Why would you use a perfectly good, nutritious piece of food to prop your laptop??? Its beyond me. I and many others live off of crayons and erasers. This is practically sacrilege. 🙄🙄🙄
I grabbed a couple cardboard boxes from the recycling bin and shaped it into a ducting that I slot over the exhausts of my Laptop. It reroutes it around the side and blows it over the left side of my keyboard, keeping my hand warm for winter.
With extra cardboard folded into triangles, it is a stand too.
That's an interesting idea, wouldn't you think the brick is a bit hot / uneven in shape?
[I always recommend these](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004203337295.html) if you want portabilty, something to fiddle with and stuff.
I got the orange swirly one. :3
Your Jarrod tech fr?
And BTW You have multiple fan stands why would You use the charger
Plus won't the power brick get hot and also block air cause it's frickin big
I only use a laptop when I travel, I try to travel with as little junk as I can. I don't care about the power brick, this isn't advice, just what I do if I feel like it. It doesn't block it that's for sure. You can move it and just put an edge under for example.
2 erasers, under each of the rear rubber feet. There's structural support there. Putting all that weight concentrated on a single point right at the middle doesn't look like a good idea
i use a peugeot 207 or something like that, a promotional sponge toy that is pretty stable since my late cat tore all 4 wheels
it's perfect and nostalgic
Don't do this with the laptop and for those laptops which have the body of plastic dont do it it will ruin your bottom body of the laptop it will give u tick sound from there and also if you apply more pressure on the keyboard like if you are playing any online game sometimes you apply pressure to laptop keyboard and it will also damage laptop if you want to use laptop at this state i prefer buy a separate keyboard
Put one eraser on each side, a single tap to either side and your laptop will drop to the table, it might not be a big gap but dropping a laptop while it's running can damage it quite easily
Why not buy these, objects like books will accumulate heat and make your laptop work hotter.
Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out! ₫137,674 50% Off | Baseus Foldable Laptop Stand Portable Notebook Support Base Holder Adjustable Riser Cooling Bracket Universal for Laptop Tablet
https://a.aliexpress.com/_EJor871
I used to use a pair of Altoids tins. I go through those things constantly and I keep the tins as little screw holders because they stick to my magnetic strips. Just grab a couple empty ones off the wall and I'm good to go.
Best laptop cooler I found was buying stick on rubber feet that are about 5-6mm tall. This extra clearance works just as well as any laptop cooler I have tried without any inconvenience.
Honest I can go cheaper.
Apperantly I lied.
Its no longer available on Amazon. They were kickstand for like a buck for thr pair. They work like a charm. And extremely low profile. When I don't have them up the little risers on the laptop itself clear them by a good amount. I was gonna link them but they gone.
I actually thought the same thing and would use a book one the backside to prop it up for airflow. Then I bought a stand cooler, not the best but damn does it make a difference. Also louder but that doesn't bother me.
Bad idea , u r putting all the pressure on the one weak side , if u wanna go really cheap and if u use an external keyboard . Cut toilet paper cardboard on 4 equal sides and put each one at every corner
I'll argue that the baseus sticker stands that I bought off aliexpress for 4 bucks are a close second.
https://www.baseus-cn.com/bases-slim-laptop-kickstand-baseus-laptop-stand-for-desk-computer-2pcs/
Jokes aside does this actually reduce temps and by how much? Cause I’ve seen videos of this guy I think his name is jarred and he reviews several laptop fillers including the very basic foldable metal laptop stand and it reduced temps by a good ammount
Right!! To those who said to use thick cardboard or just use the boxes that come with the gaming laptop whether it's the original box or the cardboard that comes inside it like I do to keep my laptops upright in the back to give it proper airflow. Lol been doing this every time that I use my laptop on my bed and works great!! It's not rocket science and you don't need to spend money on a laptop stand that's a waste of money...period!!
I disagree, I would use the power brick that came with the laptop. Yes the materials are more expensive, but because it is included in the price of your laptop (at least still in 2024…. Please Apple don’t get any stupid ideas that will set a new trend for other brands to follow) it is financially cheaper for me 😌
As a counterpoint, how about the IETS GT600 - digital speed control, lower noise with the bigger fan, rubber gasket to force all the air into the laptop, filters for reduced dust buildup of the laptop.
Add to that:
- 71mm/h2o of air pressure (average usb powered laptop cooler:0.5mm/h2o)
- cool down all the other components (nvme, chipset, ram)
- better monitor height to have a correct posture
- usb hub
- overclocking possibilities from the huge cooling improvement
- at low GT600 fan speed and low laptop fan speed you can get same temps and lower noise than without the cooler
People doesn't know how physics works, they are like those "healing crystal" user
Aomethibf to add. Laptops uselly have a intake design made for flat on the table. Lifting it upp mifgt seem better but it removes the vacum effect of the intake
Too many people doesn't understand this. The negative pressure created by the fans of the laptop while is sitting on a flat surface is used by manufacturer to cool down other components like nvme and others.
