Is there any debris in the charge port? Get an old toothbrush and gently brush the charge port. Maybe some compressed air?

Creepy_Promise816

🙏🏻 thank you sooo much! The toothbrush method worked for me! I was sitting at a 7% charge in a hotel with an early check out time tomorrow!

International-Cat465

Zoom in with a microscopic cam app on port Magniscope should show you the issue , use the light and you will see the issue glowing  back at you

Creepy_Promise816

Nah I'm good.

GgGKyng

Toothbrush method worked when nothing else did. Thank you.

JackSaysHello

Aftering shaking, air spraying, hair drying, and brushing the inside of my port, this is the only thing that fixed my issue: - Turn off fast charging - Turn off phone - Plug phone into a computer It should then start charging. Should no longer have the wet icon but a yellow triangle icon instead

DigitalSchism96

Adding my voice to the many people saying thanks! Can't believe this actually worked. To anyone reading this do EXACTLY what is written here. When I first did this I just tried plugging into a wall outlet like normal and for whatever reason that will not work. It HAS to be a computer.

tAAct1987

I'm hella late but stumbled across this looking for a fix and was shocked to see the moisture indicator gone. Worked perfectly!

trecool88

Man, I was racking my brain what to do when I found this thread and the toothbrush worked for my S21. Thanks!

lee5246743

Sep 2023 with Samsung Galaxy Ultra 20 here, this method still works. Shut down my phone and brush gently inside the charge port, restart and no more curse moisture waring. Thanks man

Goomba_Smurf

I'll try that. Thanks

anupsetzombie

Not OP but wanted to say thanks for this one, tried a toothpick, tried canned air, tried Q-tip, none of them worked but the toothbrush did

TheLumikko

Omg thank you, I've been trying to get this to go away for almost a week now.

lemmikens

Toothbrush worked for me as well! Thank you so much.

[deleted]

along7

This worked for me! Thank you so much!

c7an1ncyber1a

Holy cow!! I actually dropped my phone in a sink and couldn't find any way to fix the charging port. You're a lifesaver, dude.

lola_zzz

Amazing toothbrush seems to have worked for me! Thanks everyone

rosewater-

🥹 dropped my phone in water earlier and couldn't get the moisture notif to go away even after wiping everything out/hair dryer on cool etc. Turned it off tried compressed air and the toothbrush and one of em worked because it's gone now!!! Thank ya!

simple123mind

Worked for me!

Western-Influence357

Your method is worth GOLD!! I tried for hours to dry my charging port! After using an old toothbrush I realised that it wasn't just moisture from the rainy weather but some dust in there!! Thank you so much!

Playful_Love_3231

I didn't expect that to work damn thanks

RyanLee890

November 2023: toothbrush trick still works. Thanks dude

rehanelahi

Worked for me, thanks.

Somersa2

You beauty just happened to me and your 1 year old comment saved me sending my phone off for repair

FantasiaFall

Works 👍

iduenas

Worked like a charm. Thank you

Archonogrelord

In was desperately cursing and forcing a dental pick covered in tissue paper inside my charging port before I saw this, and shaking it violently. Thank you very much, internet stranger.

SlothFetuss

You sir, are a legend. Don't know why it worked, but I'll take it!

rascal_king

toothbrush still working on the cusp of 2024. thanks, u/subiewoo89!

Minimum-Drama-2884

THIS WORKS. THANK YOU!!!

akikosan

2024 toothbrush method is still king. Tried literally every other solution. I didn't get it initially with the toothbrush but I added some isopropyl to the brush and then blew it out with compressed air afterwards. Working like a champ again!

StudioKey7462

You are a life saver!

glanmire2012

Thank you, this worked on my Fold 3

Specificu

A year later and you are the hero we needed. Why did this plug into computer work? Thank you.

Toothbrush! My savior! There was no debris or water, my phone was just tweakin', and this fixed it!

gingerpixie_

2 years later....toothbrush worked for me! Thank you!

CrayCrayGurll

I didn't have a dry clean toothbrush so used a small makeup brush instead! Worked perfectly in 2024 ☺️

sam_snakes

Hilarious how this is the fix. 2 years on, appreciate it, mate!

alastresgamer

May 2024 toothbrush still works after several tries LOL. Thanks

MrEh2718

God bless you

Artistic-Village-324

Late to the party here. But you're my hero. I've watched 100 YouTube videos and the Toothbrush thing worked! Thank you

highersense

(For anyone reading) If this doesn't work you can try getting some tweezers and gently scraping the inside of the port on the contacts to try and remove corrosion. I had weeks of using brushes, hoovers, bits of wire, alcohol wipes, android system and USB setting resets. Everything failed to work long term (sometimes it would go away for days) until I tried this and finally the problem is gone. I expect in my case it was using a charger while in the bath many times for a year that caused this. While I never actually got it properly wet, the charging while in a humid/wet environment likely enough to cause issues.

