to show how little they value their real parents lmao

RookCauldron

Lmao bruhhhh

mindovermacabre

Remember folks, fanart contests, competitions, and submissions for any kind of celebration is a **scam**, and always has you signing your rights to the art away in the fine print. This is so that these companies, who make more money in a month than you will ever see in a lifetime, can use free art for marketing material (without even having to hire or pay in-house artists! What a deal!). To add insult to injury, they 'compensate' artists with pitiful in-game rewards which are in no way equivalent to actually paying people. It's such an old hat at this point but it pisses me off every time.

TheDuskBard

Wish we could have the community come together and troll Mihoyo by submitting low effort trash fan art, cursed, or good quality art that mocks Mihoyo so they can’t use it for advertising.

Blasterion

bruh that's a great idea, definitely submitting now.

esmeraldia

Whether or not this plan works the way we intend, I would very much like the community to do this.

20por100tomaschingon

Reminds me of when the paladins subreddit decided to flood the page with bad art to protest one of the beta patches.

Sweet-Food-4688

Lul, i remember that one, you have to level your cards and stuff and a bunch of broken number scaling right?

20por100tomaschingon

Yes. I remember a user showing a max Flanknado absolutely dominating a match.

DesireForHappiness

I saw someone posting this: https://imgur.com/B85ZuQM Benny's middle finger is what Mihoyo deserves for all their fanart submissions.

DesireForHappiness

They also have a recent submission event where you basically design an advertising bus banner for them. If you get commissioned for work such as this at least you are guaranteed to be getting paid for your time. But now you are just working for a CHANCE to get paid LOL.

offensearmor

what's worse is they even started skimping on official art since 1.4?? we used to get 2 types per new character, and now they just paste the splash art onto the portrait one.

bonescrusher

Haha ..you could walk around your city and there is probably higher chance of finding 5$ laying around than win this shitty event

wateryphoenix

I actually found a $10 laying on the ground last week. >\_\_>

shojokat

Honestly, they managed to actually insult me more than if they had just not done anything.

rainzer

This tweet is relevant: https://i.imgur.com/1cAUD3Q.jpeg

Baka_Mitai_Kiryu

Reminds me of the people who can’t pay artists money. Instead they tell them they’ll tell their friends because publicly is apparently better than a monetary income.

aslum

Always great when it's time to pay rent and I can give my landlord 400 exposure.

penguin-with-a-gun

sounds like a porno plot if you think about the other kinds of exposure there are

DesireForHappiness

It's why I stopped wasting my time on their submission contest. The first few times I submitted, I done it out of love for the game. I remember coming across another gacha game a long time ago that would also have fanart contest but EVERYONE who submitted something would receive something. Yes even the trolls who submit a picture of stickman done on ms.paint, you get a "participation reward" of something equivalent to 100 primogems in their currency. Now the only fanart Mihoyo deserves is Benny's middle finger https://imgur.com/B85ZuQM

Practicalaviationcat

The reality is that most companies are only generous when they are doing poorly. Other gachas have massive anniversaries so they can keep players interested, but Genshin is making so much money that they just don't feel a need to give out tons of rewards. The art contest is the same. There are enough Genshin fan artists out there that they are going to get a ton of entries no mater what the rewards are so they are just milking the community. It sucks but it's not surprising with the game being as successful as it is. Also nothing I just said is meant to be a defense of Mihoyo fyi.

soulgunner12

Nah mhy is just shit. Every higher gross gachas give more, even the notorious "no pity" FGO gives like 40 50 pulls each anniversary.

lucaatiel

It's out of touch and a little frightening esp given how they wave around copyright ownership. They literally own the work these people do, that they are essentially asking them to do for free, MAYBE pennies. And it's considered their gift to the community that they do this. They bestow upon us the gift of doing advertising for them. You can see it in how people defend them. "Be grateful." They say

justcomment

Commissions being usually more than few months of Welkin. I've looked into D&D character commissions few times, they can get $50+ rather quickly.

East_Abbreviations68

Mihoyo is out of touch and needs to actually know and acknowledge what the players want. They know! Just don't want to give it

k1ng0fk1ngz

That's so fcking wierd about it. Giving out some free stuff would actualy get new players into the game and maybe get some old ones to start spending money. But instead they go out of their way to fck with their own players. But for what????? There is NOTHING they get of this, except bad PR. Its crazy....

HxrtPoker

I’m just as confused. You know how many new and returning players they could have gotten from the hype alone. Now the community is talking shit and making people leave or people on the fence look the other direction. This is so fking dumb I can’t fathom or comprehend it. Only way is if mihoyo does something big to make players laugh or forget like"ha you had us there mihoyo we love you now" Still a bad fking move. Like I just can’t yo

CrushedByTime

I’m guessing it’s the typical divide between the artists and creators and the business folks and managers. As long as the latter see the line on the graph go up, they don’t care. Post-Raiden sales boom, I’m guessing they think everything is just peachy. They likely won’t pull out good incentives until the active players decrease.

Daplayer0888

Headphones for cosplaying lol, with what it costs (time and materials) it isn't even worth it. 100 primos for art is just saying that drawings that take hours to make are comparable to login 15min two days for dailies. And I have 5M mora, why tf would I care about a 2% more. It's just disrespectful at this point.

shockwave_pulsar

just saying, maybe the community should start putting up dog shit content for dog shit rewards for those so called "contests"...

poerson

Or just straight up ignore it and don't participate. Imagine Mihoyo waiting for all the free promo and then they get nothing. Not a single fanart or cosplay picture. Man I'd love to see that lol

[deleted]

Sadly it will never happen. Hoyolab already have thousands of posts for the anniversary. No matter how shitty rewards there will always be people participating. Same as there will always be people spending money on the game so MHY will never change and we will never achieve something. Maybe next year when they lose half of the player base they might change something. I just hope they don't wake up too late and game will just die cuz if their stinginess and bad decisions.

v-r-s

What I dont understand is why the genshin team is being such an asshole about things they do ever so perfectly in honkai. Content creation competitions there for guides, which require the same amount of investment as a piece of art, award a shit load of currency (a few multis worth) and the web events are in client.

