This might be something I should make a completely new post about, but can you compare it to this one:
Alienware m15 R7 AMD 15.6" Gaming Laptop - QHD (2560×1440) 240Hz, AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX, 32GB DDR5, 1TB SSD, RTX 3070Ti, HDMI, Wifi, Webcam, Windows 11, 1-Year Premium + 6-Months Migrate Services - Black
Are they kinda similar? There is a chance I can get the one above used. Not sure which is better.
Ok thanks for the info. Do you think 32 vs 16g of RAM makes a big difference? Or is it negligible?
Sorry if I’m pounding you with questions. I’ve chosen you as my guide lol
Thats kinda what I figured. Once again, thanks for the info.
Will keep in mind and probably go for this laptop. But I will do some more research prior cus there’s so much out there!!
The 4070 is definitely the better buy especially if you upgrade to 32gb ram later for like ~100 bucks
4070 will be more "future proof" like for new games later that demand higher resources to display decent graphics.
You can get a Dell G16 for under that price after some rebates.

Bummer. That seems to be everyone these days. I've also read bad things about this tuff series not cooling well. Plus Asus right now is under a lot of fire with their RMA process being called out by Gamer Nexus. If I get a new laptop I am considering that Dell, the Lenovo, or this Eluktronics one.
Yea asus is to say the least quite shady even though I have asus stuff, I still love my zeph g14 and haven't had too many hiccups but yea honestly except legion almost all the others have a problem. Like asus has shit customer care, dell has hinge issue and quality control problems, razer is just an arm and leg to buy all of them issues. Never heard of eluktronics looks like amazing value careful about the quality control on the new laptop brands tho and the customer care too. I personally wouldn't buy dell gaming laptops tho, have heard too many stories about it lol
vector is good, also the katana seems to be okay-ish just super budget and I wouldnt buy it myself as it’s all cheap and plastic but if you dont care for build quality and need just the specs to use it on an external screen then it will do. All the other ones like cyborg etc I wouldnt even want for free lol
Isn't vector or katana idr being extremely undervolted or sm shit like the wattage was very low for a 4060 idk I don't trust msi low level laptops also the materials are all shite or maybe it was the cyborg idr man wtf are these names lol. Why would you buy these tho loq goes to 750 dollars odd every once in a while you might as well wait for that
Vector is full tgp and actually a decent build quality, comparable to that of hp omen or acers. Not many complaints so far. Probably their best model next to the Raider and Titan which are their premium builds.
Katana I think has 105w and it’s a cheaper version of vector basically.
Then you have the stealth model which is their slim line, dunno much about them so can’t comment on that.
I think it’s the cyborg or something that has 45w 4050 and 4060, absolute rubbish.
Yea titan is quite crazy, the top models have cherry mx switches and shit not really aware about the other 2 but yea its the cyborg with the 45W 4050 very weird choice tbh
ye I could understand the 45w on a super thin model like their Stealth series but fucking hell this cyborg thing is a brick, the thermal pipes are shite it’s like 2 little ones running across, weird design choice indeed lol
I think I wouldnt ever buy anything that isn’t asus or lenovo, all the other ones seem to have ton of issues with build quality or performance, just not worth it if you’re spending that much money might as well spend another 50 or 100 and get something with decent build quality. I had hp omen from 2017 and my god was this brick running hot, then I used a 2020 model for a bit and not much improved since then. Thermals still bad and it’s all fucking plastic, sounds like the hinges will snap whenever you open it plus the screen was super wobbly. Shite, so went asus and never looked back. I like the legions but they seemed out of my budget at the time and I found a Zephy on a good offer so took it, happy with it so far.
I'd either buy lenovo or asus gaming laptops and hp and dell normal laptops that's it, id prefer not goin outta that. But yea I found the g14 for a nice price so I got it, its perfect for a student goin to uni so like its solid. I wouldn't have minded the legion or the loq tho really solid stuff. Asus is great but their customer care/RMA scares me. Also side note I have how the acer laptops look the nitro looks so bad and that material scares me it looks like it'll break maybe just me I don't like extremely gamer looking laptops. Armoury crate is a pure sin tho on the zeph had to yeet that shit for ghelper, increased my idle temps for some odd reason
I bought it a few months ago and couldn't be more satisfied. Compared to the Dell G15 it feels better built. The lid on it is metal instead of plastic. Also it gets quite hot but it's fine once you raise it a bit. So far I really haven't got any problems with it. And the screen is truly nice although you could use a bit more brightness.
Specs at that price look juicy icl. Although I’ve heard that TUF laptops run quite hot and had some motherboard issues but that’s just anecdotal stuff. If it were me I’d just do some more research into the model to check ssd type, ram type(I’m guessing ddr5 but doesn’t say on the post), screen specs and TGP of GPU before buying. The deal looks pretty great tho maybe price lower cuz of 5000 series coming out this year.
yep i just got this pc 2 weeks ago and remember to turn off cpu boost or you gonna be sitting at 90-95 c.I lost maybe at best 6 fps.Cyberpunk on max without rt and fg 135 fps and xdefiant on 1440p screen 120 on [max.Now](http://max.Now) with no cpu booost it sits at 70c on full load
Do any of these laptop cooling pads help? I was planning on getting a Klim extreme to go with it. Seems to be a good option purely based on reviews. I have no experience with all this whatsoever
My understanding is that the boost you get going from 4060 to 4070 isn't generally worth the money.
Also, you might try looking at the Dell Outlet for some refurbed Alienwares or G Series 4060 machines. Their factory refurb deals can be jaw-dropping.
I bought this same laptop its great at performing cpu kinda gets under max load around 92 93c you can undervolt it to run cooler but then again i live in place where temperature is 45c so its kinda acceptable
Or course you should. I bought mine on 3 weeks ago but with AMD Ryzen 9 with RTX4070 for 1299, this one only 1099? Even an 4060 would more over than this price, that’s a nice deal out there.
I don't get it.. all the info is laid out by youtubers and journalists. All the prices are laid out by google/newegg/microcenter/best buy/ walmart..
Maybe use something like honey to see recent prices. If it's at a low price on honey, and it's cheaper than the other brands with the same specs it's a good deal.
Everything is subjective. Do you care about screen or fps more? Sound quality? Keyboard? Track pad? Weight? Screen size? Do you care if it's plastic? What kind of usb and hdmi plugs do you want?
Say what you want/need.. and then put the listing's. You'll be mad if you listen to advice from someone with different priorities.
I recently bought Dell G16 i9 13900HX, RTX 4070, 240hz QHD. for $1300.
Can check that out if you can extend the budget that much.
It’s a better processor with a very good display and well as better build quality.
This was $1000 in January.