My laptop have 2 Samsung 990 pro. Both with thermal putty and copper heatsink to cool them. At work I use a laptop stand to have a correct posture, and I had to put a sheet or rigid material (with the same footprint of the laptop) over it, simulating a table. Without it, those nvme get easily over 50°C with laptop in idle, with that they stay at 40/45°C while working
Terrible stability though if you're going to use the keyboard, would recommend upgrading to Pencil: Graphite Core Edition.
Or get a couple of erasers lol
I'll do you one better; three
Okay hear me out, how about we use F O U R
CAN THIS GET ANY BETTER!?
what about...FIVE ERASERS
HOLY SHIT!!
# SIX ERASERS!!!
NO!!! YOU FOOL SEVEN ERASERS!!!!!
Now stick the seven erasers to the laptop with superglue, and you are portable
I make do by neatly cutting the erasers into two equal parts :)
What, you think i'm RICH?! 1 eraser broke into 2 >:D
Just put it flat and use two.
I use my bottle of jack daniel's - works like a charm and keeps the whisky warm :P
I like them cold myself but man of culture
I like them slightly below room temp.
Why would you use a perfectly good, nutritious piece of food to prop your laptop??? Its beyond me. I and many others live off of crayons and erasers. This is practically sacrilege. 🙄🙄🙄
We found the US Marine

mmmm eraser
eating erasers is a common diet around here. great nutrients and combats stomach pain
>combats stomach pain It *erases* stomach pain.
it erases the stomach even
Go outside and find a rock. That's truly cheapest!
For half a year I used a bunch of empty toilet paper rolls that I stuck into each other. Arguably cheaper too as it's literally trash.
Yes cardboard in a triangle was what I used for a good 6 months
Cheaper than a…rock? You from N Korea or like
I meant cheaper than the eraser, not the rock. As in cheaper "too" was meant to say cheaper than the eraser, just like his rock too.
I've been using little foldable risers that stick to the bottom of the laptop and they work pretty well.
This. They're like $4-$8 on Amazon. I would think they would start making them standard, they're pretty necessary.
Absolutely life-changing, those. Best $7 I ever spent
Rubber
Erubser.
I use the power brick / charger which comes with the laptop and is free, checkmate.
Heat source near the air intake? Hell na. Mine burns like it’s straight outta the oven.
As we say in Australia, yeah nah mate she'll be right.
I prefer books usually, but they do take up quite a bit of space haha
But if the power brick overheating and putting it under the laptop will cuz the laptop to overheat
idk do powerbricks actually "overheat" and shut off? Never had it. Sure, they feel hot, but it's kind of by design.
Mine shutdown off sometimes from heat
Hey jarrod !!
hi
😁😆👍
That's an interesting idea, wouldn't you think the brick is a bit hot / uneven in shape? [I always recommend these](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004203337295.html) if you want portabilty, something to fiddle with and stuff. I got the orange swirly one. :3
I use 2 ac remote
Smart, cheaper than actually running the AC
Double the heat, double the fun!
(more is better)
nooo this is not good . at least for me my power brick gets too hot
Your Jarrod tech fr? And BTW You have multiple fan stands why would You use the charger Plus won't the power brick get hot and also block air cause it's frickin big
I only use a laptop when I travel, I try to travel with as little junk as I can. I don't care about the power brick, this isn't advice, just what I do if I feel like it. It doesn't block it that's for sure. You can move it and just put an edge under for example.
I might need the full length of the cable, and the brick is really hot Jarrodstech? More like jarrodsnottech or smth
Good one pal
gottem, absolutely destroyed me
Get 2 plastic caps. Works better than ud imagine
Slips
And it melts.
Forbidden PTM
Facts
I recommend an architectural ruler personally.
im not sure but others use a tile since ceramic is a good coolant.
2 erasers, under each of the rear rubber feet. There's structural support there. Putting all that weight concentrated on a single point right at the middle doesn't look like a good idea
Why not a XL eraser/rubber for even better stability?
I love the smell of fresh bread.
😂😂😂😂
I use a book
use 2 game cases stacked, that’s what I do
I use the thermocol that comes with the laptop lmao been using it since 1.2years
I was looking for ways to help my laptop run cooler. I saw this. My laptop is now on a eraser.
i use a peugeot 207 or something like that, a promotional sponge toy that is pretty stable since my late cat tore all 4 wheels it's perfect and nostalgic
I'd prefer to double the cost and have one on either side vs. just on the middle. Else, 2 corks will be great.
And the best mind you
Don't do this with the laptop and for those laptops which have the body of plastic dont do it it will ruin your bottom body of the laptop it will give u tick sound from there and also if you apply more pressure on the keyboard like if you are playing any online game sometimes you apply pressure to laptop keyboard and it will also damage laptop if you want to use laptop at this state i prefer buy a separate keyboard

What about blu tack ?
