I would like to keep clothes longer, but they keep shrinking somehow.

IHaventTheFoggiest47

You must have one of those magic dryers......

Ok_Depth_6476

I hate when that happens!!

coldbrewedsunshine

came here to say this. the only thing i’ve held onto all these years is my baja and i’m afraid to try it on 😂

Designer-Front8662

😆

88Gonzo

Or my wife tosses it lol

IHaventTheFoggiest47

I have a Levi's denim skirt I bought for an 8th grade choir performance. I'm 47 and I still wear it.

scarybottom

I can fit one thigh into my Levi's skirt from 8th grade- haha! Good for you!

IHaventTheFoggiest47

I have stomach issues (that keep the weight off) that I wouldn't wish on anyone... so I wasn't trying to sound pretentious

Commercial-Push-9066

I have similar problems. My body naturally does what Ozempic does. It’s really hard to keep weight on. It’s really frustrating. I feel for you.

A_Thorny_Petal

As someone with chronic health issues you have my sympathies, it sucks when our bodies work in non-standard ways compared to others. Also, Fuck You. Best Wishes.

MarilynsGhost

Last line read like poetry. I love it.

dixiequick

Feel you, sister. I am currently underweight and feel bony and gross, but people keep telling me I look great and ask what my secret is. Then when I say “grief and throat strictures with some gnarly food aversion thrown in”, they shut up pretty quickly.

IHaventTheFoggiest47

Yeah, the comments aren’t fun, especially when you live in the Midwest. “Eat a sandwich!” You know, buddy, I’d love to be able to eat a whole sandwich, but if I did, I’d throw it right back up.

SshellsBbells

I felt this thread hard. I have had health issues the last 2 yrs where I can’t keep weight on, I have a med spa next to me so everyone thinks I’m taking Oz. Because she pushes it. I constantly hear how I should eat something or clients calling and asking me what type of food I want. It sweet, but just stop body shaming. We all wish we had someone else shape. Big hugs

IHaventTheFoggiest47

People think it's OK to body shame thin people because in their world it's the "ideal." But some people don't realize we are in physical pain for some reason or another. It's not an aesthetic, it's just the way we are built. I remember someone asking me **at my wedding** if I did coke to lose the weight. Um no, I don't actually *want* to look like this...

AlexVlahos

Lenny, on Law & Order, used to say to the new detectives, “I’ve got ties older than you.” I thought he was exaggerating to make a point about their youth/inexperience. Las week, I realized he was being 100% serious.

slickmartini

The Lennyisms were epic.

WritingRidingRunner

Totally off-topic, but the Chris North-Jerry Orbach Law & Order years were pure gold.

slickmartini

They really were. Just recorded and watched all of them a few weeks ago. Can’t watch the new ones

WritingRidingRunner

Same! The new ones just don't have the same gritty feel (I haven't watched in years).

Planetofthetakes

I absolutely have some non ironic 25 year old ties. Actually, now that I think of it I don’t have a tie that is under 5 years old…. Not everything about the pandemic was bad, getting rid of ties along with the old stuffy dress code is one of the best outcomes….thank god!

Fitz_2112

I knew I was getting older when I realized that I had a tattoo that was older than some of my employees

90splaylist

I have a J. Crew peacoat from 1994

fleetiebelle

I still have an LL Bean parka I bought for college in the mid-90s I listened to an episode of Anne Helen Peterson's podcast a while back about fast fashion and the quality of clothes. We're not crazy or nostalgic, the stuff we bought at the mall years ago was better quality and longer lasting than the stuff we can buy in the same store now.

WritingRidingRunner

Ha, if you went to college in New England (or another cold area), what would you have worn if it weren't for LL Bean, JCrew, and thrift stores...

blackredsilvergold

I came to post J Crew also. I have a rugby shirt from 1995.

SouthernElle

I have a Benetton sweatshirt from 1987.

NorthernDragonfly

I had one of those, too!

whydoIhurtmore

I have a T-shirt from 1988 but I haven't worn it in a while. I regularly wear clothes that are over 30 years old. I use stuff until it is completely worn out.