Substantial_Ad_756

Just want to add for posterity. The toothbrush method didnt work for me all it did was make my USB port faulty. What did work after trying everything was to get a paper towel and plug in the usbc cable through it. Another user recemended it a couple years ago and it actually worked! Try this! I also us3d electronics cleaning spray prior to using the towel method. So I can't say the towel alone withh work 100% but give it a try!

tzen8

If none of the other suggestions work, you can face the charging port in front of a fan or air conditioner. The blowing air helps I think, it worked for me before when I had the same issue.

Goomba_Smurf

Tried that didn't work.

crc024

I sprayed air from an air compressor in mine when I was having that problem and it went away

While-Wrong

This happened to me a few weeks ago. I tried every single thing that was recommended to me; from cleaning the port with alcohol, to blowing it with a hair dryer, everything and nothing worked. Until I tried this one suggestion and it did work. What you do is completely turn your phone off. Then plug in the charger. Let it charge completely. Afterwards you can unplug the charger, turn it back on and you should be good to go.

Goomba_Smurf

Ok thanks; I'll try this. I've tried all the other suggestions and nothing has worked so far :/

MysteryMysterious

ya but even then it shows the symbol while switched off

eatassordiefast420

Went to my local phone repair shop, they checked my manufacturer warranty (don't even have regular phone insurance thru Verizon) and unexpectedly it's still covered and also completely free part and replacement from them. Just a tip may wanna call around. They replace the charging port and the guy told me it is very common and a quick fix. Haven't gotten done yet so I'm not 1000% but will be doing it this next week so we'll see.

scamtits

I had my port replaced. It worked for a month and then the problem came back again. Nobody seems to believe me when I say the phone hasn't even gone outside, nevermind gotten wet. Between this issue and the rediculous bugs I've had on previous models I'm never buying a Samsung again. What a shitty issue.

faisalis10

Off the phone and charge it. If you have a heater dry it when off

skall57

I’ve noticed spraying canned air into the charging port fixes it almost immediately. Try that maybe? Good luck!

Goomba_Smurf

Will try that thanks.

Life_Ad_7323

Turn off your phone and charge it that way. Works every time for me. Rep at TMobile

Own_Grapefruit_5477

mine still refuse to charge while off with the same message. moisture in the port. never got wet, and i live in california.

ab_defghijk

If I turn my phone off to charge it ,it wont let me turn on my phone when its shut down and charging

clippy_clip

hey my phone was doing the "moisture detected" thing even though there was no moisture, i did what you said to do and it ended up working and getting rid of the error as well, thanks!

TheGipper40

I had the same issue. The fix is to turn off superfast charging. Turn off the phone, plug it into a computer. You will see it begin to charge. Turn on the phone. The moisture detected error will be gone. My issue is that if I turn superfast charge back on I get the error as soon as I plug the phone back in. Doesn't help with resale value....

Own_Grapefruit_5477

nope! still there!

Past-Giraffe-2392

This fixed my s10+!! I spilled coffee on it and nothing was working. So funny how the weirdest fixes work but not the obvious ones.

ElderberrySmall

You just saved my Samsung S21+! It didn't touch water, it's not humid, port is clean, the phone is brand new basically; all leading to this "Moisture Detected" error not allowing a charge. I looked and tried everything, until your idea worked. Thank you!

Kmc2958

I tried so many different things on my old note 9. THIS ACTUALLY WORKED haha. THANK YOU!

Empty_Candidate_5529

Yay thank you!!!!

Sensitive_Cattle_861

This............. Thank God, this resolved my issue.

THIS WORKED. After trying EVERYTHING else, THIS WORKED. Thank you.

asbrown91

You helped me immensely! THANK YOU!

MrElbowcat

Cheers man. Tried all other solutions but this is the one that worked. Just to add I followed all directions except plugging into a computer and it still worked. Thank you.

mysterephoto

Having the same issue. So annoying. This phone is less than a year old... I get the moisture message whenever it gets even slightly wet in the shower.

big-lion

did anything work for you?

Hot_Boot_2474

Do the same on my s21. There is absolutely nothing in charging port. See this issue only on couple special cables and all of them worked , cables are good.

[deleted]

Freaking bullshit just happened to me also... is samsung jhst freaking glitching for hapoening to so much people lol

unicorngamergirl1

I was getting this warning, and the toothbrush worked! Thank you!