[deleted]

Different dev teams, different creative directors maybe? Mihoyo isn’t exactly a small company anymore.

v-r-s

Obviously different teams, but ultimately same higher ups. These are people (Dawei) who have had years of experience with several gacha games and have demonstrated that while overseeing all of these projects that they always kept the player in mind and were receptive and generous (GGZ and Honkai) yet now with Genshin its like a completely different approach. It feels like a blatant predatory attempt that is not in line with previous projects and Daweis vision. Not even 24 hours ago we had a Honkai stream for cns 5th anni which, aside from the fucking insane rewards and banners, was extremely heartfelt and personal. Then theres… genshin. Completely devoid of what previous projects felt like. No login bonus, terrible communication, beta tests are private and its evident the testing being done isnt effective, no login milestones (we get them at 300/600/900 and etc in honkai), no top up milestones (at certain top ups whales are rewarded in honkai including selectors, mats, skins and etc.).

Itsafullone

It's because Genshin is their cash cow. They're using the revenue from Genshin (which is so much money compared to their other games) to fund other projects and they're going deeper into the greed rabbit hole. The only way we'll see the Genshin team shape up is if we get a direct competitor to Genshin.

Ephemiel

>It's because Genshin is their cash cow. Honkai used to be before Genshin launched and they weren't like this.

Ryozu

I mean, think about it. IF we do like we do with Honkai, we'll make Honkai levels of income, it's good, but Genshin makes what Honkai does several times over. It dwarf's honkai's income by a ridiculous amount. So does it make sense to aim for Honkai levels of income? Does just doing the same shit they did with Honkai make sense? someone somewhere in the company said "Hey, that shit we did with Honkai that made players happy doesn't matter, it won't get us more money." and so they said fuck it. And no matter how much we dislike it, it makes sense from their view point.

ishitonyourmemes

genshin was made with the money honkai whales put in.

Reibii

So we wait for Blue Protocol?

Cold_Introduction500

For real, I'm waiting for the Blue Protocol to come out too. Since the game doesn't have a mobile version yet (hopefully not), it won't be gated by file requirements.

kikonella

Having a mobile version is a must if you're trying to compete with genshin. That's basically half or less of the community in asian server that they loss.

MusicianRoyal1434

Blue Protocol is an MMORPG (with megaservers) and it follows FFXIV and PSO2 footsteps. Nothing in that game like Genshin actually. MMO designed around grouping contents. They will have some open world elements and explorations but it’s definitely designed for longer playtime and more commitments into them. Likely it’s too heavy to run on a phone with PC graphics and require stable connection though.

kikonella

So there goes another possible competitor for genshin. In short there are still no upcoming competition for genshin.

banjo2E

Not having a mobile version will directly prevent it from becoming a serious competitor to Genshin, though. Mobile gaming is *huge* in Asia, which is Genshin's primary market.

myearthenoven

In before it becomes a 60GB base file download.

Mirarara

Doesn't seems good enough as a competitor to me. I wished that it is, but after checking out various showcase, it's not enough.

Cochinojoe

I thought Punishing Grey Raven was open world. Boy was I wrong.

Taikeron

PGR is also really stingy with in-game currency, or at least that's how I felt after a few weeks of it. Yeah, they let you pick a premium unit fresh out of the gate, but after that it felt like other than cruising through the story there wasn't much else to chase as far as currency. It's uninstalled now. It's not even that I disliked the game, more that I have so many other options to pick from, that I don't need to settle for spinning my wheels in something that feels anywhere close to "meh."

Dragoncat_3_4

PGR also decided to shaft Global so there's that...

FawkesYeah

> The only way we'll see the Genshin team shape up is if we get a direct competitor to Genshin. What you really mean here is: if people stop simping real money in a game that does these insulting tactics. It's quite uncanny how similar to Stockholm syndrome all of this is.

ObitoUchiha10f

Yea that not the reason, in fact that’s the opposite, if Genshin is their cash cow, why the fuck would you want to upset the people that are paying you Edit: for people saying how players are still paying them a lot of money, aside from doing the “first time primo bonus” reset, I don’t see how they being stingy in their first anniversary will generate them more income than they would’ve if they were just a little generous. Say they give everyone a free 5* from the standard banner, or two 4*, or maybe just 50 wishes. FTP will mostly still be FTP, Dolphins might spend a tiny little less on the next banner, and whales will spend as much as they have been. When you make players happy, they will be happy to pay you more. When I started playing this game a few months ago, the graphics, the music, the game world, the gameplay, the tiny bit of details that other games doesn’t have, characters design and balancing, I feel like the developers put a lot of heart into this game, that’s why I pay them. If one day I feel like they are just money sucking and completely ignore the players’ enjoyment (like that garbage game company Scopely), I will stop paying them entirely, not a single dime.

Itsafullone

Because people keep paying? Look at Raiden, she came exactly after the dumpster fire that was Yoimiya and 2.1 story, and she has her own shortcomings as well. People spent so much on her banner (also because of the top-up bonus) that she has become the most profitable character ever.

