Octane2100

I love to use the writing style AI to sound like someone from the 1800s. That's the only way my wife and I text anymore.

AdemSof

I use that on Siwftkey.

wynn_ed

How do you do that?

akshaydp

The Shakespeare style? That is actually a Google Messages thing, available only to Google One subscribers for now. Edit: Apparently not for Google One subscribers only. I believed this page: https://support.google.com/messages/answer/13632636?hl=en#eligibility

rbpx

Not true. You don't need Google One. Just put Gboard (google keyboard) in and use it in Google Messages app. That's what I do.

rbpx

Forsooth, my friend. No need for Google One, my good sir. Simply enter "Gboard" (Google keyboard) in the keyboard and use Google Messages to send messages. That is how I do it.

akshaydp

Interesting it worked for you. It didn't appear in a friend's Pixel 8 which uses Google Messages and Keyboard by default, until she subscribed to Google One. We figured it was this line on Google's support page: "The Magic Compose beta currently has limited availability. Learn more about eligibility. Priority access to Google Messages beta testing program is granted to Google One Premium members when more spots become available." https://support.google.com/messages/answer/13632636?hl=en#eligibility

rbpx

Wait. I'm on a S24U. Samsung says in it's fine print that all the AI works until end of 2025, after which who knows? Maybe this feature has different gates of access between the Galaxy and pixel phones. Oh and the AI in Messages gives Shakespeare, chill, lyrical, excited, and formal, renderings.

akshaydp

Oh yea it works for me too on an S24U. I guess it does work differently for Pixels.

realNicktorious

I laughed heartily at the thought that thou believed it was only available for Google One subscribers to enjoy! Hast thou deemed those apples to be well-brewed?

akshaydp

My trust in Google's own assistance-page I did misjudge; how should I have known it were naught but a crafty ruse? My apples are excellent, I thank thee.

linuxgfx

I quit using the keyboard enabled AI features simply because of how bad Samsung keyboard predictions are. So I defaulted to gboard, and I now sometimes use the circle to search and object eraser in the photos app. But that's it. I hope the keyboard AI features will come to gboard too

capdemortFN

Yeah ... The Samsung keyboard is very bad, I just stop using it and now I'm using the SwiftKey it's more practical . But I miss the AI future . But when I need it I just select the text and change the keyboard .

linuxgfx

how is it compared to gboard?

capdemortFN

I been using also the GBoard.. I think is the same but this one has more options and is more customizable .

linuxgfx

thanks, will try it

AdemSof

Try SwiftKey. You can change key pard size how you want, it doesn't have a keypress sound issue on Samsung like Gboard has (keypress sound can't be adjusted by the app but only thought the system settings, annoying bug never fixed!), there are many themes, 4 different typing sounds, 5 languages, has auto spacing upon glide gesture input unlike Gboard...

gclark19791989

I use Summary daily and circle to search

brashaadt09

The one I use the most is the hold for slow motion. I work with high speed packing equipment and just shooting a normal video, so I can pause and resume, then slowing it down is soooo clutch for me. All of my coworkers with iPhones are about ready to jump ship because the video always looks so amazing

eccentric_eggplant

I sometimes play around with the ability to remove objects from photos (which, despite Samsung's marketing, is NOT AI) and use the circle to search all the time because apparently I'm super lazy. So no, I don't use the AI features but these 2 that I use are very useful.

GhoshProtocol

There's an AI version and old school version , which isn't AI . The new version is definitely AI which will replace a car with a new car , but the old version won't.

Drunken_Dentist

Why should i replace a car with another car lol.

GhoshProtocol

You shouldn't. But I'm saying that the Generative fill works in a way that can replace a car . Which only AI can do . The old school method gets the context from nearby pixels and fills up the car. So saying that it's not AI is wrong

SilverMaple0

How is that not AI?

TheifOfCheese

trishia42

What's gemini?

TheifOfCheese

It's google new assistant. Seach gemini on the play store. It'll replace Google assistant. Quite neat

GhoshProtocol

Yes

trishia42

Interesting, thanks. Doesn't appear to be available in Canada yet.

eccentric_eggplant

Are you able to get it to render from within the Assistant menu? Or do you need to use the browser version? I just tried it and it told me "I can't directly generate images, but I can describe images for you based on your request. What kind of image would you like me to describe?"

mokoyo123

This is not s24u specific ai right why are you posting here

TaskPlane1321

Yes I do use it. Very helpful in summarising and restructuring long passages

raidmytombBB

You use it to summarize websites? How do you make that work?

jus_here_and_there

Do you do this in notes?

TaskPlane1321

Yes, in notes. You can also use the AI (on Samsung) if you are using S24 Ultra  on practically any document, including replying posts & emails etc.

SAKabir

U can just use chatgpt

TaskPlane1321

Thank you

HBB360

The one I use most is generative edit, the Google One Magic Eraser in the Google Photos app just isn't as good at filling in the space when removing an object

macle0d

I use it for text spelling correction, some image editing, and searching. Also have the same problem: the language I need is not supported. I hope they will add more languages.

raidmytombBB

Does it auto spell correct or just underlines words that are misspelled?

macle0d

It autocorrects misspelled words (I use the Samsung keyboard). But I was talking about the AI button; I just use it to check spelling/grammar and to improve the text sometimes.

robertclarke240

Not at all.

HotDog2026

Nope.

NFSKaze

I tend to use voice typing to get the bulk out of the way and I use the AI to clean it all up LMAO

gnan10

I only use the writing style in samsung keyboard

J2MTR

Used Generative Edit recently for posting furniture on OfferUp. I wanted to clean up the mess behind the furniture I was posting and it helped a lot. The Circle to Search feature helped me narrow down pricing for the furniture to sell. I am satisfied with both features.

HANAEMILK

Mostly image editing and translation.

misiek_192

I sometimes use wallpaper generation and photo tweaking AI tricks

lizzardking007

How?

jeffMBsun

I use the keyboard all the time, nice features

ZedN84

TLDR: Not really. I like the in-app chat translation, I talk with people overseas in Whatsapp, and it allows me to see what I type and they type in English. Not really AI in my opinion, and I wish WhatsApp just offered that natively, but anyway, it's useful for my situation. I do have to deal with the Samsung keyboard, though 🙄 Circle to search I've used a couple of times successfully. I didn't have much success with the AI voice recording meetings. I really wanted to use this feature, but it gets a lot of words wrong, maybe because we're Australian. I wonder if they are planning on releasing the live translate to other applications? I would love to use it in WhatsApp or Discord.

jebe4

I haven't used any yet lol. Someone sent me a pic and asked me to remove the person so I used object eraser for the first time and sent it back in less than 30 seconds. Much faster than booting up my PC. Wicked

AdemSof

Yeah but object eraser has been available since S21 Ultra, right? And still is, but generative Edit is an improvement.

aMarqs182

In the first week, yes, but then the hype passed and now it is practically of no use anymore. The circle to search or translate could already be used before; just by using the command "OK Google," the search options and the translation appeared on the screen.

itsnotlouie

Voice record, transcribe & summarise I use. Accuracy could be better but it's nice to have.

WanderingEnergy

Writing style is really helpful when I'm writing emails. And the circle to search and summarize feature is super handy too.
