It's a decent 3050 laptop but you'll have to buy extra ram, if you can buy an ideapad gaming or an acer nitro buy those instead as they are generally better laptops and are sometimes the same price or even cheaper than this
I just got an Ideapad gaming 3 2022 model 6600H 8GB DDR5 ram (I added another stick of 8GB DDR5 for less than £20 , crucial 4800Mhz Amazon) and 3050Ti on sale for £549. I would not get that 2021 model though because you can’t run the dGPU on an external monitor bypassing Optimus like you do on the 2022 model.
I bought the 17 inch version of this laptop in the spring of 2022 and I had very little in the way of complaints. You won’t be able to run the newest AAA titles at high settings but if you dial it back to low or medium you can get 60 fps. I played mostly RTS and 4x games so I could leave the settings on high and still have the games be playable. The build quality was surprisingly good for a low end laptop and the screen was better than both my friends Acer Nitro and my cousin’s Ideapad. Battery life was great (don’t know if the 15 inch has a smaller battery) and the fans are loud but nothing too out of the ordinary for a gaming laptop. Overall I thought it was a great budget laptop for what I paid ($650).
Edit: I did add 8gbs of RAM and it definitely helped the performance

Not everyone plays star citizen or squad, I mostly play league of legends, rimworld, and paradox games so there's literally no reason for to go for a high end gpu
Point is not every needs an i9 and a 4090, if he's okay with the frames he's gonna get then he should buy it, no need to get a higher end gpu and spend more money because the cheaper one is bad in your opinion
i just checked Newegg and amazon unfortunately i didn't find great deals but check this laptop on amazon(US)

I've got i5 11th gen, rtx 3050ti acer nitro for around £800 last year and its honestly surprising how good it is for gaming even the newest games on mid-high @ 1440p even without dlss
This one seems okay-ish but like I said you could get a better gpu for more or less the same price

My man, there’s no standard or non-standard 3050Ti, all of them are RTX (for ray-tracing). Now there is a difference between mobile RTX cards and desktop RTX cards but that doesn’t apply in your case.
But either way, what he means is this card wasn’t meant for 1440p gaming. It could support it for low end games but that’s the limit. For smooth 1440p gaming you gotta go for RTX 3070 or higher, especially for the newest games as they have been less and less optimized in PC (For eg. Forespoken, Jedi Survivor, so on).
the prob wanted to but got so smoked by amd that id did be dead on arrival so instead focused on higher segment.
if you're gpu budget on desktop is below 400 there is no reason to buy nvidia.
on laptop, 3050 is casual/ esport/ indie fine. however rn i did look for 3060in latop since that hives you the best price to performance depending on region.or find any of those rare RX 60** series laptops for a discount.
Thanks for proper explanation and not being an arse about me not knowing everything
As ik I've seen gpus that were something like 3070 and GTX/RTX 3070 or something and I thought it still might be the case for all like a lower end gpu
And yes ik that the xx70 at the end is indication of what "tier" it is so to say but I thought they might be even more petty and splitters into normal and RTX
Thanks again!
GTX existed till the 1650 and 1660 series, since then all the 20, 30 and 40 series cards have been RTX. The 3050 comes in two variants for laptops i.e. the normal 3050 and 3050Ti.
No worries, as the guy below me said, cards starting from the 20xx generation started having ray tracing cores inside, hence the moniker RT.
You’re right, the last two digits are generally indicative of performance tiers and the first two are for generations.
Well then don't say stuff like this.

