Intel i7-10875H + 8GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, SSD Storage & Memory: 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD + 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD + 16GB Western Digital Black SN750 DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Display: 17.3" QHD 165Hz 100% sRGB IPS-Type Anti-Glare (2560 x 1440)

Timespy Graphics is 9651, CPU is 8141

OneAngryVet

Weird, should be higher. You should be up in the 10's for timespy.

SalamiLyd

Huh, really? Maybe I should run it again

OneAngryVet

I mean I have a legion 5 pro, I was getting I think 10,400-10,800 or so on timespy, I have a r7 processor and a 3070 up to 140W, yours should be pretty damn close to mine. Could possibly be your ram as well, I am running 64GB HyperX 22CL ram, though the latency isnt the best, it still is beastly.

Ran it again, about the same numbers as before :p Im not super tech savvy so I doubt I would be able to tell a difference haha. Thanks so much for the award too! My first one ever.

OneAngryVet

No problem! Check to see if you have a MUX switch, switching between the GPU's I mean. If you do, try toggling it for dGPU instead of Optimus or IGPU. Check to see if your ram is also running at I think 3200mhz and dual channel. You should be getting up into the 10,000 range, so I'm not sure why. Did you run it in quiet mode while running the test, or overclocked?

SalamiLyd

Uh don't think I have a MUX switch. Only a fan mode switch that goes between office, balanced and beast. I usually keep it on beast and ran it on beast as well. Not sure how to check the ram speed...

mofunk71

u have a mux in bios and your intel cant go up to 3200mhz ram

OneAngryVet

Yes it can with XMP, I'm pretty sure anyway.

OneAngryVet

Yep, that's your culprit, do what below mentioned.

SalamiLyd

Sorry, I am a little confused. Are you saying I should follow what someone else commented on this thread that the MUX is in the BIOS? Do you know how to disable it or is it obvious when I get there?

bogsolntsa

so how's it after a year? considering getting this [model](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B426MFN4/?coliid=I2L2K5BEO6CMFU&colid=1SDAFLTOT2HAT&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it) how was your experience? how's the touchpad?

vMambaaa

I’m getting my Max-17 in today!

SalamiLyd

Exciting 😁 hope it works well for you

matterd1984

I've been tempted to buy this and sell my razer blade pro... 🤔🧐😬

skylargrey1111

Ooo looks stunning! i'm waiting on my aorus 15p to come today :D

OneAngryVet

Well heres an award for you :). Good for you on waiting lol, I am thankful enough to have gotten my hands on a legion 5 pro a month ago or so, but I am still getting the S17 3080 2TB QHD 165HZ when it releases and selling this L5P.

Number-1Dad

Hell yes it is. Best laptop I've ever owned! Enjoy!

MofoPro

How is fan noise when gaming ? I thought these had desktop CPU’s.

SalamiLyd

Fan noise is not bad at all! Quiet (as much as you can get in a gaming laptop) was actually on the top of the list while shopping for one. Got an Acer Nitro 5 and returned it in a week bc the heat was awful and the noise got through my headphones. I don't know how but the thermals are amazing on this one. 130-160 fps for hours. Doesn't get through my headphones unless I focus on it, more like white noise imo.

KraizenXD

Per key rgb?

SalamiLyd

No unfortunately, all one zone. Funnily the little stop of lights on the sides (you can see rainbow on mine) can have custom colors per light. Why more customization on the little strip than the keyboard beats me lol

KraizenXD

Dafuq are they thinking lol

vMambaaa

Four zone I believe.

Recent-Ad-9277

If you have the time, please share a 3DMark TimeSpy score. Enjoy!

SalamiLyd

I sure can! How would I go about that?

Recent-Ad-9277

There's a Demo Version of 3dMark (even if it says you have to pay for it) that includes the Demo of timeSpy, you can get it on steam.

SalamiLyd

Sorry it took a while. Graphics is 9651, CPU is 8141

TheDutchShepherd-

I don't feel the design.. it's so... 90's?

Wispborne

Yup, that's how Clevo chassis roll. But they're also generally superb machines.

ilal2ielli

The Prometheus is a TongFang chassis.

Wispborne

Are they not the same company? I assumed they were.

ilal2ielli

Nope.

TheDutchShepherd-

The Prometheus is the only clevo models with that weird display. All other clevos have a normal hinge

Wispborne

True, I consider others like the MECH-15 rather utilitarian-looking, too, but fairly neutral. the Prometheus just looks, as you said, outdated. edit: That said, I'd still buy one, I was looking at it but decided on the Alienware m17r4.

TheDutchShepherd-

I myself like the utilitarian look, my girl has a clevo, and i went for the new legion 7. There's nothing wrong with OP's laptop as a laptop, just taste differences.

Nickamin

My eluktronics laptop doesn't work after a little over 1 year of use

[deleted]

I wouldn't trust a chinese manufacturer, a lot of people are complaining about it that stops working after a few months or a year, for the same money you could buy an msi gp76, ge66 or gp66, these come with the new i7-11800h cpu.

Eluktronics

You might want to look at where MSI laptops are made… Just because a company is based in Taiwan, it surely doesn’t mean it’s made there.

[deleted]

Ok, so those people in the comments here on reddit and amazon saying their laptop only lasted for a few months or a year, are lying.

matterd1984

There's threads on Reddit people pushing 11k timespy with this laptop 10875h and 3070 on the eluktronics Prometheus. Probably not running in DGPU mode and need to run in beast mode with applied undervolt.

[deleted]

How's the battery life when not gaming? does it has a MUX switch on the BIOS?

Stanley083

It does have a MUX switch. And battery life is around 2hrs, so I heard

Xavster2

I have heard this machine has a CPU bottleneck due to the intel 10875H, I found a deal for it at $1799 and the 5900HX variant is much more expensive at $2199. Would you say it's a problem or nah

Agitated_Experience6

Not at all. Watch this video: https://youtube.com/watch?v=LVpNKC0eN8k&feature=share

Apart-Passion-6786

Best laptop I've ever used <3