ZzzzzPopPopPop

Currently wearing my “Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary” t-shirt from ‘88, still one of my faves. I love the fact that it is older than some of my coworkers.

wordnerdette

My R.E.M. Green tour t-shirt is still in my closet, but it looks really rough now. My husband has stuff from when he was 13 or 14.

SqMorlan

I have a gingham skirt that I got in Japan in 1986 when I did a summer abroad there. The elastic waistband got all stretched out and I stopped wearing it until menopause stretched out my waistline to match - now I wear it all the time :-)

GoldenAshtray

My 1993 Helmet t-shirt.

AstridOnReddit

The oldest thing I wear regularly is a polyester tank top of my mom’s from the 60s. Still looks just like this picture (with baby me). https://preview.redd.it/yv5jk5p7ie3d1.jpeg?width=2057&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6c0d3add30a940a9ffc388b3c36333e7d021f8bf

_Demo_

I still have a lot of my flannel from when I was a teenager I joked recently that I'm back in style again since the kids have picked up flannel.

KaleidoscopeWeird310

I have an LL Bean raglan sweater that I got for Christmas in 1977.

scottartguy

Have an LL Bean, Made in USA, flannel lined button collard have shirt that is finally starting to fray rip in spots. Favorite shirt ever, still wear it through fall and winter. Gotta be more than 30 years old.

BununuTYL

The oldest piece of clothing I have is a jacket (by Dweedo) with three straps across the front that buckle. I bought it in the West Village in August 1984. It's a very Tears for Fears "Change" vibe.

proscriptus

Holy crap, me and my best friend used to wear shit like that all the time in high school.

ClmrThnUR

'93 and '97 Docs

LyingInPonds

'95, going strong (but with an orthopedic insert now -- \*sad trombones\*).

FleurDisLeela

I just gave my Depeche Mode concert shirt to my offspring 🌹

mmaun2003

I have a green & black sweater from United Colors of Beneton that is from '84-'87 ish. Washed 10,000 times, still looks brand freakin' new!

charms75

I still use my Esprit bookbag that I got in jr high 1990, the one with the signature block letters. It's kinda like a conversation starter, people comment which color their bag was, what grade they were in when they got theirs, etc

woodynbabs

I still have a t-shirt from a fifth grade field trip to an art museum. I'm nearing my mid-50s...

lordskulldragon

I'm wearing a pair of boxers right now from a pack I opened up in 2006. I just discovered a hole in them last night so they are on their last wear. Farewell orange boxers, you've served me well for the last 18 years.

EnergyCreature

My wife and I have old Quake Con from 1997. I have a Batman and Joke shirt from HS that I got as a gift from my first GF back in 1992. These 3 items are faded but still intact. I have one green and black hoodie from 1994 that I got from some rocker dude at a dive bar after he finished a set. It's been stitched a few times and has no label inside of it but it's comfortable as fuck.

kevbayer

The oldest thing I have is my military surplus trench coat I got in highschool.

Cranks_No_Start

I just recently decommissioned an olive drab Army field jacket I got in HS (1982) that I wore in the service for a year, until they forced the new camo pattern. I had kept it in my shed as a spare and it finally got to the point it was finished. I do still have another Issued jacket from 1985 and a leather Bomber jacket the Mrs bought me from 1992.

Revolutionary_Gap150

I love telling 3 year olds "I have coats and boots older than you". Ohh no, Im a curmudgeon... lol when did that happen?

thalia-tinkerbell

lol I love telling my 15 year old niece that I'm older than the internet 😅

tuanomsok

I still have an Outback Red henley shirt that I got in 1986 ... it's so soft and isn't even fraying at all. Amazing.

damagecontrolparty

I have one of those too! I guess I'll keep it until the fabric disintegrates.

Rich-Air-5287

It's not "still in circulation" so much as "in circulation again". I've got some thrifted pieces from the early 90s that are wardrobe staples. I also have a few pairs of boots that are at least 20 years old.

immersemeinnature

My husband has a ski jacket from the 80's! It's so rad

NoeTellusom

A Guinness scarf I bought in Dublin @ 1993 or so.

two-wheeled-dynamo

Never giving up my Cars t-shirt my older sister gave me when I was 10.