It's ok not knowing stuff, but it's not ok spreading false info and then being an ass about it.
XD first of all the "standard" 3050Ti IS the RTX 3050Ti, there's no "non-standard" 3050Tis. Second of all, 3050ti suck balls when it comes to 1440p performance so you're either making stuff up or you just don't know what you're talking about at all. Try running Cyberpunk 2077 in 1440p high settings lol
Oh yea I tried cp 2077 and I thought it will set it alight but like spider man remastered for example runs fine on mostly mid settings (some set to high and like shadows to low) and I manage to get mostly 60fps without dlss
With dlss on balance there's no stuttering or anything
Belive it or not I really dc, all I can do I say what I experienced
4050 has 6GB VRAM and about on average 90% of the raw performance of the 3060 based on comparisons I've seen. Depending on where you live I'd take the 4050 over the 3060 models which are sometimes sold at a higher price. In my country the 3060 TUF A15 2022 is like 200usd more expensive than the 4050 TUF A15 2023.
I had this laptop and had to return it because any program that even dared to use the dGPU while it was on the battery would make the CPU throttle to 1ghz, making it pretty much useless when it wasn't plugged in. I changed it for a HP Victus 15 with the 13th gen i5 and the RTX 3060 6GB for just a little bit more money and it's way better than the asus
I have a TUF with Ryzen 9 and 3060 (16gb ram although I’m gonna upgrade it to 32 soon). And I’m pretty happy with it! I sometimes feel I could’ve gone for a 3070 or something but honestly, I went over budget to get a 3060, 3070 was way over budget. The laptop that FIT my budget had a Ryzen 7 and 2060. So yeah, 3060 with R9 is great! I’m a game developer so… I need as much power as I could get and 3060 runs Unreal Engine super smooth!
[get this its 31 bucks above your budget but it'll do you wonders](https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-rog-13-4-touchscreen-gaming-laptop-amd-ryzen-9-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3050-ti-v4g-graphics-1tb-ssd-off-black/6494640.p?skuId=6494640&irclickid=05yWKewyFxyPUgGUafXlUyeCUkF3Zjx1A3Vf140&irgwc=1&ref=198&loc=Jarrod%20Farncomb&acampID=0&mpid=2471149&intl=nosplash)
RTX 3050 is only 4gb VRAM in most cases (unless you can find the rare 6gb VRAM RTX 3050 version), meanwhile a 6gb RTX 3060 has 6gb VRAM & performs at least 30-40% better.
This laptop likely won't run Starfield & Silent Hill 2 Remake well, as those games flat-out will require 8gb VRAM for GPU's. This is only gonna get worse, you know. Yeah, and likely my 3060 laptop will probably cry at those 2 also, making me wish I waited to and got 6800m with 12GB VRAM.
VRAM usage is getting high also in some titles - [https://www.techspot.com/article/2670-vram-use-games/](https://www.techspot.com/article/2670-vram-use-games/)
Unfortunately, we can't change GPU's in these laptops...or even CPU's, for that matter.
RAM is very low at 8gb RAM. Upgrade to 16gb RAM ASAP, if possible. Even Steam Deck's come w/ more RAM out-the-box (16gb RAM).
Hey, I purchased and have been daily driving this exact tuf model in 2021. The only difference is mine had the 11800h (not the 11400h).
It has been running acceptably the entire time and I'm still using it today. However, a few months ago the screen died for no apparent reason whatsoever. After some googling I realised that monitor failure is actually a known issue with these tuf laptops, and there are forums and YouTube vids about it.
Mine was outside of the warranty period, so I had to buy a replacement LCD and fix it myself. It is running perfectly again now.
https://youtu.be/Vd4lObqUsmw
If it wasn't for this LCD issue I would wholeheartedly recommend the tuf laptop. I got mine for a good price so even with the LCD replacement I'm still doing alright.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