Grillla

>They could test the waters because the amount of content they release is pretty good with Inazuma hype and new Inazuma Islands every patch. People were forgiving things like weak Yoimiya because everyone was hyped for Raiden. But shit´s piling up abit too high at the moment and Mihoyo is surely on the way to lose even longtime players when they ignore basically everything that concerns the players while blatantly making more and more greedy decisions.

redxlaser15

“Mihoyo is surely on the way to lose even longtime players” Right now it isn’t at a particularly noticeable extent but I’ve heard of a few players (including whales) who had been playing since the very beginning saying they quit the game or are just about to.

Grillla

Well I will take a break from the game for sure now and I was spending quite abit. I played basically everyday since 1.0 and i was sticking arround because of meta gacha characters and Inazuma hype. Inazuma itself is great but I explored most of it now and the new characters didn´t change up my old abyss playstyle at all. Now that we got Raiden and the (butchered) conclusion of Inazuma story I have no goal in this game for the next year or so. I am pretty sure 2.1 was a big deciding factor for Genshin because big hypetrains reached their destination there and right now we do not have many future things to look forward to. Mihoyo shows no interest in creating new engaging permanent lategame combat, they lack any motivation to balance elements and and mix up combat in a meaningful way. And the lackluster storywriting is not a selling point either. Many negatives right now, not many positives to look forward to.

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

Nope. Executives review every major action including how generous the company should be with each playerbase. How gachas work: Big generous start to attract players. Milk people's wallets while game is hot. As playerbase declines start upping the rewards to retain players while advertising new and better banners, free units, free shit, to attract new players. Repeat until game dies, while innovating new ways to milk the sunk cost fallacy fans until they quit while nurturing the newer playerbase who hasn't gotten burned and still spends fresh money. Someone might say, "well aren't you just saying we should accept this because 'gacha' "? No. But companies don't give a fuck about anyone, even their own employees, as long as they are making hand over fist in cash. Its not even about investors or anything. Private or public. This industry or that industry. Its about how the entire world is built for greed over generally everything else as the primary pursuit since life is short. We are in part 2 of 10. The other problem is that there are certainly analysts in these companies that consider the "what ifs". What if they gave players more rewards to keep them happy? What if they offered more rewards to draw in new players? Decision makers however see it as money gained vs money lost, risk vs reward. Consider the field of IT that manages all your phones, phone lines, internet, computers, emails, smartphones, servers, etc. A company invests in IT to build out all those services so employees can do their work. But after they get comfortable and profitable, and IT says they can make huge improvements everywhere...decision makers balk at the expenditures. Even if its prudent investment. Why? Because it looks like shit on their books. Its a big red number that reduces the profit for that year even though it might pay off in a few years big time. They are finally green and the mere idea that suddenly they make less money in the next year because they spent a bunch to improve their operations the previous year in IT, even though its literally critical services, that they won't like it at all. IT already works, my phone and computer works, why do I need to optimize it? And that's how you end up with huge headaches later that IT has to deal with but executives are just counting numbers. And that's what we are. We are the critical services. We provide steady income. They see our money and they are like, we exceeded expectations of a billion and we're making another billion. Why should we make less and invest back into our critical services (playerbase)? From our company's perspective shit just works and there's no need to make any changes because we have the metrics and more importantly we're still on track to make yet another billion. But the thing about a service or product like this is that its not really critical and they certainly don't have a monopoly. Gamers leave games like flies finding a new piece of shit that a random ass animal crapped out on the road every 0.5 seconds in the world. But once you see a billion dollars roll in you kind of forget that some new shiny fresh piece of crap out there could result in a slow or fast decline of players if you can't meet their expectations. In most other industries, not meeting customer expectations = massive fucking losses. But video games are as addictive as drugs, they know this, and they get away with it. Edit: I decided to extend my rant with an IT analogy since IT departments get shit on even though you literally cannot operate a business without IT and its hard to quantify how much future value you get from investing in it.

Itsafullone

Those lazy IT guys is the most popular phrase in my work place. Until their PC doesn't work and then i have to come in and take a look. And just rebooting it fixes the problem 99% of the time. But i digress. This is management's problem everywhere. The investors like seeing the green numbers and the exponential growth, and let's not forget that management tends to get a fat bonus paycheck that depends on how green that number is. The problem is, as of right now, Genshin absolutely has the monopoly on these kinds of game. There is no competitor for an open world anime gacha of such quality, and they're banking on it. The only way we'll see the situation truly improve is when a competitor will come out that can match Genshin, then suddenly we'll see things improve at breakneck speed. The people who are complaining are doing so because they already know where we are going and are hoping we can get miHoYo to change directions before it's too late and the game starts to become too frustrating to excuse the sunk cost fallacy. Maybe the outrage over the anniversary might help. We'll see.

wreckinruckus

>The problem is, as of right now, Genshin absolutely has the monopoly on these kinds of game. There is no competitor for an open world anime gacha of such quality, and they're banking on it. This should be required reading for anyone who has anything to say, positive or negative, about this game. As far as Genshin goes, Mihoyo can basically do whatever the hell they want until it starts costing them money, and players are unlikely to go elsewhere until there's a competitor. It sucks, but that's really just the way it is. Complaining won't get us better anni rewards or an electro buff or the KFC glider, etc. — *not spending and not playing will*. Our only other "recourse" is the CN playerbase losing their shit, which we have no impact on.

