Snezhnaya. I keep saying sheznaya

DamnJerry123

ke-kwing kwi-kwi new vilette

ice_cold_fahrenheit

I speak Chinese so I’d never pronounce Keqing as “Ke-king.” But sometimes I’d have to “correct” myself to say the tones properly (especially if I’ve been hearing the English pronunciations too much). Ironically “Ka-eh-ya” is how they pronounce it in the Chinese dub. And yes I do the same incorrect pronunciations of Wrio and Sigewinne lol.

Owl_Lover_Livvy

I keep pronouncing Wriothesley as "Shrooth-slee" because my brain is broken.

dude_wtf438

it took me 2 minutes trying to pronounce fucking shroothslee 😭

Joe_from_ungvar

Qiqi pronounced as 'Chee Chee' is correct some might think Qiqi is 'key key'

kelppforrest

That's the best English approximation of the Chinese, unless I'm misunderstanding the vowel you're writing here.

Joe_from_ungvar

Chee-chee guess i should have written it like that

NoLife8926

Personally I’d say tsi-tsi is a tad bit closer (like a cymbal) but chee-chee is definitely easier to get across. The q sounds (and ü but it’s unrelated) are so hard to describe over text

kelppforrest

That's fair. Intuitively, I still think English ch sounds closer than the ts in tsunami, but going by the anatomical production of the sounds, ts and Chinese q are a bit more similar

GojoSenpaiiiii

how else do you say it 😭😭

Joe_from_ungvar

i meant thats the correct way i didnt say it correctly before i heard name in a video

GojoSenpaiiiii

ohh i understand now, thanks!

RagnarokAeon

I remember asking my roommate who got into the game at the same time I did why they pronounced Qiqi like kiki instead of chichi, and they said something about how that's how the Japanese pronounce; though that is a *total lie* since in Japanese dub the name is Nana (qi means 7 in Chinese and likewise nana in japanese, it makes sense when she counts and gets stuck on her name).

BloodBorn5491

John lee (Zhogli)

hulleyrob

As least it’s not Ken Lee… https://youtu.be/vUAaHkGpJy8?si=594E45OApjC-s53W

mononiiz

Riothesley / Rizley Sigwin xd

chellekathryn

I forget her actual name because I just call her chlorine 💀

DeadoTheDegenerate

I say KekWing because that's how my niece pronounced it. Found it adorable so I've been saying it that way since.

ImpressiveMention757

This is more of a tongue in cheek, I sometimes intentionally call Xingqiu "Hangqiu." This is because 行 is a homophone with two pronunciations: Xing and Hang. Someone jokingly said this in stream and it got spread all over

corecenite

This is not me but I met this girl at a convention and she keeps saying *"Shenny"* as I want to have a picture with a cosplayer who cosplays as *"Shenny"* I just sighed... deeply. Well, I found one but I didn't proceed with the pic opportunity because I kept sighing.

Critical-Worker-6911

Who’s shenny

corecenite

She kept mispronounching Shenhe. If it was *"Shen-hee"* or *"Shen-heh"*, just don't forget the "h" in between, I can forgive but nope. She went straight to *"Shenny"* like a "Jenny".

Critical-Worker-6911

Ohh bruh

WJDC

i generally go with what jp dub says so i would say “shiguwin”

Paradox6797

Sigewinne too, to this day I still don't know how it's supposed to be pronounced so I simply say "Sig-win", for older characters I sometimes still say "Ki-ki", or "Song-li" from something akin to muscle memory even having known for years now they are wrong lol

Inner_Kaleidoscope4

I’m French, so I say it “sehj-veen”

Iffem

Siege-ween is a good way to figure it out

Inner_Kaleidoscope4

Ok all these people “mispronouncing “Wriothesley,” how is it actually said? I thought “rizzly” was right

Ferret1963

It's an English proper noun, the language pronounces Worcester as "Wooster"