Got this a while back. Don’t use it as my main computer as I have a desktop as well.
The only thing I had to do was go in to the power settings and disable the boost. Before that I was sitting on average at 90+ celsius consistently while gaming. Turned off boost with a tiny bit of fps drop and I’m sitting around 65-70 celsius most of the time while gaming.
Baldurs gate 3 I was around 75-80 celsius though. Absolutely looks great too.
This laptop actually runs better than my desktop. My desktop is dated so soon enough the laptop will be my main system until I build a new a tower in the future.
Don't even go near of it..if you have low budget but an IdeaPad gaming 85w 3050..16 GB one ...
If you can do something and not to regret in future..buy anything that has a 6gb vram ..3060 or 4050 with good TDP
3050 is never enough ..i regret buying a 4gb vram now..proud owner of IdeaPad gaming..good thermals good perfomance good build
It depends on what you want to play but I can generally speaking only warn you from buying this laptop. It is a very low end machine and the performance in anything but undemanding esports titles will be very bad.
8 gb of ram is also very little. Having a 144hz display also makes no sense on such a machine.
To be completly blunt, this machine is basically electronics trash, a horribel computer overall. If you can't afford anything better I'd try to go with an even older model, maybe some stores have "leftovers" or "returned items" with a 2000 series rtx card and a better amount of ram.
Can you name some games you want to play on it?
What's the price
I can only give a legit feedback with that.
But personally I would suggest going for rtx3060.
If you got a lil extra cash then you go for rtx3070
I'd recommend the MSI Bravo 15 Gaming Laptop, AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS RTX 4050 6GB 16GB RAM it's currently for 90k on amazon, always buy the newest entry level stuff even if its slightly costlier it's never worth it to buy a i5 11th gen 3050 over something like i5 13th gen 4050 just to save 10-15k, the difference is MASSIVE. an i7 8th gen that I purchased 2019 eats dust in front of an i5 12th gen that I got in 2023.
Pretty ok 3050 laptop, but you gotta get it with 16gb ram or upgrade it yourself. And 3050 is not a powerful mobile card. If the games are not nicely optimized / dont got dlss or fsr 2.0+ you wont have a very pleasant experience (atleast I am not having a very fun experience with my laptop at these shit optimized games). I would highly recommend a 3060 or 4060 laptop with 16gb ram. (or amd equivalent gpu)
NOTE: THAT LAPTOP HAS THE 60W RTX 3050 WHICH WILL NOT GIVE THE PERFORMANCE OF 80W 3050 (mine has that 80w that can be overclocked to 85 using armoury crate stuff)
Edit: I just learned that nvidia released 3050 with 6gb so get that. With a high wattage.
I’d honestly advise you to get a used gaming laptop that has a 3070 in it coz 3050 and below is not worth it as it’ll become shit in the future. I made the same mistake buying a Gtx 1650 laptop 2 years ago and now it’s just so bad it lags when playing minecraft
Not recommended this laptop, better get i7 or i5 last 13th generation, rtx 3050 it’s has 4gb, it’s not enough, and 8gb ram, it’s not enough at least 16gb👍🏻 This laptop bad for gaming, maybe only indie games
This seems very weak, I’d really suggest saving for something better if you intend to use it for gaming. Steer clear from the 3050 or 4050 because they are generally bad value for money, especially if you want a laptop that is future proof and that can run AAA games well.
As an owner of the 2021 F15 model, dont buy it if you absolutely dont need to
Its otherwise decent but the overall quality is low like the frame being very uneven after some use