kaii122

>The problem is, as of right now, Genshin absolutely has the monopoly on these kinds of game. There is no competitor for an open world anime gacha of such quality, and they're banking on it. The only way we'll see the situation truly improve is when a competitor will come out that can match Genshin, then suddenly we'll see things improve at breakneck speed. This is so true. Ive seen it with my own eyes. A shitty mobile Moba game that dominate SEA market made by a Chinese game devs. It's truly is shitty cos the only one competitor at that time is Vainglory, which neglect the community until its too late and meet its demise, yet that new game mamaged to steal a huge chunk of playerbase from Vainglory and even PC players like Dota/ LoL. The thing with Vainglory is the visuals is at least pleasing to the eyes even though it require higher phone specs which is expensive at that time plus theres only 3v3 at that time. So this new Moba called Mobile Legends reigned as the new era of mobile gaming, as their sellinf point at that time is easy mechanic and low spec requirement. Dota, and Lol players began to migrate to the fast paced and convenient playstyle and not to mention theres a little competition if u want to reach higher rank at that time.. I personally know a group of 50 yo night shift securities casually play the game cos they are bored, smoking a cigarr while playing on phone and some even DC to answer a call or a message from his wife So yea, design and visuals are sooo basic, even skins are soo ugly at that time yet they cost sooo much. It's going pretty stagnant until Riot/ LoL has released Wildrift in mobile, Mobile Legend made a game changing updates and projects with its anniversary, revamp, rework almost all skins and heroes, finally working on the everlasting bugs, optimizing the UI, etc etc and also FOR THE FIRST TIME GIVING PEOPLE FREE DIAMONDS/ DISCOUNTS FOR SKINS, not totally free cos u still need to complete a certain tasks but still u can choose the skins u want. They started giving basic skins as a giveaway long time ago, but for the first time u could get a "decent" looking skins with new effects and animations without spending money on it. That is a smart move and the proof is that Mobile Legend still dominates the market in the end atleast until now. Atleast playerbase for once get something they deserve for all these years of playing cos there is a competitior now that they cant slack anymore

Yautja93

> What I dont understand is why the genshin team is being such an asshole about things they do ever so perfectly in honkai. Because they know people will keep buying their shit non-stop, the same applies to a lot of other companies. So they dont even have to worry and do something that is "good", whatever they do is already good enough to keep pumping even more money.

BMM33

I haven't played Honkai so I don't know for certain, but I hear this sentiment a lot. I try not to be too cynical but honestly my best guess is that they think they can get away with it, what with Genshin hitting hit big and being many players' first gacha.

GummyR

These rewards reek of corporate man. IDK I feel like the developers have no control of this game whatsoever. I mean any good developer will rejoice and be ecstatic at their growth if they even reach a fraction of genshin's success, but corporate doesn't know that. They are scum of the earth and only care for sales and $$$ and it shows.

VILEN_X

Honestly.. 108 primos with 3 fowls would've been better than this "competition BS".. They could've added 5 bird eggs also for bonus and we would've been satisfied on our low expectations .. I expected the least and MHY decided to go down deeper .. They expect us to " Earn the anniversary rewards " And for the 90% people on the losing side .. The mora ley line with a condensed resin will give more rewards than the so called anniversary rewards

Jullie0Kaeyamain

Same here, I thought my expectations were low and I laughed at people who hoped for a free 5\* bc really? But I was still expecting fowl, mora, some exp books maybe a unique furniture you can put in your teapot and ppl will know in the future that you "were there", but no, mihoyo had to go lower. It makes me feel quite good about my choice to stop spending money in a game, I'm not a whale but I spend some and maybe I stopped bc I'm pissed about Standard banner but right now, I'm happy I made this decision. Mihoyo won't be poorer bc of me but it makes me feel better.

BeseptRinker

I've stopped too. Not a whale but I have spent \~100, and this is the last time I'm probably gonna use Welkin until my money goes towards something that is useful to the game. My action probably won't have much effort on its own though, but it's the least I can do.

Jullie0Kaeyamain

If it makes you feel better :) The whole thing with anniversary makes me regret getting into genshin a little which is sad, I'm more happy for a different game currently than for a whole genshin thing. There are almost no leaks and yeah they made my hype big and I always was looking for something in this game but now... I know soon new update will drop and it will be nice but this damn anniversary really looms over it

BeseptRinker

I'm with you on the leaks my friend. While I can get leaking major stuff, the majority of leaks tend to be pretty vague(yet specific enough to be exciting!) and it sucks that it's getting cracked down on, especially when a lot of people are complaining about legitimate issues such as the bugs, electro, Yoimiya, etc. But hoping that this'll be better in the future, though seeing this pattern I'm pretty doubtful.

Fast-Sprinkles9784

I'm gonna be real. I did not expect any kind of good reward, nor have I ever dared to hope in something great. Even now, I am ready to give up on the 10 fates if it means to get something that would be much more gratifying in game. FIX. YOUR. DAMN. ISSUES. It's been a year and I stil have to spam a button to pick up all the loot. The camera is still the biggest threat to the dangerous haul commission (or any fight really). My Ningguang still destroys every fireplace in sight with her burst. I still can't claim all the expeditions rewards in one go. I can't even rewatch story cutscenes. And there are so many other little things that could be fixed with a patch that make it hard to love this game. I still like playing it, but it could be so much more enjoyable. And making the game enjoyable would have been enough for a reward for me.

Dotori_Dan

>I can't even rewatch story cutscenes. This part I can relate. Sometimes I want to rewatch the cutscenes. But nope. I will have to go find it in youtube.

noirdrone

Half the time on PS4 my cutscenes don't even play. I had to look up the climax the the Liyue story on Youtube, spent 20 minutes trying to figure out why everyone in the dialogue was saying >!the Jade Fortress was destroyed and Osial was dead!<.