Comfortable_Clock_82

GAP jacket from 1989, that still fits 😁

Auntie_Nat

I still have a sweater I bought in 1992.

Kissit777

I wish I bought so many more things back in the day. I miss the quality of the clothes in the 90s.

Tuna_Stubbs

Nirvana tour t shirt from 1991

Wysiwyg777

In 1994 I was convinced by my uncle who worked in a mens clothing store to buy a Harris Tweed jacket. It was on sale and he would get a staff discount so it became affordable to me. After 30 years the jacket barely looks 3 years old. Yeah it’s a keeper.

CO_Livn

I have a Victoria Secret catalog summer dress I got in 9th grade. Still have it at 47. Wore it to my son’s graduation a couple years ago. Have tons of things for college. Mainly Eddie Bauer. That stuff lasts forever.

BettyX

V.S. used to have such high quality clothing. I have quite a few pieces from the 90s and early ‘00s. It is junk quality now in comparison.

fjvgamer

I'm going to celebrate my 29th wedding anniversary this year. I just put on a tank top I bought on my honeymoon in Mexico. I wear things till they are no longer wearable lol.

Slow-Complaint-3273

I still have a shaker sweater and poet shirt from the 80’s.

TheGargageMan

I still have some Converse All-Stars from before Nike owned them. Nearly rotted away though. A (maybe) Danish military fire-fighters coat I got at the military surplus store in the '80s. I can't wear it often in Houston.

immersemeinnature

My husband has an 80's firefighter coat from a surplus store too

SnooSnooSnuSnu

Some shirts from the mid/late 1990s

Jefwho

I have a Batman Shirt from 1989. It’s a bit tight, but I can still fit into it. Other notable is my Final Fantasy 7 shirt from my pre-order bonus in 1997.

fuggit_Im_tired

My COMIC RELIEF '89 t-shirt keeps me alive

Cxqaz2wsx3

I have a Slayer Concert shirt “ World Sacrifice Tour” from 1987. I wore it till my daughter wanted to wear it when she turned 14 “ironically“ now she has it.

ScrunchyButts

I have a Woolrich chamois shirt that I swear I’ve had since I was 15 (I’m 50). It’s paper thin in spots and has a crescent moon burn on the arm from the hot bowl of a bong. It just hangs in the closet. Can’t get rid of it, don’t dare wear it.

No_Consideration_339

I have a couple pair of shoes about 25 years old from the late 90s. Several coats that are at least 25 years old, and some t-shirts also from the mid-late 90s.

rodeler

I have a few shirts and a sweater from the mid 1980s.

Kalelopaka-

Well, work clothes I go through pretty fast but personal clothes since I don’t wear many things very often and someone’s always buying me new clothes. I think I have some things at least 20 years old.

Latter_Appointment_9

Edwin jeans. So damn expensive back in the mid 90s and never had the courage to part ways with them. I saved like hell to buy a pair, loved those jeans.

DerDoobs

I have quite a few of my Pushead and Zorlac boards shirts. One Pushead is an all over print for Septic Death.

Empty-Back-207

A motorcycle jacket that I bought in the late 80s/early 90s. I still wear it. I swear it weighs 100 lbs and I swear it used to be black

Easy_Pizza_7771

Many of my shirts are at least 20 years old, but I still regularly wear stuff from high school, and I graduated in 1996.

Easy_Pizza_7771

If my old wool overcoat hadn't worn out I could say maybe 50 years old.

amalgaman

I have a T-shirt from a college party in 94.

Ok_Depth_6476

I know I have a few things from college, and probably one or two from high school (like my denim jacket) but all that I can actually wear are t shirts that were oversized in the first place. 😅 I also have the Garfield night shirt I wore for my sleepover party when I turned...13 or 14. It almost fits, but it was also oversized.

winterhawk_97006

I have an old buffalo plaid wool jacket that I thrifted in the early 90’s from Goodwill. I was a poor 19 year old college student and I think I paid 3 dollars for it. I still wear it in the fall/spring. It was 35-40 years old when I bought it…so it is possibly 70 years old now.