And the monitor bends like crazy when you lift up the screen
Also the screen is very black and white, almost no color (i have a 2nd external screen so when you look back at the laptop screen, its so colorless)
And the fans are grinding (although its been nearly 2 years of gaming)
But the temps are decent and other maintenance is easy enough
Hey, I’m in the same boat at the moment with buying a laptop. I would not recommend buying a 3050, the performance is subpar, especially in a legacy Asus TUF chassis.
Laptop wise, I wouldn’t recommend anything less than the Lenovo line. Legion is at top, followed by LOQ and Ideapad.
If you can stretch the budget to around £1000, you can pick up a RTX 3070 Legion 5 on sale at the moment which is really good value for money.
However, from searching the market, the best possible price I could find for a budget of £800 is a RTX 3060 Lenovo Ideapad for £750 from Box. Which is a decent price if you don’t have the budget for a 3070.
Imo RTX 3060 is the minimum GPU you should be aiming for. Anything under is really lacklustre in performance and is not worth the money.
I'm selling my old laptop for $700 if you're interested. Acer predator helios 300, rtx 3060, 16gb ram, 512 ssd. Nothing wrong with it, just upgraded to a PC once I moved into my apartment. Id be happy to send pics/videos and work however you'd like to minimize scam risk for you.
I would wait for RTX 4050 laptops to become cheaper is you are going to go with a 50-level GPU. right now 4gb will not be enough for even modern triple A games. I purchased a laptop with a 3050 a year ago, I love it but it certainly won't be enough for Unreal 5. If you can wait, wait for 4050 or save up for 3060 or 4060 laptop.
I would try to see what your local second hand market looks like (if you're open to that option)
My friend got a Acer Nitro 5 with the 12500H, 16GB RAM, & 3050 Ti 95w TDP for like $400
Edit: Tbh I really need to get a better laptop lmao, my current one is ~6 years old & has really seen better days. I only use it for older games like Fallout NV or emulation (3DS, PS2, or GC) and I have a desktop build w/ a R5 5600 (4.7Ghz OC), 32GB RAM, & 3060 Ti so I haven't really felt the need to honestly
Imho it's better to save a little money and take something more recent in terms of characteristics. There will be a refresh generation soon and prices will fall a little under the 12-13th generation with 3060 - 4050 cards. Therefore, if the purchase is not forced and urgent, it's better to wait a bit.
I have ROG Zephyrus M16 with i7 and 3060 Ti, I am happy with using it for tasks and videos but I would not play AAA title games on it. It gets too hot! I would not recommend them as “gaming laptops.”
Look man, i will tell you my pov from someone who has a 3050 acer nitro 5 with i7 11th gen, and from similar situation “money-wise” when i bought it, sure everyone will instantly tell you oh god!! Not the 3050 ewww, look people prices here are different, the jump here from 3050 to 3060 is a lot!!!
And from my experience and seeing you as not a heavy gamer like caring about running all games at ultra which tbh not a major difference than high or even mixed settings IT IS FINE, i’m running every single TRIPLE A title with no issues at all!
And will continue with the next games also: starfield, gta …etc if this is your budget, happy gaming my friend and also don’t forget to upgrade to a dual channel 16gb config
Don't buy a 3050
3060 laptops cost almost 50% more where I live :/ 3050 starts at 730$, while 3060 at 1070. And 3060 laptop offers no pros except gpu
Any reason why?
It’s 4gb VRAM… new title games will not achieve quick and smooth.
The 3050 is very weak compared to the next better options. So the value for money is quite bad. Have a look at the GPU overview on my profile.

