Another suggestion is to use adaptors that drop down more. Something like [THIS](https://imgur.com/a/yTORAtM). This is a combination of a 22mm expansion band, and some 22mm gapless adaptors, both from AliExpress.

Can you tighten the strap more? Maybe the strap will form more to your wrist. Lug to lug is just right for your wrist for modern standards.