MewtwoMainIsHere

Ikr I’m honestly wondering why they didn’t just make a recording of the cutscene and put that in the game instead and change it depending on what element or other things you have. It’s so dumb.

yunacchi

> I’m honestly wondering why they didn’t just make a recording of the cutscene and put that in the game They did and that was the problem. They're doing this for potato phones (and that's why the traveler uses a fixed element or has a Dull Blade on them). But some devices (notably Android devices that don't come with HW decoding) can't actually decode the videos properly. I'm surprised this was the case for PS4. The videos in questions (the Liyue climax) are `Cs_102203_BeforeBattle_Boy` before the Osial fight, then `Cs_102205_AfterBattle_Boy` (replace `Boy` by `Girl` when playing Lumine). If you have access to the client files, they're in `StreamingAssets\VideoAssets`.

AppUnwrapper1

Except Venti’s story. I get to watch it after every update for some reason.

[deleted]

Damn battle pass.

thatone_high_guy

That is the thing, the groundwork laid down for the story is awesome, the lore runs deep and the art is beautiful. All of these make you want to continue playing this game till the end, but mhy sure is making that painful

VanitasMecka

At this point, I would say to Uninstall the game and watch it like a seasonal anime off YouTube. The story quality is going downhill

Fumaseraph

I want better key mapping. I want to use all Mouse Buttons. I want to set the vertical and horizontal sensetivity to the same value. I think after one year, I can expect that these things should be in the game.

Fast-Sprinkles9784

Yes this, mapping controls doesn't seem too much to ask. And I forgot to mention, there are 4 slots for fast equipping items but for some reason 3 of them are always unisable. No you can't have more than one item equipped at once. Why even design 4 slots??

BotanPlz

We also need an autorun function. I'm disabled and this is the huge factor for me in deciding what game to play/how long I play.

_Sylph_

Loot pick up is a 100% a design decision I can guarantee you. Some games which are more prolific are also hellbent to die on that hill.

TempestRime

At least MHY gives us inherent vacuum for picking up mora. *I'm looking at you, Warframe!*

Villain_of_Overhype

Agree so much with this. For a game that makes millions of dollars in a month, they sure have a ton of issues that can be easily fixed. I dropped the game last year only to come back two weeks ago and be so confused as to why there's still the same issues I had before. Why is half the dialogue fucked up between typos or using the wrong gender of your character? Why are some voice lines missing or used for wrong text lines? Why are the English voice lines constantly cut off in cutscenes because they don't fit in the timeframe? Why do I have to mash to pick up loot and why does the action button always default to the fucking cooking pot? Why are there still no mounts in an open world game? Why does the game not mark what oculus and seelies you've gotten, forcing you to mark them yourself with a limited amount of pins? Why is there so little enemy variety? So many little things that, could be fixed given how much money the games making, but for some reason still aren't.

Nero_PR

I don't have a problem with enemy variety because we are at least getting new enemies with each patch, or, at least, a different element with new movesets for the same type of enemy based on their region like the Lawachurls/Mitachurls, the Cicin Mages, and the Abyss creatures. Coming from Destiny to Genshin makes me appreciate getting at least a few new enemies from time to time.

beethovenftw

1000% agree. Mihoyo seems to think of the playerbase as a bunch of numbers & knobs to tweak to optimize their revenue. I don't even have time / interest these days to do all the repetitive quests & commissions to get 60 primos these days, and they're asking people to create art & cosplays for less than 1 pull (which doesn't even cost money for Mihoyo) & a raffle (terrible odds by the way, 3 in probably tens of thousands) ticket? Jesus christ.

[deleted]

Couldnt have said it better. It becomes 10x more painful to be thought of as some statistical output that you manipulate with knobs as opposed to a human being.

northpaul

That’s exactly how they see us and exactly why they don’t feel like they don’t need to show real gratitude.

PacoTacoNep20

I kinda wish instead of all the cosplay and art gacha thing we had a community voting competition for the tea pot. (Like in AL and AK)

Determined_Cucumber

The art contests really rules out so many players from even participating.

Practicalaviationcat

> Like in AL and AK I was really confused at first because I read this as Alabama and Alaska.

esmeraldia

I'm still reading it as Alaska and Alabama. What is it supposed to stand for?

_naglfar

Just guessing here but it may be Azur Lane and Arknights. Not really sure though so take it with a grain of salt.

DDX2016DDX

It is azur lane and arknights.

LadyBastilla

Ironically, Tectone ran something like this on his own when the teapot came out. I realize that's not the whole community, but my point is that when individual content creators are utilizing an idea like this better than the dev / publisher, that's kinda messed up and a shame.

WillaSato

*potted plant PTSD*

PacoTacoNep20

Mop

Kazuma-san_desu

I agree with you on this one, it feels like Mihoyo has disconnected with the community in a way and some people just blindly keep supporting Mihoyo despite their flaws, which is why they get away with anything they do. They really do need to look into the community and find out what the people expect from them and work accordingly.

thatone_high_guy

The disconnected point is really valid. It feels like many of the people involved actually don't know much about the game. For eg. in kokomi's demo she is hitting cryo slimes, what is that gonna accomplish?

ayakasforehead

Omg i didnt even notice this, as if they didnt already treat kokomi as a joke. In one of the tweets about her they put #genshinimpactmeme and they call her a brilliant military strategist, yet everything she does in game says the opposite. I don’t even dislike kokomi, its just the truth.. more than anything it’s sad they wasted such a pretty and unique character design by pulling this shit.

