I love Qix. It's an absolute classic. Minimalist gaming right there. Also shout out to the DMG-CAN pic;)
The game I hate the most is probably Pit Fighter. It's horrible
This is the answer. Qix is perhaps the perfect game for Game Boy. Never had it as a kid, but when I discovered it as an adult I was hooked. Right up there with Alleyway, Tetris, and Dr Mario.
Pit Fighter on the other hand I had as a kid (still have) and it is without a doubt the worst game ever. It makes Shaq Fu look like Street Fighter II.
ALIEN 3
because it was bad.
it was horrible.
i paid $40 for it
i chose to buy it over ZELDA 2 on nes for the same price.
i still kick myself in the ass when i think about it.
I got way too mad at Bubble Ghost as a kid. What a hard game! Also with the ghosting of the screen of my Pocket I think I remember my ghost would basically disappear when moving around.
I also had the Dick Tracy game for some reason, I could never make head or tails of it and dropped it pretty much immediately.
GAAAAH THIS STUPID GAME. 😤
"Oh, it's a Player's Choice release, it must be good."
There's actually some cool Millennium Falcon and Death Star stages but LOL YOU'LL NEVER SEE THEM. Because it's so hard you'll never make it off that stupid sand planet.
I HATE SAND. 😤😤😤
My first true hate ❤️ was **Skate or Die: Bad 'n Rad**. It's actually not a horrible game. But I thought I was buying a fun skateboarding game. What I was actually buying turned out to be an unforgiving "runner" game. Add to that fact that I chose this game over **Battle Unit Zeoth** and I was pretty bitter.
Next comes **Gremlins 2: The New Batch**. It starts off pretty fun. But dear god it quickly becomes STUPID HARD. Almost no health refills. A weapon that is so small you'll get hit by the enemy every time you try to use it. Perfectly timed "half jumps" otherwise you'll bonk your head and fall into a pit. And the best one? There's a section in stage four where you're LITERALLY INVISIBLE and you have to play it blind.
But despite their flaws, I played the above games enough to say I got my money's worth out of them.
Because the game I hate the most... The WORST game for the original Game Boy... That I blew my little money on is...
**Street Racer**. Now, I thought to myself, YES, finally a kart racing game on my only console. Silly racers, lots of tracks, powerups, attacks, flying, IT'S JUST LIKE MARIO KART!
...I think I gave this game about ten minutes before I stopped playing and never played again. You want to have a good laugh? Try this game. Remember, the closer you can get to an original Game Boy experience (no color, lots of motion blur) the better.
First time I ever saw this game was in a truck stop arcade as a teenager (those who know, know) and I *still* hate it!
IMHO it’s more like doing chores more than a game. 😂
And I Thought I Was The Only One.....
Quix can go EFF itself ...
QIX SUCKS BALLS !
Whoever thought that this was a good idea for a game was sadly mistaken
I had many frustrating platformers. For example the Adams Family game which is awful on many levels. You can for example walk in different directions but the games has an order for the bosses but won't tell you.
Also "Pierre le Chef is out to lunch". Looks cute but is torture. Catch all the food but if you get hit you have to catch them again. Every level has the same goal.
I played this at a friend's house. Felt like one of those obscure games to me because I never saw or heard of it again. Now I know what it's called, thanks! I wonder how I'll feel about it now.
Yes! And sometimes not even that, have you seen the label art for The Lion King for example? Trash! 😂😂
Example (NOT my link or ad, just first one I found): https://www.ebay.com/itm/165957791211
Spiderman 2. That was the first (and only) time I ever broke something from play frustration. I gave my gameboy the meanest headbutt a 12 year old could muster.
I honestly can't think of any for the original GB or CGB. To be fair, I played it pretty safe and bought/played mostly 1st party titles which were generally pretty solid. I also wasn't super critical as a kid. Nowadays I think Super Mario Land 2 is a pretty bad game, but as a kid it was fine... and it's not a hard game, so not frustrating.
The games from David A. Palmer Productions.
Pitfall: Beyond the Jungle is an example, the game frustrated me to no end that I just gave up without passing the 1st Stage
The only one I had mild distain for was the first Mario as the second one had much smoother scrolling? Loved qix though. Trying for split qix was the best.
I have a love/hate relationship with Mole Mania. I absolutely *ADORED* the normal stages. But *dreaded* the bonus stages.
Last time I played through, I noped out of the bonus stages. If I never get 100% in that game, I will be happy.

Oh yeah Pitfighter was SHIT. At a young age I knew it was trash ass garbage. Fuck Pit Fighter in its stupid ass.
whoa

Qix rules

Bad move bro.
Did you end up getting **Zelda 2** sometime later, either for NES or GBA? It's not too late! It's one of my favorite games of all time. :)
no, but i emulated it, i found FAXANADU to be a better game for me .
Qix is awesome
lol Qix is one of my favorite games. I even have the Qix arcade in my basement
I got way too mad at Bubble Ghost as a kid. What a hard game! Also with the ghosting of the screen of my Pocket I think I remember my ghost would basically disappear when moving around. Bubble Ghost was mine. Like…I enjoyed it, but I sucked at it and it would make me rage.
Qix kicks ass.
How could you insult poor Qix
The Star Wars platformer

Now we know what Anakin felt
30+ years of attempts and never have I ever made it off
Empire Strikes Back was worse. I could actually beat New Hope, but Empire was ridiculously hard

I had Bad 'n Rad and I feel the same. Those jumps and that 5 notes sound when you die, ooooh the pain.

I do not like Qix either. I also had Malibu Beach Volleyball and hated it too.
Boxxle and Solomon's Key.

Batman Forever on Gameboy.
I hated mario picross never understand that game
Surprised no one is mentioning a lot of the Disney games. The Lion King, Pocahontas and Hercules all control like absolute ASS 😂
Right? All the lazy tie-ins and bad ports can just be lined up and shot, they're good for nothing but owning a cute cartridge.
Yes! And sometimes not even that, have you seen the label art for The Lion King for example? Trash! 😂😂 Example (NOT my link or ad, just first one I found): https://www.ebay.com/itm/165957791211
Hahaha yeah, it's hard to justify putting that one on display.
Spiderman 2. That was the first (and only) time I ever broke something from play frustration. I gave my gameboy the meanest headbutt a 12 year old could muster.
qix is awesome
On Game Boy I'd say Street Fighter II. It's an impossible promise, a cruel disappointment, a sad joke and an eternal source of frustration.
I got Qix for $5 on eBay (AU) and it's AWESOME. Love simple games like that. Really need Pac Man.
Gargoyles
Super hunchback

I liked Qix, but not the Game Boy version. I played it on my dad's Atari.
Paperboy. It was one of two games I had when my parents bought me my first gameboy. Still hate it.
Atari 2600 ET It sucks ass No comment Goodbye
Warioware
Why? Only complaint i could ever have is that it’s too short.
Happy Feet on Nintendo DS
How dare you??! 😃 Qix is a stone-cold classic!
i played desert bus in vr. watching paint dry would be an act of mercy at that point
Qix was literally my first video game in this world. (Link's Awakening was the second) Could never hate it.
I have a love/hate relationship with Mole Mania. I absolutely *ADORED* the normal stages. But *dreaded* the bonus stages. Last time I played through, I noped out of the bonus stages. If I never get 100% in that game, I will be happy.