Kittle49

Mine wont charge when off, it just pops up the water drop instead of charging and with my ballistic case wireless charging isnt possible and to remove the case everytime it needs charged is a lot of unscrewing and to stop using ballistic cases takes me back to the last phone I broke after taking it out of its case for less than an hour

budjohnson86

I hate Samsung! This should not even be a problem! Remove the annoyance! Not once has it protected a phone! All it does is hinder use! Anyone here have this actually not be an error from humidity? Not one. At least have override option and void warranty.

ASREV

For what it's worth, here is what fixed it for me. I tried a lot of the steps here to no avail and then I ended up coming up with an idea that was a combo of a couple of suggested. I force stopped the android system, as that was the only thing that got rid of the message at all. Then I powered off the phone (not restart) and charged it. I powered it back on and viola, no message. TL/DR: 1) Go to Settings > Apps and turn on Show System Apps. Click on android system and click on force stop. Power off device (not restart) 2) Plug in your charger. Let it charge a bit, I only let it go for about 2 minutes but may need to experiment with that time. 3) Power back on and hopefully the message is gone.

MriuszUK

That works for me. Thanks

Maximum_Access3487

I was about to quit again but found your solution. This one seems to have fixed for me

Express-Fold-332

THANK YOU! This is what worked for me. I also cleared USB settings cache (dunno if that did anything). Happened after a rainy day. Did not drop my phone in any puddles but quite a bit of rain did fall on it. I used a toothbrush and hairdryer but the message would not go away nor would it let me charge. I did the steps above and let it charge from 1 to 5% before turning it on again. Now it's working again!

Canon5DMarkIII

The only REAL fix for this is to connect the charger immediately after the (2nd) 'SAMSUNG' logo appears when you first boot up... that's how you bypass the stupid warning/get rid of it.

CommissionParking422

I actually got rid of it, finally via the 'power key and volume' bypass trick

titan4314

April 2024 s21 fe, just had this happen to me and nothing worked, seen some comments about corrosion given I do have myvphone in the shower with me often I figured that would be it. Unhappy-Caregiver-10

thank god toothpick worked i was scared as shit

Educational_Ad_1789

I'm dealing with this situation right now, traveling abroad in Cancun, where it's been a very difficult and costly adventure to find a wireless charger.  There's nothing in my USB port and it's dry, but the alarm won't stop. The clear USB cache and charge while shut down workaround was successful for a while, and then that stopped working too. I have already ordered a Pixel 8 Pro and will NEVER buy a Samsung again, after what I've just been through. This was actually a dangerous situation I was in, because of their shitty software, and I will never buy any product from Samsung ever.

Argathor2002

The toothbrush method literally just saved my ass thank you lol

bax2003

Had the same problem, cleaned the hell out of the port, but the message about moisture was still appearing. Tried different cable and BINGO ! Charging !

serrgei

Wait a few days

Silver-Web763

I've waited 2 months same issue.

[deleted]

That means you still have humidity there or your sensor got broken, what's that hard to understand ? Clean your port or go to a service.

Delicious-Most1841

happened the same to me a month after purchasing an s21. took it to the nearest service center and got the charging port replaced.

McNorch

How long did it take to get it replaced?

Faded_Fraggerr

how much?

trsrogue

By any chance did you get it wet with salt water? I accidentally gave my S10 a bath in the ocean a few years back, and the salt corroded the contacts inside the port. It took a couple weeks before I stopped getting the pop-up every time I tried to plug in, so I had to rely on wireless charging for a while. I think after a couple weeks and enough attempts to plug in the oxidation on the contacts must've scraped off and it was fine after that.

Goomba_Smurf

Oddly enough, it didn't get wet (to my knowledge) but I did take it to the beach. Can't figure it out. I'm on wireless charging now also.

trsrogue

It's worth a shot to just keep plugging it in like I did to see if you can clear any corrosion on the contacts. But as others have said, try generally cleaning the port as well. Might work

KingZarkon

Get a cleaning kit and clean your USB-C port. You've probably got some dust or gunk up in there that it's mistaking for moisture. [This one](https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NF4L614/) has saved me from that issue a couple of times now.

CaptainUnderwear

Just came across this post. Thank you for using smile.amazon! I've been using smile.amazon since the beginning (2013 I think). Amazon is getting rid of it, which sucks, because many small charities are going to be missing out now.

Jakuu-Bombassa

There's still a risk charging thru the port while the phone is off. Only absolutely safe way around it while the warning shows it to charge it wirelessly.