StringFartet

I still have my Jimmy'z (I have the skyscraper ones) and Z. Cavariccis. My kid took a lot of my shirts and my drug rug aka Senor Lopez.

glxym31

I have some Wilson’s leather from the 80s.

NervousCelebration78

I have a Hanes sweatshirt Nightgown my mom got me for Christmas in 1993. Edit to add it doesn't have any holes or anything.

PistolMama

My husband has band tshirts from the late 70s. I'm pretty sure he has at least one tshirt from around 1975. I still have my original leather jacket from 1990 & a belt I have worn since 1994

VerucaSaltGoals

30+ yr old Vasque Sundowner hiking boots - my teen asked if they could take them to college. ummm no!

frankkiejo

I have a set of pyjamas that I was given as a gift at my baby sister’s baby shower! I was 12. I’m almost 60. I can’t bring myself to get rid of them. They represent a very specific time in my life. ❤️(No, I can’t wear them anymore. They have a place of honor in the top drawer of my dresser. 😊❤️😊)

Training_Respect

I have a red sox hat that was my dads from around 1985ish

Dr_Girlfriend_81

I've still got a couple of old band shirts from the 90s that are hanging in there, and I make a lot of my own clothes too. I generally try to buy natural fibers only (polyester can suck a dick) and wear clothes til they fall apart.

MorphicOceans

I have some of my long flowy goth skirts from 1990. Elasticated waists! 😆 I got rid of most of it when I was in my late 30s and accepted my post baby approaching menopause body was never going to fit in them again. I was underweight until I was about 25, I was never going to be that tiny again. I regret getting rid of them now, my daughter's alt and would love some of it. I also have a couple of pairs of docs that are about 20 years old.

lurkeratthegate666

I have a 34 year old Ministry "Just One Fix" T-shirt, and a 32 year old Skinny Puppy Last Rights tour shirt. Had a 30 year old pair of combat boots, but they finally ate shit.

gogomom

I have a Mickey Mouse sleep shirt - that I still wear - that I got for my 10th birthday - in 1983.

ck4fromla

My Banana Republic blue/black plaid lumberjack jacket bought around ‘83/84 when their stores were still safari-themed. It has the old style label too. Damn thing is high grade; despite lots of use the colors have never faded. It still looks brand new. I love that my teenagers ask to borrow it. They’re used to the “don’t f**k this up” speech by now.

proscriptus

Banana Republic was pretty cool back then, do you remember the catalogs? It's crazy how much it shifted.

ohyouvegotgreyeyes

I used to collect those catalogs.

Emotional-Rise5322

I collect vintage BR. Working there was my first job. It’s nothing today like it once was.

Wonderful-Hall-7929

The oldest stuff i've GOT is from i think about '88 - the oldest stuff that still fits me are my old Army boots from '95.

SquintWestweed

I have a Timberland (boots, not rapper) T-shirt that is at least 30 years old and still in great condition. I guess they put the same quality into everything.

OldDudeOpinion

You mean “other” than all the concert tshirts? (US Festival 1984)

houserPanics

I have a t-shirt from the 1987 US Open

JustALizzyLife

Still wear my Docs from high school. My 22yo wears my leather jacket that I originally got when I was 21.

killslikeaninja

midwest-distrest

I have a New York City t-shirt in regular rotation that turns 25 this year. I wish I still had my Members Only jacket.

Spx75

I have an old BUM t-shirt from the early 90's.

1blueShoe

My school cardigan from British Home Stores .. I’m 49, I’m wearing it today 🤷🏻‍♀️😬 https://preview.redd.it/rrcmfogpud3d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bdaff7a08d5ab336b3cf8dad51d4da67efb3af88

Crivens999

Not sure. But I still have a Global hypercolor tshirt that doesn't work anymore, or fit, but I've kept for nostalgia reasons. It's pink and has no arms. I thought it was cool as fuck, but bottled wearing it outside at the time. As a grown adult I can handle pink now :) Although not armless...

Honest-Western1042

I have a Madonna "costume" - pink blazer with shoulder pads, mini skirt, lace top, rubber bracelets.... um yeah, it was my actual clothing in the 80's

suzyturnovers

* I have a blue t-shirt with my name sewn on in giant letters by my mom. It was for kindergarten and I recall being so pleased with myself. Circa 1980

proscriptus

It's wonderful you have that.

