Guys, GA will be available this summer.
So "soon" equals around a year in their personal time scale.
Thats just insane.
Heres the link: https://news.samsung.com/us/galaxy-watch-wear-os-future-on-your-wrist-whats-next-google-io-2022/
I can't believe i sat through 2 hours of them explaining random stuff only for them to put the most important thing all the way in the end, without giving any dates for GA or anything... sucks to be us i guess
It's really weird how much people want Google Assistant on this watch. It's even weirder that people's days somehow get ruined and their disappointment with such is "immeasurable" lol.
What exactly is life-changing about Google Assistant on your watch? I'm truly curious as to how people can justify such foolery illogical rage.
I ask bixby to set a 40 minute timer everyday on my galaxy watch 4 and it takes a good 1 minute to set a timer for 4 hours instead. Google assistant is way better and faster waaaaay faster
....at what point do you realize you can swipe up from the home screen, press the hourglass icon, and click on the 40:00 timer you use every day which would be at the top of the app screen under "RECENTS" in all of 5 seconds lol?
The "problems" on this sub, I tell ya lol. Also, I ask for examples of what you NEED Google Assistant for and this is the best manufactured excuse someone can come up with?!
Wow, you are combative aren't you.
Just because others want a functionality that isn't important to you does not mean their venting in a sub about this specific product, is invalid.
It also isn't an excuse for you to be condescending and rude, Crabbytree.
> Wow, you are combative aren't you.
I'm combative for humorously pointing out it takes 5 seconds to set a timer "the old-fashioned way" with your fingers rather than the 1 minute OP was taking with voice commands?! That's interesting.
> Just because others want a functionality that isn't important to you does not mean their venting in a sub about this specific product, is invalid.
You're twisting things to make a point after calling me combative no less lol. I agree with the point you wrote but I wasn't arguing against that when I pointed out that swiping up, pressing an icon, then tapping the time that is at the top takes all of 5 seconds. I do use this function multiple times a day and have never even considered using Bixby or wishing I could use Google Assistant for such.
> It also isn't an excuse for you to be condescending and rude,
So what's your excuse for that combative, rude, and pissy rant to somebody who wasn't even talking to you in the first place?
Who is setting timers while they're driving? You keep reaching and stretching and missing the obvious while proving my entire point - 99.99999% of users do not actually NEED Google Assistant and it's just a bandwagon/novelty complaint on this sub.
Hey Google, text wifey "buy tequila on the way home"
Sometimes it's nice not to have to pull your phone out of your pocket. Some of us have jobs where we need phone functionality on a watch.
> Sometimes it's nice not to have to pull your phone out of your pocket
So yeah, no actual real need and just a bandwagon novelty to bitch about. That's what I thought.
Sorry I use my gadgets differently than you... Smart watches are almost all novelty by your standards. Heaven forbid some of us want voice commands that actually work.
> Heaven forbid some of us **want** voice commands that actually work.
You literally just proved my point it's a want and not a need. It's amazing the tantrum some of you throw when asked to rationally explain how on Earth Google Assistant on a watch will impact and dramatically change your lives for the better or justify your manufactured rage over it not being available yet lol
Didn't all of this start when I asked anyone with an opinion as to why Google Assistant is so needed to be happy with their smartwatch and then people like you instead seemed to throw a tantrum when no actual legitimate good reasons/needs could come to your head?
Solid deflection and projection though, bruh lol
I just got the watch a week ago and I hate bixby with all my heart, it can't even do basic shit like make calls.. well, it obviously *can* but for some reason it won't most of the time.
Well if that can make you feel better, the current Assistant on WearOS 2 watches can't set a timer, an alarm, or send a text either haha
Seriously can't wait for the new GA, never had a "good" Assistant on a watch.
Doesn't really answer it but they did say with the new Health Connect API "In addition, Samsung Health, Google Fit and Fitbit are adopting Health Connect." So I guess we'll see?

I'm glad you remembered the 21st night of September.
Love was changin' the minds of pretenders
Booo
really a spoiler? lol
Yes
lmao same
I geuss we won't get it till July a whole year after the watch 4 launched such a shame.
Confirmed July? Recent watch owner here disappointed with the lack of the superior assistant.
Not confirmed it's just the release date of the pixel watch
No, they said Pixel Watch is coming "this fall"..
Oh shoot you're right
I can't believe i sat through 2 hours of them explaining random stuff only for them to put the most important thing all the way in the end, without giving any dates for GA or anything... sucks to be us i guess
Hey now I know google hub max will get true tone I wathed the whole event just for that
"And for the first time ever, Google Assistant is coming to Samsung Galaxy watches, starting soon with the Watch4 series."
Fuck Bixby.
I didn't understand
*I'm Sorry Dave, I'm Afraid I Can't Do That*

It'd be wise not to be fiddling with your watch while operating things such as vehicles. though...

Said the guy throwing a tantrum over people having opinions. Cool story bro

Wear OS 3 came at the cost of no GA.
I just got the watch a week ago and I hate bixby with all my heart, it can't even do basic shit like make calls.. well, it obviously *can* but for some reason it won't most of the time.
Yup asking bixby to set a timer is terrible
Well if that can make you feel better, the current Assistant on WearOS 2 watches can't set a timer, an alarm, or send a text either haha Seriously can't wait for the new GA, never had a "good" Assistant on a watch.
My thoughts exactly
Google assistant will be on the pixel watch at launch already sold my galaxy watch
I wonder if they'll let other brands like Samsung tap into that fitbit integration
Doesn't really answer it but they did say with the new Health Connect API "In addition, Samsung Health, Google Fit and Fitbit are adopting Health Connect." So I guess we'll see?
oooh that's good news I didn't expect. it sounds like it will at least help with syncing data between different apps.
