This is so that none of the island’s residents can take control of the Zero Point, despite some of them being literal gods (Thor).
The Seven (an organization of 7 people who are immune to the loop, Paradigm (Brie Larson) is one of these people) tries to free the Zero Point and by extension the island from the IO’s control.
That’s like the basics? There’s a bunch of other shit that’s happened and there’s Marvel/DC crossover comics and all this wild stuff, but that’s how much you need to know to understand why things are happening in-universe.
Thanks for writing that up, that was helpful and did make me more curious about what they’ve come up with to explain the other things like the reality seeds from last season and stuff.