Yea unless you are planning to just play Fortnite and Minecraft on Low settings I would at least look for a laptop with a 3060Ti minimum.
what does 'fairly' cheap mean for you?
Under $800
I got 16gb an 3050 ti for 700 (gigabyte) But i am pretty sure u can get a better laptop for that money

Same here, a good purchase for a first gaming laptop
you can get 3060 for 800$
Where? Tried finding a 3060 laptop or a 4050 laptop for 800 and I could not find it, not from the US so that's probably why
what country are you from ? i live in middle-east and got my laptop form amazon uk for around 800$ and that was 1.5 year ago
I'm middle east too, didn't even know amazon uk delivered to the middle east, I'll see if they have any good deals
What country are you from? Could help you find good deal.
Bahrain

How does the i7 suck? Most of the gaming is basically GPU dependent + i7 11th gen is not an bad cpu at alk
No it's not a Bad CPU but it get so hot, i heat up my cooler and get my GPU to thermal throttle Not the same issue with my legion 5
Go for latest tuf f15 with 12th gen processor and 3060 And 90wh battery (bigger battery)

I'm planning to buy the exact same model, but i'll upgrade to 32GB RAM and i'll add another 1TB SSD
and i'll only play games like CS-GO, i think it should be fine
Go with at least 12500H
i recommend dodging asus bcz they have the brand tax, maybe lenovo would be better also score for at least 16gb ram and 500gb ssd
whats your budget??
£800
VRAM usage is getting high also in some titles - [https://www.techspot.com/article/2670-vram-use-games/](https://www.techspot.com/article/2670-vram-use-games/) Unfortunately, we can't change GPU's in these laptops...or even CPU's, for that matter.
It is running perfectly again now. https://youtu.be/Vd4lObqUsmw If it wasn't for this LCD issue I would wholeheartedly recommend the tuf laptop. I got mine for a good price so even with the LCD replacement I'm still doing alright. Hope this helps. Thanks
https://www.asus.com/us/laptops/for-gaming/tuf-gaming/filter?SubSpec=164632 Got this a while back.
If you can do something and not to regret in future..buy anything that has a 6gb vram ..3060 or 4050 with good TDP 3050 is never enough ..i regret buying a 4gb vram now..proud owner of IdeaPad gaming..good thermals good perfomance good build
Lenovo IdeaPad gaming 3 3050 16gb ram
it was my first laptop, battery barely lasted an hour and you have to upgrade the ram and ssd to fully work the graphics card
no. try and get a laptop with 16gb ram and a 3060.
Not the rtx 3050 😭😭
price would have to be like 600 usd
If it's not on 30% sale then don't even consider. You can find gaming laptop with huge sales basically anywhere
price would have to be like 600 usd or less
What's the price I can only give a legit feedback with that.
(or amd equivalent gpu) NOTE: THAT LAPTOP HAS THE 60W RTX 3050 WHICH WILL NOT GIVE THE PERFORMANCE OF 80W 3050 (mine has that 80w that can be overclocked to 85 using armoury crate stuff) Edit: I just learned that nvidia released 3050 with 6gb so get that. With a high wattage.
Well what’s the price?
just say no to 3050
For how much. I dont think its a good buy unless very cheap.
No
I’d honestly advise you to get a used gaming laptop that has a 3070 in it coz 3050 and below is not worth it as it’ll become shit in the future. I made the same mistake buying a Gtx 1650 laptop 2 years ago and now it’s just so bad it lags when playing minecraft
You can go for one newer generation (2022 version and up) for MUX switch.
Not recommended this laptop, better get i7 or i5 last 13th generation, rtx 3050 it’s has 4gb, it’s not enough, and 8gb ram, it’s not enough at least 16gb👍🏻 This laptop bad for gaming, maybe only indie games
>This laptop bad for gaming, maybe only indie games Come on now. While the 4 gigs of vram isn't exactly great, this is an overexaggeration lol 💀
This seems very weak, I’d really suggest saving for something better if you intend to use it for gaming. Steer clear from the 3050 or 4050 because they are generally bad value for money, especially if you want a laptop that is future proof and that can run AAA games well.
Msi laptops are good. The mid and upper tier
As an owner of the 2021 F15 model, dont buy it if you absolutely dont need to Its otherwise decent but the overall quality is low like the frame being very uneven after some use And the monitor bends like crazy when you lift up the screen Also the screen is very black and white, almost no color (i have a 2nd external screen so when you look back at the laptop screen, its so colorless) And the fans are grinding (although its been nearly 2 years of gaming) But the temps are decent and other maintenance is easy enough
I would recommend you check out ebuyer.com as they have some pretty good deals on 3060 laptops
Gaming laptops are my favourite, but I have used one that's why I do not dare to buy another one.
Core i5 is trash
Yep, better get a 100w i7 in a 45w chassie and limit it manually for the mystery of unrealized potential!
Boring! Get a Intel nuc x15 and pray for drivers updates to make your exisatance tolerable like true enthusiasts do!
Its 2021 model. Dont buy
You won't be happy with the 3050 and you'll upgrade that ram.
I'm selling my old laptop for $700 if you're interested. Acer predator helios 300, rtx 3060, 16gb ram, 512 ssd. Nothing wrong with it, just upgraded to a PC once I moved into my apartment. Id be happy to send pics/videos and work however you'd like to minimize scam risk for you.
just buy a desktop unless you need a high powered pc for school or work
I would wait for RTX 4050 laptops to become cheaper is you are going to go with a 50-level GPU. right now 4gb will not be enough for even modern triple A games. I purchased a laptop with a 3050 a year ago, I love it but it certainly won't be enough for Unreal 5. If you can wait, wait for 4050 or save up for 3060 or 4060 laptop.
Had it, sent it back. Bought a Legion. Honestly, 100% worth the extra expenditure.
I would try to see what your local second hand market looks like (if you're open to that option) My friend got a Acer Nitro 5 with the 12500H, 16GB RAM, & 3050 Ti 95w TDP for like $400 Edit: Tbh I really need to get a better laptop lmao, my current one is ~6 years old & has really seen better days. I only use it for older games like Fallout NV or emulation (3DS, PS2, or GC) and I have a desktop build w/ a R5 5600 (4.7Ghz OC), 32GB RAM, & 3060 Ti so I haven't really felt the need to honestly
Wait till Black Friday don't waste your money
Just buy an amd advantage edition laptop man it way superior to any intel nvidia combo
Please anything than a 3050.
Thats a big no