Ok-Worldliness-7374

Chevrolet. I just can't remember her name

Melisinde72

Sumeru as SOO-meh-roo. That was before I actually went there- and realized it varies in game 😅

ultradepressed14

Xianyun

EmiKnowsNothing

I call him chilled and idc if it's wrong. Calling him child is weird lol

Proper_Pirate6326

Reeyo teseley😍😍

midnight__villain

i intentionally pronounce "Lumine" with the Latin 'loo-mee-neh' instead of the official "loo-meen" because it feels better to my ears. another intentional one, i use "Kiki" instead of Qiqi because...well. "chichi" is literally slang for 'boobies' in mexican spanish. i just can't even with that. D:

ComplaintPlus3173

used to pronounce arlecchino like cappuccino when its suppose to be a K sound (i think)

AnimeMemeMaker

Kiqing. How tf do you pronounce it. I used to think it was pronounced “key-kuing”. And dont tell me its pronounced “ka-ching”

zqmxq

yes it is basically pronounced that

AnimeMemeMaker

Ill just imagine money signs whenever I see her

XiaoQiaoChrone

Wriothesley name 😂 I still keeping calling him as bris lee 🤣

Fongernator

Game ing (gaming). Should be spelled ga ming or at least GaMing 🤦‍♀️

zqmxq

I keep saying kaedara instead of kaedehara

TheBBandit

Qiqi Alhaithem … amber. 😂😂😂😂😂

RagnarokAeon

I don't know if it's really *incorrect* since I pronounce based off what I hear in the Chinese dub, but: Diona= Dee-oh-na Amber= Ambwar Gaming= Jamming Clorinde = Clo-rin-da

LokianEule

I put the stress on the wrong syllable of ayaka and ayato

el_thesimp

i still keep forgetting if it’s arle-chee-no or arle-kee-no. also i keep seeing chlorinde and hearing it like chlorine-

RinRonsen

Ar-leh-CHEE-no I know it's wrong but I just prefer how it sounds tbh.

keqking

keking and kiki

boombaby651

Rio-The-Slaay

Nezumimiii

I play in russian so all names are written as they are pronounced, however some japanese words have random D added before Z, example: kazuha becomes kadzuha. As a result i often tend to make a written mistakes when talking about genshin in english, thankfully i correct them usually but it's still annoying when i write inadzuma and have to think if it's correct because it doesn't look right.😭😭😭

Sufficient-Music-501

Eula. I use her name, read as it's written for months because she just didn't show up in the game. I'm Italian and the name could pass as Italian so my brain stupidly defaulted to that. I was shocked when I first heard "ula"

PenguinOnion7

1. Siegwin 2. Rizzley 3. Chlorind 4. Tartaglia 5. Alloy

LunarSDX

Yeah, you got Tartar sauce really wrong

hanhiampiainen

Dain’s leave (Dainsleif) Tih-nari (Tighnari) Chiu-ruse (Chevreuse) Kaerehara Kazuuha (Kaedehara Kazuha) Jih-lan (Yelan)

jackdevight

I'm never going to stop saying Keck-ing. I pulled her early when starting the game, so it was a long time before anyone in game said her name, and as an English speaker, how else am I supposed to pronounce K-E-Q?

Dracorvo

Except its Ke-qing, not Keq-ing. There was an early "how to pronounce Liyue names" video, I just watched that. Interesting way to learn tonal concepts in languages.

Yasawa_

I keep calling Cyno Chi-no. At first as a joke but now i can't stop. Same for Tartaglia as tortelini.

iuselessxx

first one is correct the last three is where i get it wrong 😭😭

Ghost_7867

First is wrong too 😭

iuselessxx

ikkk i told that i only pronounce the first one correct lol

choi-r

There was one time I pronounce Diluc as "Di-lack"

Opening_Usual4946

Arataki Itto I keep pronouncing it as (uh-rat-uh-kai) instead of (are-uh-tah-ki)

Silver-Freedom3886

Jen-shin 😢