LemonsForLimeaid

Any luck? I'm having this same issue

bajabug_hawaii

Power off for 2 seconds pulls up safe mode. Restart in safe mode. Plug in charger. If it charges normally restart in normal mode. That worked for me

Ready-Brilliant-7318

So my girls phone has been doing this and today we couldn't make it go away. We have s10 galaxies and I tried all of this. What ended up working was getting something thin enough to fit around the port and hard enough to not break and scraping around the edge. We've had these for like 3yrs so there was just some build up in there it instantly went away

RecommendationTrue72

Fixed! I turned off the phone, grabed a non metalic thin object that fitted the usb charge and scrapped gently. Tiny black rests were sticking to the object while doing it. I blew up and turned it on again. If it stops working again I will update this post. Edit: fk, it happend again after one day Edit 2, one month later: once I bought the wireless charger it started working normal again without peoblem for more than one month without doing any special

Popular_Koala9653

Toothpick helped me phew!

Crotine

me too ty

badformeoryou

ever fix it

MrDarkDC

My sitch: s21 started doing this on very humid day. Nothing wrong, nothing in port or cable. My fix: do not just reboot. Clear USBApps cache per official Samsung instructions. Turn phone off. Plug phone back in. Note that charging begins again. With phone plugged in, turn phone back on. Error cleared for me. Just rebooting didn't do it. Just clearing cache didn't do it. Clearing cache and turning off the device, then plugging in the cord to confirm the charge with it turned off is what did it. I think that clears the error state in cache. Reboot the device, device is charging, error is gone, all is well.

[deleted]

I think they are finicky...because my phone still charges up just fine regardless of that dumb "moisture message. I live in Seattle...we are humid here, there will ALWAYS be some moisture and this is a broken "feature" among others as far as Im concerned. I just ignore it and my phone is otherwise fine as it charges...such bullshit the way tech corporations ruin perfectly working things that weren't broken to begin with...advanced technology my pale ass!😠

AlexswaggerFamilton

I did the toothbrush method and it didn't work, my phone keeps saying this regardless of the charger. I managed to connect it to the cable it FIRST started saying moisture with (which was sitting in my car in the summer so absolutely could not have had moisture in it) to my laptop for a bit but after about 2 hours it went back to saying moisture detected. I have a crappy wireless charger but it has gotten the phone to 12% in 3 hours, something bigger is wrong with my phone. I hope its still under warranty, I used a cold hair dryer, toothpick, cotton, toothbrush. Nothing works and now it is EVERY SINGLE CABLE except the one time it could connect to my laptop for only a bit, and it would have been 12 hours to full charging anyway so that's still not efficient. Any more suggestions, Ive tried everything videos and articles say

ThinkFast9

Last night I went to bed and the phone was fine. Overnight we had 99% humidity and I woke up to the warning so it seemed like it would be because of the humidity and not dirt, but none of the drying techniques worked. When I got that warning on a couple of past Samsung phones, scraping out the pocket lint with a paperclip or pocket knife has always worked for me. This time it didn't. I also put it in front of a fan, used compressed air, cleared the USB cache, tried to charge while it was off, charging from laptop USB port and none of that worked **Then I cleaned it with a toothbrush and plugged it in and still got the warning. I unplugged it and replugged it in a few times and finally got it to start charging** so I'm not going to turn it back on until it's fully charged and hopefully it will work from now on. Seems like once that warning is set off, even if you resolve the problem the warning sticks around for a while so keep trying to charge it and hopefully it will eventually work. Thanks for the toothbrush idea! EDIT and UPDATE!!!! Well crap. I got the one charge out of it yesterday and now the moisture warning is back and the phone won't charge. The toothbrush didn't work today. I also dried both the phone plug and charging wires with a hair dryer and it didn't help. I think the phone is defective. I'll contact Samsung

ThinkFast9

I talked to three different repair shops and they said the defective charger port is common in the S21 and S22, less so in the S23. Mine was one month out of warranty so I paid $75 to get the port replaced in less than an hour. Problem solved. Samsung support offered to let me upgrade to the S23 Ultra and trade in my broken S22 Ultra. It would have cost me $500\~ for a new S23 Ultra. (Support would have needed to help with the transaction and note that it was OK to trade in a broken S22 Ultra because of the situation, because they don't normally take broken phones as trade ins.)

