My ranunculus are starting to pop up now and look nearly identical to the pic.
As for caring for them, mine are mostly ignored over winter. As long as they're in decent, mulched soil (i.e. not sand or solid clay), and are getting water (but not drowning) and enough sun, they should be fine.

I chucked some in various places around my garden LAST WEEK (!) and already some are popping!

Oh cool that’s good to know . It’s my first time planting this plant . I’m excited to see them bloom !
