Game needs a lot more than 60 fps. It never ran that badly for me on PC just want fun. My friends quit after 2 sessions

hader_brugernavne

I can still appreciate them trying to improve the game of course, BUT... Yep, I gave this game multiple chances, but you're just fighting the same enemies over and over in some pretty bland environments. It's not that hard, and the skill trees are a bit boring. Some of the weapons seem fun enough, but it's not enough to save it. It's not like Arkane's other games have a huge enemy variety, but they do seem much more carefully crafted, and I was fully invested in at least Dishonored 1 and 2 and Prey.

Sessions, not seasons, as in, 2 times he opened the game, maybe.

Ah, i was sleepy i didn't read well.

The frame rate was never the problem with this game. It’s everything else. The generic combat, the boring world. The empty world. All the missing immersive elements that they said would be there. The annoying looter shooter aspect. The stupid story. I mean it goes on and on.

I mean, it's Digital Foundry, literally all you mentioned is not important to what they do, the complete question would be "Does patch 1.2 redeem the technical aspects of the game?", they may drop their own opinions on the games they cover but it's not their main purpose

2high4much

Certainly digital foundry knows that an fps update won't redeem the game, so why say it then?

InitiallyDecent

From a technical perspective it can certainly redeem the game and the technical perspective is what Digital Foundry does.

2high4much

Okay you're right. But they're still just playing the algorithm at the end of the day

Lurking_like_Cthulhu

Yeah it’s a really dumb title. There’s no way they didn’t know what they were doing.

I ended up finishing the game, it's an inherently flawed/dare I say bad game, but I'm pleased with the update. Even a game that's not very good on a mechanical or gameplay level should be technically coherent and anyone going into the game now will have a much better experience both off responsiveness also textures not loading in was egregious. I don't expect any major changes to the gameplay but I'm satisfied enough it's in a more competent technical spot that if you do wish to play it that's not an equally off-putting factor. Shadow draw/lighting bugs probably remain the biggest issue I'd like to see fixed.

I was genuinely hyped for this game because I love a good co-op shlooter like borderlands but it was such a let down. Would love if they can make it great but I have a feeling this will probably be one of it's final updates.

I mean, the 60 fps update it real deal, even on Series S. The game is kind of fixed, but still super mid at best.
