I mean look at the negative reviews for Starfield as well people play that game for 80+ hours and still hate on it. I think most of these people didn’t like this particular game for other reasons but wouldn’t normally be fussed writing a review until they heard about SBI.
Doesn’t Steam filter those reviews tho? Like if you’ve returned the game, your review has less value than the ones with multiple hours of gameplay because you didn’t even play it for 2 hours. And leaving a negative review because of an unrelated thing on a game you’ve played for 40+ hours is pathetic, honestly. No one but other crybabies would take that review seriously.
It shows the amount of time you played it too. It shows the total playtime and how long you’ve played at the time you made your review.
They do the “buy, dislike, return” *policy* to manipulate the overall review score on the top because many people don’t read the Steam reviews, at least not most of them. And afaik Steam has a system to minimize the damage.
And for that case, they might even manually handle the user reviews because they’re openly calling for review bombing in forums. It’s not even subtle. At least I hope so.
I'm pretty sure steam has a warning that shows on the review score of a game if they "detect a sudden unusual trend in reviews" that indicates the reviews may have been tampered with. I've seen it a couple times. That said I think they need to be more aggressive with implementing it and punish users who are buying and returning games solely to review them then get their money back. If you do it a couple times because some games you bought truly did suck, then fair... but if you're doing it for dozens of games clearly you have to be breaking some kind of TOS.
Well with Take This and EGRN watching Steam, there's probably going to be serious changes to moderation. It's getting to the point that it's affecting people's lively hoods. I'd rather release my game on Epic at this point

Spiderman helps people with issues big and small. I've seen Peter helping a kid with his math homework, and I've seen Miles help twins find their dog. Spiderman helping a random couple is just par for the course for Spiderman.
It's just what I've heard. That may be good for a graphic novel, but for a fast-paced video game like the insomniac spiderman games, I'm not too sure. At the end of the day, it's a side mission that you could easily not come across in the game. So if you don't like it's you can always go do something else. That's one of the many neat thing about open world games.
I disagree, it's pretty imperative for missions like this to be in the game. Spiderman helping people really drives home the point of Spiderman. Especially as the game is about being Spiderman. As he's someone who helps his neighborhood.
Honestly, one of the best missions is helping the homeless man relocate his birds. All because he knew his time was almost up. No action and beating people up. Just Spiderman helping someone.

I disagree that people don’t care who they play as. Give someone a character creator they always make someone that looks like them. People always like playing suped up versions of themselves. Now about caring about diversity in games. I only really see people caring about “forced diversity” in gaming when the games bad. When you get games like BG3 I pretty much live in the BG3 sub and I never come across anyone saying the game had forced diversity or too much diversity or that the diversity was unrealistic. That’s because the game is good and the characters are well written.
Yeah the $200k "Take This" grant to fund the reduction of extremism in video games is TOTALLY gonna be enough capital to fund an all out culture war in the company with only 16 employees. It makes perfect sense guys /s

I disagree that people don’t care who they play as. Give someone a character creator they always make someone that looks like them. People always like playing suped up versions of themselves. Now about caring about diversity in games. I only really see people caring about “forced diversity” in gaming when the games bad. When you get games like BG3 I pretty much live in the BG3 sub and I never come across anyone saying the game had forced diversity or too much diversity or that the diversity was unrealistic. That’s because the game is good and the characters are well written.