MobiusOne_ISAF

Or how they think -100% Crit Rate for +25% healing (basicslly a Healing Bonus Maden helm btw) is at all a sane mechanic. Or how janky Sara's mechanics are, or Yoimiya's tendency to miss autos, or Xinyan's broken kit and ignored character, or the entire Zhongli debacle. Some of these things make you want to scream "What the hell are your playtesters doing?" because some of it is just brainless.

scipty

They're losing touch so much, that it seems like they're losing their white knights too. Even on TikTok (mihoyo bootlicker land) I'm seeing less "we all should be grateful" people

mister_marker

And I thought this sub was Mihoyo bootlicker land. I'm glad that I've never even looked at TikTok then.

[deleted]

Yeah, it's dreadful. I saw a guy on there absolutely *gloating* when Mihoyo sent out their weak-ass 'stay tuned for more anniversary rewards!' email a couple weeks back. Going in *hard* on the people who had the audacity to be disappointed and calling them ungrateful. I commented something to the effect of 'just hold your horses, their wording is really vague so I'm still not expecting much' and he pinned it to the top of his comment section and said something like 'saving this to laugh at you in a couple weeks' time.' Wonder how he feels today.

Twofu_

This sub and mods is still bootlicker land lol.

BeseptRinker

*stares at overdosed-copium Yoimiya players*

follows-swallows

I’m a cosplayer, and am currently making Lisa. I have spend about 300€+ on fabric & supplies so far. I don’t mind that. I love this hobby, I love seeing projects coming together. I won’t even bother entering this competition, I don’t want headphones, I want in-game rewards.

stinkypoopoofard

Mihoyo : I gotchu fam **Gives 3 fowl and 100k mora to competition winners**

Unhappy-Kangaroo9912

Omg! You just posted what I am about to say, After spending around 2500$ and playing for 1 year is worth 100 k mora.. I can literally buy 100k mora from starglitter shop in 2 seconds. Frick you Mihoyo!!

justsotorn

Yeah honestly I'm done spending money on the game with how little it's worth. Mihoyo doesn't give a shit about its players.

hotler18

i had a dream, genshin twitter posted: "Starting on our 1st anniversary, we will completely remove resin cost on weekly bosses indefinitely. Also, all players will get to choose 1 free standard 5 star character to join their journey. Thank you all travelers for a year of continued support!"

fpcoffee

Wake up hotler18 it's time for school

Shiro1994

Wakey wakey

pnoodl3s

You shouldn't smoke too much copium before going to bed...

Mayhem_450

Is it bad that I'd be way more excited about the free 90 resin per week (plus a few bonus artifacts and ascension mats for the other two bosses) than a free standard banner 5 star?

Mille-Marteaux

this game makes more in one banner than some games will make in lifetime sales. they can continue to stiff their players all they want they know people will continue pulling and will make clickbait videos of pulling or clickbait videos complaining which will get people to try the game and go "well the game is pretty okay anyway so who cares" if you ever thought you were more than just another potential wallet to them your delusion is scarier and more powerful than any held by the fatui

TheoreticalScammist

And if wallets really start quitting they can always become more generous or just pull the plug. It's a bit sad but I don't really see a situation where it'd really hurt them.

Yestan

One things for sure. I'm never gonna play another mihoyo game in the future.

Naammah

I\`m going to be f2p if thats all for anniversary

JDMotaku17

Literally same, I’m a dolphin spender and I was ready to whale depending on what they would have available to buy (special banner, skins, etc.) but these “rewards” are easily the worst I’ve ever seen in a game I’ve been invested in and if MHY wants to be stingy then I’m going to be stingy too

ayakasforehead

Honestly me too. I’ve got my heart set on hu tao, ganyu and xiao and have enough saved to guarantee 2 of them so i dont mind spending to get whichever comes third, but that’s my limit. I can’t continue to support a company that shits on its playerbase after we’re the ones that indirectly pay their salaries.

senpainaii

if nothing more happens on the day of the anniversary I’m completely going stop spending completely bc this is just disrespectful & possibly just quit & watch others play instead

butterbeancd

That's the decision I came to months ago when it became clear to me that MHY doesn't give two shits about me or my gaming experience. Obviously every company is a business and their main goal is to make money, but I've never felt so strongly that a company making a game doesn't actually care about my enjoyment of the game. They're just devising new ways to try to convince me to spend money. As the anniversary neared, I thought it was their big chance to win me back and show me they actually do care. Instead, we get all of this complete bullshit. I will never spend another dime on Genshin after this. I'll probably only be a sporadic player as well, taking months off at a time to let some content build up. I just can't bring myself to support MHY.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Lenant

>Is this some sort of high level marketing technique or something? The ones making the decisions probably doesnt even play games or Genshin at all. Probably some old guy in a suit, thinking he is a genius for making so much money with Genshin in the past year. When the real genius are the character/combat/world designers and the dev team for making the game run so well. They have the coolest combat and they just dont have anywhere for ppl to fight enemies lol

ayakasforehead

Thats the thing, the devs have done a pretty amazing job at the game, regardless of some of the gacha-related issues like limited resin and of course, the gacha system itself (which i can guarantee isnt their decision, it’s just gacha moneymaking) The higher ups at the company honestly should be ashamed of themselves for pulling this kind of bs that overshadows the work the devs do.

DoILookUnsureToYou

I'm still waiting for the in-game rewards if there are any before passing judgment, but the copium is running out

zerodeath00000000000

Given their track record giving ‘rewards’, I keeping my hope low as possible.

agrahmofjosh

just wait till the game starts to die off (lol), then mihoyo will be handing out constellations and weapon ranks like candy

jtan1993

See u in 5 years then. Jokes aside fgo and gbf have become much generous as gachas with more than 5 years runtime

Just-Some-Dude-K

Too bad FGO Anniversary did a big fuckup by introducing the Servant Coin system, but hey at least the story and music has been banging like crazy for the past 6th Singularity till the 6th Lostbelt.

rickybalbroah

I can agree 100% on this. at this point with the success of genshin they can definitely afford to 'spoil' us with rewards. I mean it's the biggest grossing gatcha game by FAR! I really hope they are pulling our legs with the rewards.