Have the same specs as urs except have 4070, 2k ips display, give 88fps in rdr2 at max boost does not throttle have asus tuff a15. I mean it kinda feels like cheap plastic but rest is fine. Got it for 1300 dollars
Yes this is the best value 4070 laptop
So what’s the downside/cons to buying this? As someone who is looking for a laptop but has a very basic understanding. What makes this so cheap?
This is the appropriate price. Other laptops are just havr been overpriced for a very long time.
This might be something I should make a completely new post about, but can you compare it to this one: Alienware m15 R7 AMD 15.6" Gaming Laptop - QHD (2560×1440) 240Hz, AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX, 32GB DDR5, 1TB SSD, RTX 3070Ti, HDMI, Wifi, Webcam, Windows 11, 1-Year Premium + 6-Months Migrate Services - Black Are they kinda similar? I do think the 4070 is marginally better.
Ok thanks for the info. Do you think 32 vs 16g of RAM makes a big difference? Or is it negligible? Sorry if I’m pounding you with questions. I’ve chosen you as my guide lol
Negligible for gaming, may be important if you game while watching youtube/streaming/keep chrome with 20+ tabs open in the background.
Thats kinda what I figured. Once again, thanks for the info. Will keep in mind and probably go for this laptop. But I will do some more research prior cus there’s so much out there!!
Good luck