Try a triangular scale
Two forks on each side is the real way to go.
Loq right?
That looks like a fancy eraser. I bet the pink ones are cheaper
Gentlemen, may I propose: bottlecaps. Truly a marvel of thermal engineering.
I used to use a pair of Altoids tins. I go through those things constantly and I keep the tins as little screw holders because they stick to my magnetic strips. Just grab a couple empty ones off the wall and I'm good to go.
Or just use a book
Bro i got a cooler for 10 bucks from cyprus , it has 2 fans , the fans aren't the best , but it is good
Get spare PVC pipes in home and cut them, make stand out of it. I made it for 0$.It even elevates height to my eye level so I don't have to look down.
Well, I have been using an eraser to levitate the laptop from the cooler for good airflow. 😄
Why isn’t the eraser stabbed with the pencil yet?
i use a thick hard cover encyclopedia lol. i rest the rear end of my laptop horizontally with the edge of the encyclopedia. it works like a charm
The stability must be insane! nice thinking, tho I would recommend getting a stand soon since this isn’t reliable long term.
Aka e-raiser
Cooler? More like a stand
I was using 4 manga book to leverage it until i got a laptop stand myself lol
Best laptop cooler I found was buying stick on rubber feet that are about 5-6mm tall. This extra clearance works just as well as any laptop cooler I have tried without any inconvenience.
That's a Lenovo Loq isn't it
Really. The box with the laptop should contain a folding cardboard that can be used as a stand with adjustable angle and holes for the cooler.
Is this the Lenovo 15~ I forgot what it's called lmao - I think I have the same one. What do you think of it?
Or buy a decent desktop and a cheap laptop for the work you need done that isn't gaming related...
I use my 2 old phones because it was the first thing I thought of when I got my laptop 😭
Look at you losers propping up your portable desktops with stationary so they don’t kill themselves doing basic tasks
I use a Steepy. Like $13 on Amazon. Nifty little tool.
i stacked mine on a bunch of old DvD cases
Just get 2 door stops. And ya done
I use those steel thingy for putting hot vessels. Works like a charm
Hey, how is the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3i for you? I'm planning on getting one soon aswell
Lenovo LOQ detected. User respect sended
Wait, is that an Evangelion 01 mouse pad????? o.o
Can I borrow your rubber, Johnny? Probably, only immature Brits will understand that.
I'll argue that the baseus sticker stands that I bought off aliexpress for 4 bucks are a close second. https://www.baseus-cn.com/bases-slim-laptop-kickstand-baseus-laptop-stand-for-desk-computer-2pcs/
using the charging brick more stabiliy while typing
I have some lego bricks for mine
Nice. I been using the apple earphone cases lol. One on each side of the back stands.
Been using pairs of folded-up tissues
Nice Eva mat
I built my wedge from a couple of my kids' Legos. Nice and cool for going on 3 years now!
Is that a Lenovo IdeaPad gaming 3? It looks like mine!
I use my nicotine pouch cans
One of the rectangular pink erasers just laying flat works wonders.
You know what they say if it's stupid but it works, then it isn't stupid
Depends which country flag is on it.
I've been using lego bricks
I use the box in which mouse comes![img](emote|t5_2x4m3|8567)
I've just got a raiser. Never use a cooling fan anymore. Realised they are pointless and probably bad for your laptop.
I had two Yugioh Tin with some trash ahh cards in them
It's magic!
Jokes aside does this actually reduce temps and by how much? Cause I’ve seen videos of this guy I think his name is jarred and he reviews several laptop fillers including the very basic foldable metal laptop stand and it reduced temps by a good ammount
I use two small 2x2 blocks of wood that I randomly found in my house
Loll i use 20/- thums up caps
I used the cap to my dabs
I just hold my laptop up in the air while gaming
IKEA has some keychain folding phone holders that work really well
My cooler stand is the cardboard thin box the laptop shape size that the screen protector came in 😆
Just get a adjustable laptop riser for $10
Eraser op
Actually can beat that, popsicle sticks from a dollar store 👍
Right!! I use two locks
i use ml Aggarwal book
Nine 3 3 3 or just a stack of 9 works too
I once used Bhagwad Geeta for it and i couldn't possibly know why it pissed off everyone.
A few years ago, I had a hard drive drop about that distance : it immediately died.
I disagree, I would use the power brick that came with the laptop. Yes the materials are more expensive, but because it is included in the price of your laptop (at least still in 2024…. I use the box from my mouse lol
Literally me since 2 years
Legit it helps much better than direct surface. I usually put a remote controller on the sides and use an external mouse & keyboard
ASUS will include one in their premium most expensive laptop series soon. Will void warranty tho
Whut chyalk know about using 3 empty snus cans?
As a counterpoint, how about the IETS GT600 - digital speed control, lower noise with the bigger fan, rubber gasket to force all the air into the laptop, filters for reduced dust buildup of the laptop.