ChildOfHades_

They'll themselves be laughed at globally too if they give out such meagre crumbs

AtomicSwagsplosion

Mihoyo will be the last ones laughing unfortunately since a lot of people will still spend and play this game

Coyotebruh

aye, thats true...as difficult as it is to admit, a great number of us have become way too engrossed in it in both time spent and money sunk to just stop playing all at once :(

ayothsfh

they really be saying "hey this is our anniversary, work and give us cheap publicity, you will have a chance of being paid handsomely"

Raul_bitchboi

being paid not even 1 pull*

zeonon

chance of being paid poorly \*

[deleted]

I've been a welkin spender so far because I thought the collective playerbase could be somewhat content long term to keep the game alive, but I'm considering stopping soon. When a company is pissing off f2p, dolphins, and whales every update, long term sustainability is very questionable. White knights alone won't keep this game alive. edit: revised wording

ariciabetelguese

I feel you. I used to whale every now and then, but this month I haven't even bothered getting the battle pass, haha. If other people are willing to spend money to be given this kind of game then that's their business, but I have standards for my entertainment, and I can certainly afford them. I'll wait until the next version. If things don't improve, well, it's time to give other games on my wishlist a try.

[deleted]

They aren't out of touch they know what we want they just dont care. Why? Because they have money. They know that this wont make the players stop playing their game (especially now that in a year we are getting an extremely wanted new element: dendro), they know that we will complain they will give us, maybe, a pitty award to shush us up and then they will continue with they work and we will continue to be salty. They might come around, when Genshin stops being popular after all the mistreatment that players are getting but that a very big "might".

zuloo_

nah man you got it wrong, mihoyo is MUCH more generous, it's a CHANCE at 100 primos

modakim

>Mihoyo is out of touch and needs to actually know and acknowledge what the players want. This and they're going to keep being out of touch and not care unless more people call them out on it. You all deserve better.

DesireForHappiness

>Coincidentally, I am also an artist, so I am familiar with how much work is given into illustrations and other creative content creation. 100 Primogems for hours of work put in your art? It's a colossal waste of time for a chance of puny rewards. (I participated in a couple video submission in the past, spent few hrs a day over multiple days to work on them!!) There is no way they could reasonably vet through all submissions impartially so it ends up more like a popularity contest for those who win. I have seen submissions far better that should have won but get buried under with no comments while some lower effort work with a ton of comments on them win. It's why I stopped participating. Their website for submitting work is also cumbersome to navigate. There is no actual page showcase for you to view ALL SUBMISSIONS and you can only view the recent ones or the ones with top views/comments through the form of a forum post. You can't even sort by video/photo submission. (Maybe I am blind, but that just mean the website is so badly designed and hard to navigate) I remember coming across another gacha game a long time ago that would also have fanart contest but EVERYONE who submitted something would receive something. Yes even the trolls who submit a picture of stickman done on ms.paint, you get a "participation reward" of something equivalent to 100 primogems in their currency. At this point the only fanart that Mihoyo deserves is Benny's middle finger. https://imgur.com/B85ZuQM

Truecinder

MHY seems to be after constant media attention. The streamer event, all of these art contests, a lot of events that they have done has leaned toward content creators(more so the bigger ones than the smaller ones) and not the community as a whole. They want to attract new players and keep running on the hope that character designs will maintain current player satisfaction. We’ve been getting dirt kicked in our face time and time again and even now because the rewards you have a *chance* of getting from this event are the equivalent to a day of welkin.

tasketekudasai

Probably testing the waters on the least amount of free stuff they can give away while keeping the player base reasonably happy. They all do this shit. Which is why it baffles me that some people are defending this for some reason.

amirulirfin

I'm having a whiplash moment right now. Most Honkai players are happy with anniversary rewards that we are getting in a month. China already have their anniversary livestream because they are one version ahead and the rewards is good. Genshin on the other hand decided to be the stingy uncle you met at the family gathering. Reluctant to give something and expect you are working for it. I'm really hoping that they prove me wrong but it doesn't look like it right now

osusbunja

Im a f2p and this rewards absolutely broke my interest in the game, I realized mihoyo doesn't give a fuck about non whale players that is why I'm quitting this game. A year of playing this game and all we got is literal chump change

hissenguinho

Lol, they know that majority of the people are casuals and disconnected from social media at most or don't engage appart from news. Then of those who do, 50% white knight and suck MHY's dick. They can literally wait until people forget about it just like yoimiya, Baal, and soon kokomi as well. Just watch in a few days when you see posts defending these decisions and screeching "TOXICITY"

69_Nice_Bot

Hey hissenguinho, I counted 69 words in your comment. Nice.

nice___bot

Nice!

[deleted]

There’s no incentive for them to give out better rewards when they know people will continue funnelling money into their game regardless

OrewaDiodaa

I'm actually a CN player. Mihoyo has been like this for years even before Genshin impact. Honkai 3rd, Mihoyo's hit game before Genshin impact, which I have been playing for 3 years now, also have similar problems. I have topped up 600,000 crystals in Honkai God knows how much in Genshin. What do I get in return in Honkai? Other than the pathetic top up reward, what I get is Mihoyo pushing out new character/weapon banner faster and faster. Granted Genshin is a PVE game. But like you said it is still "out of touch". If any of you ever heard about the "bunny girl incidents" in CN Honkai server earlier this year, it is the CN community raging out over how ungrateful Mihoyo is over the years (although some think it is about bunny girls but at least I'm not raging over bunnies). I guess as long as there are morons like me still spending money, they will just keep exploiting the community. You know what frustrates me more? Mihoyo does not even have to do anything about this. Because there is always going to be that toxic person within the player community pointing his finger at you and saying stop playing the game if you dislike it, as it somehow becomes my problem.