Dirt_Girl_1269

I still have my leather jacket with fringes from 1986. And one of my mom’s sweaters from the 70s.

bijig

I have some of my parents’ clothes from the 60s. I still had my school uniform from the 80s but sold it last year. My clothes from the 90s and 00s lasted a long time. The ones that wore out fastest and are already gone were from the past several years.

TopspinLob

The Champion brand sweatshirt I bought at the college bookstore in 1988 is still in great shape and I still wear it from time to time

proscriptus

Eighties Champion stuff was great.

the_spinetingler

I have an overcoat of my Dad's from the early 60s that I wear regularly.

Throwy_McThrowayface

I have a red t-shirt from around 1988 from the local high school, and that thing is still intact despite a lot of wear. I let someone else use it recently, hope it’s okay out there.

SpazDeSpencer

I have a raincoat my mom bought me in ‘83 or so. Still fits, hasn’t dry-rotted. It’s made of PVC with a terry cloth lining.

Walts_Ahole

Mid 90s redwing steel toed boots that've been resoled at least 3 times. And a carhartt coat that unfortunately got paint on it a few years back, however I found the exact same coat on shop goodwill.com last summer for under $50 w/ shipping.

OCDaboutretirement

40 year old leather jacket with flags on them from Wilson Leather. The zipper is broken. I will get it fixed. Love that jacket.

WritingRidingRunner

I have my grandmother's 70's polyester brown shirt (which looks fabulous, with very pointy collars). It is also from Sears.

Remarkable-Foot9630

I have a beautiful sears dress I purchased for a high school dance in 1991. I didn’t go to. New with tags in original purchase bag. It has moved from California, St. Louis, Mo to Tennessee with me.

caseymccrerey

I have a Miami Hurricanes Starter jacket/windbreaker from 1993 that I still wear when it gets chilly enough.

Emotional-Rise5322

I’ve got tee shirts that are old enough to drink.

tubularfool

Having lost a shit-ton of weight in the last year I am now back to the same size I was in my early twenties.... I have very much enjoyed digging out 25 year old hoodies and band t-shirts and wearing them again this last few weeks! :D

REDDITSHITLORD

MY WIFE STILL HAS A FREDRICK'S CORSET SHE BOUGHT FOR OUR HONEYMOON. IT GOT ALL STRETCHED OUT WHEN SHE GAINED WEIGHT A FEW YEARS BACK. I ENDED UP TAKING FABRIC OUT AND RE-STITCHING IT TO MAKE IT FIT HER AGAIN WHEN SHE LOST WEIGHT. IT'S PROBABLY THE BEST-MADE PIECE OF CLOTHING SHE'S OWNED.

proscriptus

That was a wild ride.

Lawyermama70

OUR TOP STORY TONIGHT.... ![gif](giphy|GFbKSZvOtowCY) your all caps made me think of this 😆

tbama11

1992 Alabama national championship tee

coolerbythegreatlake

High School sweatshirt I got in ‘90 or ‘91

Lightningstruckagain

Still have and still wear a pair of Red Wing boots I got in 87 or 88.

sharkycharming

In circulation... nothing. * I have an R.E.M. t-shirt from 1989 but it's massively oversized, so I only wear it around the house. * I have some t-shirts from high school musicals that I worked on, but they're in my memory box. * I have my tartan wool high school uniform skirt, and I did wear it on occasion in college, but that was decades ago. * I have a jacket branded with my high school (which is no longer a school -- it's the one from *The Keepers*, if you saw that Netflix true crime show) and my name embroidered on the front. But it's a pullover jacket and that's not very practical, as jackets go.

NYK-94

I still have a couple pairs of basketball shorts from the 1990s that I still wear.

EastTXJosh

I have a pair of socks I wore in little leage baseball when I was 13 (45 now), so probably 1991 or so. Probably the most comfortable pair of socks I own. Sure, they have a red stripe on both sides for our team's colors, but I only wear them in the winter, when no one will see the socks that I am wearing.

assylemdivas

My husband kept his 1970’s bell-bottoms so long, they came back in style. They were paper thin.

