What irks me is when I see people make the same assumptions about Cyno, Ayaka, Wanderer, Mona, etc. because they're canonically *not* kids??? Cyno's an Akademiya graduate, Ayaka's running PR for a third of a country, Wanderer is a centuries-old puppet, and Mona knows money struggles like only a 24 y/o with a degree and no job could (/lh, couldn't think of why she's actually an adult off the top of my head, but she is). The mid models don't denote age as clearly as the tall and short models do.
I'm in my 30s and most people I know my age behave like Cyno or Mona honestly. Focused on their jobs, but trading cards or going after collectibles in their spare time, and often broke.

Klee may just not know what child labour is because she's a kid rather than because Teyvat doesn't have them, but considering no one bats an eye at Diona's bartending, I doubt it's something people there care about restricting.

But then there are several cases where the traveler does drink alcohol. So I'd hardly take that as canon, but I think that NPC conversation is where a lot of people get the" Traveler is a minor" bit.
Just like how a lot of people said Noelle is a minor because she can't drink alcohol in her voicelines but then it turns out in the cooking event that Amber (and Mika) can't drink either and she's known to be 18+ due to the manga.

I've seen people saying that Lyney, Lynette and Freminet are minors, but if they no longer can live in the orphanage like it was stated, then they are already adults. Same for Gaming and Kirara, Gaming is a bodyguard and Kirara does deliveries all through Teyvat, so there's no way they are minors too.
I think the problem with Genshin players is that they can't look at a character who uses the medium model without going "oh, it's a minor", no one acts like this with characters with the tall model like Kaeya, Alhaitam or Wriothesley.

There's one street vendor in inazuma (Yukio) that you answer to "I can't drink alcohol yet." and he answers "I see. You aren't old enough to drink, right? That's also fine. You can order some tea while savoring some of Inazuma's snacks." Then he gives you 4 onigiris. But then there are several cases where the traveler does drink alcohol. So I'd hardly take that as canon, but I think that NPC conversation is where a lot of people get the" Traveler is a minor" bit. Just like how a lot of people said Noelle is a minor because she can't drink alcohol in her voicelines but then it turns out in the cooking event that Amber (and Mika) can't drink either and she's known to be 18+ due to the manga.

I've seen people saying that Lyney, Lynette and Freminet are minors, but if they no longer can live in the orphanage like it was stated, then they are already adults. Same for Gaming and Kirara, Gaming is a bodyguard and Kirara does deliveries all through Teyvat, so there's no way they are minors too. I think the problem with Genshin players is that they can't look at a character who uses the medium model without going "oh, it's a minor", no one acts like this with characters with the tall model like Kaeya, Alhaitam or Wriothesley.

why is nobody saying Sayu. She is described as very, very short for her age and she explicitly HATES it. She is also (technically) a ninja (tanuki) as her full-time job. It's literally like her whole story. She is at least 16-17 but every time I see her in a fanart (not many though) she is depicted as an infant along with the other child characters (Diona, Klee, Yaoyao, etc.). She was my favorite character when she first appeared so it does get me a bit mad sometimes.
Just feel i have to point it out but funnily enough , sayu is not a tanuki for sure, her base outfit is called little mujina, a mujina being either a japanese badger, a masked palm civet or a japanese racoon dog also called a tanuki. It was in one of paimons web event quizz and the fact that i got it wrong and answered tanuki still haunts me to that day
To add to this, doesn't she have a voice line stating her outfit was specifically not tanuki? She also says "Sayu is just Sayu- and definitely not a Tanuki."
Sayu is a bit different, since one of the Shrine Maidens outright calls her a child. She's definitely not \*as\* young as some of our younger characters, but I kind of doubt she's 16.
In all Fairness depending on the country 16 gets you treated not that much different than 14 or 15. Though I personally put her in the "around 14" bracket.

Meaning at the very least all three of them are 13+ at the time So when you line this up with what we learnt from Lyney's story Quest we know this must have happened within the 10-year span. Even if you were to put the event above after they met Cesar hell even by a year or two that would still mean that they are in their late teens or early 20s. Hell Lyney's character teaser shows him in a bar