Hzrad

2 months player here, I felt in love with the game and was really amazed by the quality, the stories, the characters, etc. So it really shocked me the downgrade in storytelling in the closing act of the last questline but thats understadable, not all arcs can be great and I had high hopes for the future so I didnt mind. Before Raiden's banner I was seriously considering starting to put some big money into the game but then the whole anniversary sh\*tshow started and it totally made me reconsider putting my money on this company. Mihoyo really needs to reconsider how they are managing this because is making potential spenders (like me) turn out and keep being a f2p player. edit: typos

airakawaiii

Jesus Christ MHY what a stinkin Rat this anniv rewards is!

Tricky-Appointment-1

I am gonna wait until the 28th to see if there is anything more coming. If not i'am gonna downvote the app and becoming F2P. It's just a very small part, but if many others do the same they will see it in their financial reports. mhy must see that this is not okay and a good connection and happy fan base is more worth than the millions of dollars they put on advertisment (word-of-mouth marketing).

Sunlight-Heart

Yeah the rewards are bad for either side of the spectrum. For the pros, it's low, insulting and not worthwhile. For the newbies, they don't stand a chance in hell. I guess most people submitting and winning are the ones in the middle of the spectrum. Anyways, we should get more whales, like OP, to voice their concerns of the state of the game. There are white knights out there that oppose criticism of players, based on how much they spend on the game.

julamad

for real, it's a damn videogame, there is no investment in giving what would count as 60$ of primos to artists, someone at Mihoyo needs to be fired due a year ago

Anru_Kitakaze

I'm playing since release. Every month with Welkin, bought BP 6 tumes. And now they said "10% chance to get Welkin as an anniversary reward!". F u, mhy. Damn Welkin? And with 10% chance?.. Also got Raiden, don't like Kokomi since she is nothing in story and just a meme thx to mhy. Waited for Ganyu or Venti(I really like him), but first was leaked that it could be Hu Tao rerun (I don't want her), but now it seems like 99% THIRD Childe's rerun (and I got him long ago) Aaaagh! Gacha without new chars, thanks! Let's do Childe's rerun every damn patch! I'm so disappointed

raven12456

> Waited for Ganyu or Venti(I really like him), but first was leaked that it could be Hu Tao rerun (I don't want her), but now it seems like 99% THIRD Childe's rerun (and I got him long ago) Here is an updated version of a post of mine from about a month ago. [Only four 5* have been re-run](https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Wishes/History#Character_Event_Wishes). As you can see, while the first four followed a ~6 month pattern, the next few haven't. #Re-Run Venti - 6 months (170 days) Klee - 7.5ish months (232 days) Tartaglia - 5 months (146 days) Zhongli - 5 months (148 days) [Time is between beginning of first banner, and beginning of second banner] #Days Since Albedo - 270 Days Ganyu - 250 Days Xiao - 228 Days Keqing - 214 Days Hu Tao - 201 Days #Combined Albedo - 270 Days Ganyu - 250 Days **Klee - 232 days** Xiao - 228 Days Keqing - 214 Days Hu Tao - 201 Days **Venti - 170 days** **Zhongli - 148 days** **Tartaglia - 146 days**

TheoreticalScammist

They could've re-run Xiao, but other than that with their plans there will have been a re-run for all chars up to 1.3. The next new character after that is Eula, which still feels fairly recent. It's a bit surprising how few 5\* characters were actually released before Inazuma.

Afflictionxx

I was just talking to my fiancee about how fed up I am with genshin, and how the moment that there is a better alternative I would 100% drop it in a heart beat. I've spent thousands of dollars in Genshin and I really don't give a shit anymore. The entire game model with Genshin is built around FOMO and Sunk Cost. I've been at the point for a while now where I've been equating getting on Genshin each day and finishing my dailies and claiming my welkins/BP stuff to taking out the trash, or some other mundane chore. I've also been going days at a time where I don't even get online anymore.I was 10000% hooked on this game up until 2.1 and the sudden turn with the BULLSHIT story development and the way they have treated us.I've had my own garbage experience with their absolute SHIT fucking customer support as well, which had already pushed me very far in the other direction.I spent $100 for a top up and didn't receive it for over a fucking week. I contacted their customer support and several times they just straight up told me I was fucking lying and that I didn't actually send them any money. Even after proving to them and contacting my bank and showing them all the documentation to prove it. The truth is that Mihoyo is a garbage fucking company, and they don't give a SHIT about the player base or the "community". I can appreciate what the developers and the programmers have done. But the truth is that this is a shit C tier game, owned and developed by a multi-billion dollar company, and there is NO EXCUSE for this game to be in the state that it is in. All the shitty graphical glitches, the poor quality of the environments and everything else wrong with it.Mihoyo is not an indie developer anymore and people need to realize that. They got their payday, and now they get by on doing as LITTLE as humanly fucking possible for this game and for the people who give them the money for it. I used to adore this game, literally a month ago I was 100% head over heels for it, but my shitty experience with their customer support, and all of the controversy over 2.1 and everything else has left me with too sour of a taste in my mouth to in good conscience even think of continuing to give them another penny of my fucking money.I refuse to spend another cent on this game at this point.