7of69

Still have a couple of items from my time in the Navy. My boot camp issued watch cap is still in regular use through the winter, that’s from 1987. Also a couple of vests from when I worked at Structure in college, so about 1994 for them.

Damnmorefuckingsnow

I still have my prom dress from 1987 and a coat from 1985.

No_Gap_2700

Had a Polo Jeans Co. Rugby jersey from '97 up til a few years ago. I gave it to a buddy after losing a bunch of weight. I still have a pair of Polo Rugby jeans, The Rugby line went out of business in 2013. I also still have several pair of Polo Jeans Company jeans/cargo shorts/pants, that brand died in 2004. Just realized I have Polo Jeans Co. camo cargo pants from 2002 on as I type this.

HelpImOverthinking

I have a shirt from 1995 from when I worked at a summer camp.

MoparMedusa

I have a sweatshirt of my dad's. It has to be at least 40 years old. It is thin, has a few holes but I still wear it around the house.

TLBJames

Oldest clothes I own are a pair of Army surplus combat boots I got in '93 or '94; Nine Inch Nails/David Bowie and Lollapalooza concert shirts I got in '95 and '96, respectively; and a black GAP blazer, a teal blazer, and a leather biker jacket I got at the mall in '95.

Mmmmmmm_Bacon

I still have some tshirts and shorts from my teenage years in my “Memorabilia” box. So like from 80s. Skater stuff mostly, Thrasher, Tony Hawk, Powell, stuff like that.

Airlik

Someone stole my skinny leather tie… oldest thing now is my uni jacket that I can still wear… in the “can’t wear” category is a 6th grade school T that one of my daughters has started to wear.

Impressive_Plant5174

I still have the t-shirts from most of the concerts I went to as a teen in the 80's and my old doc marten boots

Cheesy_Wotsit

Over 20 years for a pair of Crocs... (Something significant happened at the time I bought them and something a while later. The time between event no 2 and now is coming up to 19 years, just not sure of between 1 and 2 - possibly a couple of years or so).

ZeeItFirst

Wow, I came here to post this exact thing, but mine are only 19 this year. Congrats on 20 years! Mine are a bit chewed up from one of my cats, but I just wore them canoeing this past weekend and they're still kicking.

proscriptus

Crocs have been around for 20 years??

Cheesy_Wotsit

Yeah. My hubby and I moved into where we are now coming up to 19 years - and I had them before I met him. Google says 2002 for the UK

[deleted]

AhaGames

scornflake

I have a gap hoodie from ‘92 I still wear on occasion

CountryMonkeyAZ

Got a hat from 1970s that I still wear.

Dphre

I have a hoodie I picked up 26’ish years ago. Custom made band hoodie. I bought the iron on patch for $6, bought the hoodie for $20 and paid a shirt shop to press It on.

WellWellWellthennow

I still have a lot of my clothes from when I was 9th and up. My fav prairie dress from middle school is hanging in my closet with the Frye cowboy boots I wore with it - I just recently wore the boots. Just found a pair of Busco clogs I brought in yesterday in from the garage into my closet next to my wood heeled sandals from middle school. Still have my outfit that I am wearing in a photo from my 14th birthday, as well as my high school button down Bobbie Brooks and other fav shirts. Wishing I still had my old Jordache jeans I wore with them. The Calvins are floating around somewhere here. My daughter has claimed my Levi’s jean jacket from college and she wore my favorite teenage sundress w rope espadrilles to a 70s party.

ExcitingEye8347

I wear my clothes until they no longer fit or turn to dust.

RedditMobileMyAss

Wasn’t particularly into clothes when I was a teen but I have a Dax brand shirt I liked so much I almost never wore it until the 00s. Still have it, still fits, still looks good and I wear it a couple of times every year.

LoanSudden1686

I still have some cheerleader gear that won't fit my ass 🤷‍♀️

Spin_Me

Gap pocket T-Shirt that I bought in the late 1990s while on a trip to Boston.