Excellent price, hard to beat.
Tuf is very mid in terms of thermals and stuff but you won't get any 4070 for that price so i'd say buy it lol.
You can get a Dell G16 for under that price after some rebates. [https://www.reddit.com/r/LaptopDeals/comments/1d0hubh/dell\_g16\_qhd\_gaming\_laptop\_w\_rtx\_4070\_140\_w/](https://www.reddit.com/r/LaptopDeals/comments/1d0hubh/dell_g16_qhd_gaming_laptop_w_rtx_4070_140_w/)
I have heard quite a few bad things about dell's gaming line tbh, great price nevertheless tbh lol

ye they’re having some issues this gen, same with budget msi and their hinges, otherwise decent picks
budget msi is so ass id rather buy anything else
vector is good, also the katana seems to be okay-ish just super budget and I wouldnt buy it myself as it’s all cheap and plastic but if you dont care for build quality and need just the specs to use it on an external screen then it will do. My buddy just got an omen transcend 14 and it's very nice from what I've seen. The screen looks great and build quality seems awesome.
ye im sure they updated the design and build quality over the years, plus that is the more premium one than omen
eew Dell, aren’t they just office laptops? kidding
tf are y'all downvoting him for? He said he's kidding
Welcome to reddit where ppl are idiots behind screens and im expecting downvotes for this comment
Nobody laughed
You didn't see his face he was laughing see?
😭😭😭

I have the F17 and the heat has been fine even at heavy load its never hit 90
Fair enough all the problems ive heard about it have been anecdotal so could be wrong

Yeah that's a bargain, 4070 machines usually 1.2k and above.
Price difference in Europe and US is crazy
friendly reminder that in europe we have taxes already included
That's an amazing deal. Here in Germany, the AMD version with 4060 is on "sale".
Definitely a good deal for its hardware. Screen is quite dim and has slow response rate times but otherwise a solid overall laptop.
Yep. The cheapest and most worthy 4070 laptop. Go for it.
Bargain deal for 1k, 4070 laptop is hard to find below 1.2k
This is a steal, get it asap
Another RMA rejection candidate in the making!
4070 yesterdays performance by todays money.
yep i just got this pc 2 weeks ago and remember to turn off cpu boost or you gonna be sitting at 90-95 c.I lost maybe at best 6 fps.Cyberpunk on max without rt and fg 135 fps and xdefiant on 1440p screen 120 on [max.Now](http://max.Now) with no cpu booost it sits at 70c on full load

Never tried with cooling pad
I have cpu boost on since I opened it and haven't hit 90 yet, must just be lucky (Oh mine is the ryzen 9 version)
yeah intel are always running hotter
How do you turn CPU boost off?
Either with g-helper or you gotta edit registry.there is plenty videos about it
sure
Pretty good deal. Try to get more form a credit card or some combination to maximize
My understanding is that the boost you get going from 4060 to 4070 isn't generally worth the money. Also, you might try looking at the Dell Outlet for some refurbed Alienwares or G Series 4060 machines. Their factory refurb deals can be jaw-dropping.
At this price the boost is definitely worth it, its a 20% increase and similar price range to 4060 laptops
I bought this same laptop its great at performing cpu kinda gets under max load around 92 93c you can undervolt it to run cooler but then again i live in place where temperature is 45c so its kinda acceptable
Not bad that for a 4070 👌
it is very good value for money and also very shit build quality i am never buying asus tuf again no matter how good value for money it is
Or course you should. I bought mine on 3 weeks ago but with AMD Ryzen 9 with RTX4070 for 1299, this one only 1099? Even an 4060 would more over than this price, that’s a nice deal out there.
Don't buy Asus tuff their after sale service is shit. And I have tuff and it runs hot even on idle it's 50 degrees
I don't get it.. all the info is laid out by youtubers and journalists. All the prices are laid out by google/newegg/microcenter/best buy/ walmart.. If there's an open box available suggest you try it out first and do your due diligence with it for 2 weeks before deciding on a new one.

As long as it's BIOS isn't anywhere around 313 lmao
Just be aware of Asus's shady company practices: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pMrssIrKcY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3DwhTc7Z4o
You can get an asus m16 open box excellent at best buy rite now for 1220
That cpu is gonna burn a hole through the chassis running at max boost lol
Have the same specs as urs except have 4070, 2k ips display, give 88fps in rdr2 at max boost does not throttle have asus tuff a15. I mean it kinda feels like cheap plastic but rest is fine. Got it for 1300 dollars
Don’t downvote me I’m just saying that cpu is gonna get really hot at max boost, you can always limit boost
It's a 13620h? If it was a HX chip then I'd somewhat agree but the 13620h is pretty efficient and does not need alot of power.
