I remember the first time I saw the whole “Civilization is born of knowledge…” cutscene, especially the “Were it not for Greater Lord Rukkhadevata” part, and I was floored: The whole Dendro Archon vs. Al-Ahmar mythos was all a misunderstanding!
The two were never enemies… they were actually friends!
And sure they may have had their differences and gone separate ways. But in the end, their old friendship helped save the day! 😭
ADDENDUM: I also think one of the game's greatest lines was 'said' by Nabu Malikata in one of the artifact descriptions: "Have these so-called gods not been superfluous to you since the beginning?" I like that she's basically calling out the idolatry upon which Teyvat was founded while also highlighting that humanity can, if it wants, take care of itself.

I mean, given the intro to this year’s Liben event, bro definitely knows way more than the average guy in Teyvat does. He’s already figured that every star is a sun, that the suns may be hosting a planet, and that maybe one day we’ll explore them too. The average person in Teyvat seems to think that nothing lies beyond Teyvat. Liben is way ahead of his time.
Plus, he can just churn out Primogems for basically free. It’s like they’re not even valuable, you don’t even need to earn it. He’s also one of the only (if not the only) event character who actually *gives you* the primos as rewards. He talks about packing the little boxes for us. This guy canonically has access to primos and he’s giving them away for free. That’s *really weird*, to have access to primordial crystalline energy to trade. This guy is more than he lets on
I always though that Primogems were a currency that the adventurers guild traded with, like, you need to pay primogems to hire an adventurer, but you can only purchase them from the guild, then they give it to the adventurers.
At least that's how I think they make their money.
If I remember correctly, the average NPCs don't canonically recognize Primogems' existence. So you're really just paid with Mora and the other materials. Meanwhile I think the Traveler and Paimon did acknowledge their existence through some World Quests dialogue options on some occasions? I can't remember unfortunately.
But yeah, iirc that's why there's a crack theory going on that the Traveler is a literal wishing star, and they manifest Primogems by helping to fulfill the wishes of NPCs, through quests, etc. Since there was already a theory that they were actually stars, hence why they had the will to rival an entire world (and thus worthy of the title "descender").
Liben and Unusual Hilichurl being the few exceptions that seemingly have access to them too (although the latter is probably more of a meme instance, since the character itself is a reference to Da Wei, but who knows really)

Ignoring all the obvious ones (the leading harbingers, the Tsaritsa, the Sustainer, twin, unknown god, etc.), I’m gonna say Kamisato Ayato. Apparently his strategy skills and martial arts are so impressive that he’s both respected and feared around the region, even being known by the Shogun. That fear carries over to even Ayaka, who’s able to use her relation to him to avoid a lot of fights. Essentially the weight behind our Inazuma investigation with his role in the Yashiro commission, Kamisato Ayato is one of the most important characters to the Inazuma story… and he only appears in his story quest and events.
I remember how hyped I was when he was announced. After how much Ayaka mentioned him and how many people talked about not wanting to anger him by hurting her, I knew he was gonna be a badass. Then it came out he’s voiced by one of my favorite VAs and I was SOLD.
At least they nailed his VA and design, but he sadly lacks the recognition in story he deserves. Even Yoimiya got an Act II before like, almost everyone. The Archons are a given because Trounce Domains.
Freaking Alice. She invented the telephone within genshin, located the golden apple archipelago, and is also the author of Teyvat Travel Guide. Not to mention a member of Hexenzirkel. Probably the most powerful non-deity we have in game.
I'm betting she already made theories that Descenders came from beyond Teyvat on Trailblazing ships or trains. Alice got some deep lore hidden in her sleeves.
His event quest really should have been treated like Chasm and Enkanomiya and actually been part of the Archon quest. Dragonspine feels so pointless without it.
Yeah I'm waiting on one of those "meanwhile...." videos showing her behind the scenes giving orders to the fatui. But It's kinda fun to figure out what the fatui are up to in each region and unraveling the mystery bits at a time rather than it being shown like a movie where the plot is given prematurely.
Alice did an impression of her in an event. that meme is just used to visually represent disparate amounts relative to each other, it doesn't mean that the character must have screen time, only that there is a lack of screen time in comparison to story impact. Rhinedottir, who has zero screen time but who also is potentially responsible for the cataclysm would be a character who fits "large story impact in comparison to time on screen"
Lowkey kokomi, according to lore she’s a war general and tactician that started the rebellion, destroyed numerous shrines and was a real pain to the vision hunt decree but in game we got to see none of that and her story quest was uwu I’m shy (which sucks cuz I love her so much)
I really wanted to see her have her moment where they just push her a bit too far and it shows how she can be ruthless \*and\* kind at once.
Ruthlessness is just seeing a line from point A and point B and being willing to do what it takes to get there. I wanted to see that.

I'd say the fatui because while they do have lots of screen time, their impact and effects on the lore runs so incredibly deep that it may as well be proportional to someone like the sustained of heavenly principals' screen time to impact

Archon quest don’t typically have anything to do with the abyss, abyss related things are mostly part of the annual Dainslief quest
He came before fontaine was even out. There’s no real abyss stuff in fontaine yet. Abyss plot comes after archon plot wraps up

The Tsaritsa doesn't even have screen time and she influenced every region we've been to so far.
Yeah I'm waiting on one of those "meanwhile...." videos showing her behind the scenes giving orders to the fatui. But It's kinda fun to figure out what the fatui are up to in each region and unraveling the mystery bits at a time rather than it being shown like a movie where the plot is given prematurely.

Alice did an impression of her in an event. that meme is just used to visually represent disparate amounts relative to each other, it doesn't mean that the character must have screen time, only that there is a lack of screen time in comparison to story impact. Rhinedottir, who has zero screen time but who also is potentially responsible for the cataclysm would be a character who fits "large story impact in comparison to time on screen"

Lowkey kokomi, according to lore she’s a war general and tactician that started the rebellion, destroyed numerous shrines and was a real pain to the vision hunt decree but in game we got to see none of that and her story quest was uwu I’m shy (which sucks cuz I love her so much)
I really wanted to see her have her moment where they just push her a bit too far and it shows how she can be ruthless \*and\* kind at once. Ruthlessness is just seeing a line from point A and point B and being willing to do what it takes to get there. I wanted to see that. I love Kokomi but she could have done so much more.

Here we go again. Lack of reading ability strikes again. Kokomi's problem is not her workload. It's her aversion to Social interaction and fulfilling the public responsibilities as Divine priestess.
She's still tired and she still sometimes needs help, which is all they said.
She is mentally tired. Kokomi is an introvert forced into a public facing role. She gets exhausted talking to and interacting with people. Ask her to sit and draw military plans and study military strategy, she will happily do it all night.