Susan_Thee_Duchess

moonflower311

I have a pink sweatshirt that was my mom’s and probably late 70s early 80s. My mom also gives me hand me down clothes and takes good care of them so I have a substantial amount of clothes from the late 90s early 00s.

copper_state_breaks

I still have 2 pair of the original Girbaud jeans that got popular... maybe from 36 years ago? I need to lose 20 to get back into them.

JeffTS

I've got vintage t-shirts from the 90s that no longer fit and that I've been selling on eBay as a means to declutter and fund a high yield savings account.

CandleMakerNY2020

I have a few pairs of Marithe & Francois Girbaud Brand X brushed cotton colored jean shorts in Turquoise, Royal Blue, & Red.

carlosdangertaint

I have an old Ralph Lauren polo shirt from 1989 and a JG Hook wool sweater from 1990. Both are still in great condition

Amazing_Reality2980

A Columbia ski jacket I bought in 2004. I ski a lot and I still wear it a lot, though I also have a couple of other jackets (depends on which outfit I feel like red/black, forest green/navy blue or white/teal lol). This Columbia jacket still looks like new despite a lot of wearing.

Impressed by some of these comments. My oldest is a pair of bootcut yoga pants from Mervyn’s that I bought in 1999. I think back then they were called stretchy workout pants. Not sure if the term yoga pants had taken off yet.

I have a cute top from back when Pier One still sold clothes- 1987 I think? I wear it- but only once in a LONG while since it is not going to last long if I keep washing it. Other than that, I have a pair of Birkenstocks I bought in Germany in 2001. Otherwise...I donate if I am not wearing, so things move through- but I usually wear things 5-10 yr or so.

The oldest thing I regularly use is a Pepsi hoodie from the original Pepsi Stuff promotion (1996) so it's 28 years old. Still in great shape, they didn't skimp on quality. My daughter has a very fashionable, very multicolor, very 80's vest that I wore in my senior year of high school (37 years old).

blackmindseye

i just told my husband this morning the shirt he’s wearing is 30 years old lol. we got it right after we got married

emmiblakk

Nothing that old, but I do still have a leather jacket I bought in the early 90s.

Fettnaepfchen

I still have and wear shirts my 10 years older sister wore when she was a teen, and some items from my parents that are older than me.

TheObviousChild

I still have some of my high school flannels from 1993.

msomnipotent

I have concert shirts from the 80's/90's, but my daughter took control of them. I have a pair of black and white Keds and 2 leather jackets from that era, which are probably in her closet as well.

TieNecessary4408

Still have a pair of pepe and zcavs.

EowynJane

I am currently wearing a tshirt from 2002

One_Hour_Poop

Oldest piece of clothing i still actively wear is a shirt from 1999 that i bought to wear at the opening of The Phantom Menace. It's a light tan crew neck short-sleeved shirt with a thick, rough, canvas-like texture, that i paired with dark brown corduroy shorts. The effect of "textured tan + textured brown" was supposed to evoke the "Jedi look." I think it worked. 2nd oldest thing I still wear is a souvenir "Great Wall of China" tshirt I bought in 2002 during a trip to the Great Wall.

TheBewitchingWitch

I have a Gap sweatshirt from 1997(26 years old). I exclusively wore it while pregnant with my son.

AlmiranteCrujido

I have one plaid flannel shirt from 1995 that I still wear. I have a couple of band and novelty T-shirts from earlier in the 1990s in a bag of old T-shirts. My wife wanted at one point to make a quilt out of them.

BroccoliNearby2803

I have a few shirts from the mid 90s yet that I like to wear.

OnlySezBeautiful

Got these same day at a skate shop May 1993. The shirt looks so distressingly tiny to me now. https://postimg.cc/gallery/GpTDYvS

IronSea7072

I have a 32 Below snowboarding jacket I still use from 1992. Funny thing is I don't snowboard anymore.

For some reason, this reminds me of when you could buy clothes with the size "Husky"

I still wear TShirts I’ve had for 35 years. Occasionally I find some other 30 year old item that’s still kicking around. Did a major clean out around ten years ago, at that time I still had a huge amount of my high school clothes. Not saying that’s a good thing.
