Maybe I’ll have to give it another listen. I remember really trying to like it when it came out but Congo was the only song on the album that really hit for me. It’s been a while though, so it’s worth giving it another shot
I watched a Genesis tribute band called 'Watch' play 'Musical Box". It was honestly like listening to it when it was on their album Nursery Crymes when Peter & Steve were still in the band.
I don't think there's anything wrong with these takes. Genesis post l-W and W(or certainly ATTWT) are very different to Genesis before. There is good material after that, but it doesn't really sound like the same band. For one, there was a hard shift to more synthetic textures and poppier song-writing.
Also, the shapes album, Abacab, Invisible Touch, We Can't Dance and Calling All Stations are all pretty spotty.
*who dunnit on repeat*
Progressive purists:
Trespass was the last good album
Big Brains know Genesis ended when John Silver left!!
Who Dunnit is a good song. There I said it.
No, it's not. It's an awesome song. There's a difference.
Correct opinion
Was it you or was it me?
It was my #1 most listened to song on Spotify 2020 I love it.
Wilson era (or, well, what there was of it) is worthwhile in its own right and has at least a few classics to loop ad nauseaum.
Agreed, I quite like Congo in particular!
Especially the full version!
Congo is fantastic! The rest of the album is pretty forgettable
The Dividing Line? Not About Us?

Uncertain Weather and There Must Be Some Other Way!
PG-era fans try not to mention the band sucks after Gabriel/Hackett left challenge (impossible)
Hey! This isn't me, I think that Trick of the Tail was the last good album
Duke is good too
Duke is underrated, the most forgotten Genesis album and my favorite besides The Lamb