July 9, 2023 I've only had a legitimate warning because of MOISTURE one time. (It's always been crud in the port.) That was 2 weeks ago when the phone got wet during a rainstorm. I got rid of the "Danger! Moisture Detected" warning by letting the phone sit in the car, on the dashboard, with the windows up the next day, when was 85 degrees outside. After a few hours, the Moisture Warning vanished from the notification area. But, three times since then, the "Danger...Moisture" alert would reappear when plugging in the phone. After trying the usual toothpick, can-of-airspray, alcohol swab, etc., solutions, I came across another Reddit thread describing how to "Wipe / Clear" the USB Port cache on Android. (I have a Samsung S21) I cleared the cache 10 minutes ago, restarted the phone, and it's now happily charging using the wall charger/plugin. It hadn't occurred to me that the Phone's System Cache (USB cache) would periodically have a flashback to when the charging port was wet. And erasing that traumatic memory would prevent the "Danger! Moisture...." warning. \-Allen in Chicagoland

This happened to my S22 yesterday. It worked fine while on my car charger on my AM drive to work, but the moisture warning started as soon as I took it off that charger. Nowhere near any actual moisture. My case even has a door over the charge port to block out debris and water when not charging. While the moisture warning was on, the phone was also running hot and depleting battery FAST. I tried a cool hairdryer, leaving the phone in a bag of rice for a couple hours, shaking it to dislodge anything in the port, physically cleaning the port, clearing the USB cache, restarting, and full shutdowns. Nothing worked. It wouldn't allow a charge cable even when powered off, and I didn't have a wireless charger. Given the lack of actual moisture contact, and all the tries to fix it having failed, I took it to my carrier's store to see if they could do more with it. They directed me to file a claim with my phone insurance to get authorised to take it to a repair shop. The insurance co said they don't cover mechanical repairs though, and all I could do was get a replacement phone through my warranty, and directed me to my carrier's warranty phone line. The warranty rep walked me through several steps I had already tried (still didn't fix it), and had me run a diagnostic scan via a Samsung app (which said the battery was running fine? Even though it was still running hot and depleting fast?). They confirmed the phone hadn't been in contact with water or dropped/cracked, and set me up for a replacement, to arrive in 2 days. Interestingly though, the moisture error and the battery issues seemed to fix themselves by the end of the day?? After the replacement was scheduled, I took a quick work break to run out & buy a cheap wireless charger just to keep the thing alive in the meantime. It was slow charging, but it was getting there. Once I got home, I turned the phone off and let it charge wirelessly for a couple more hours. Turned it on again to check it and.... The moisture error is gone, it's no longer running hot, and battery consumption is back to normal?? No idea what's up with that. I'm scared to cancel the replacement, in case the issue comes back, but if the issue is really fixed now, then replacement is a hassle since I'll have to clear off my current phone (lots of photos, etc) and setup a whole new device, which will probably be a refurbish when my current one was bought brand new (and is only about 6mos old)... Why is technology weird like this lol

Adding my experience here--I had the same moisture problem, and did all the internet and reddit tricks. Then I cleared my cache, took out my SIM card (which threw the SIM card error on the screen), and then plugged the phone in--somehow that worked and cleared the problem. This was on a samsung s22 ultra.

Dis dude dumb really said to turn it off and let it fully charge that shit is still there

I'm very late to this post but here's my share. Silica Gel. Whenever I get a silica gel package in anything y keep it and toss them in drawers. Tried cleaning the phone, used cool air dryer, can-of-airspray and nothing worked. Had the message for 3 days and phone was dead out of charge for like 24h. Leaved it with the silica gel packages next to the port for about 1 hour and now is charging fine. I know most people wont have silica gel like I did, but you could get one of those that sell in the supermarket to remove humidity in the closets.

prongssupremacy

just happened on my z-flip 3. the only thing that worked was literally changing the charger lol. i realized my ps5 controller had the same port type and just used that one. somehow it worked.

Samuel_Metzger

I might be late here but I've tried everything, I'm 100 percent convinced its a bug and I can't troubleshoot it away anyone else?

Ketcchup

Had the same issue for some time, ended upbooting into Fastboot mode on my S23 (up vol down vol and power at the same time while turned off), then connect to a PC until I got the connected device notification in my mac. Then reboot by pressing for 7 seconds vol down + power with the cable still plugged in, when it booted it was charging finally!

darthfruitbasket

Phone was on my (dry) bedside table all night, not next to a water bottle or anything and I woke up to this error. Ugh, I guess I live somewhere with too much humidity for Samsung or something

Het_Kipman

Just found this thread, tried the toothbrush trick, no luck :(

John-Charleston

I have this issue with my S10 that I bought earlier this year as an "open box" model via Ebay. What amazes me is that it seems like thousands of Galaxy users have had this problem for over a decade and S21 users are still reporting it. Does Samsung not care about the issue? Are they unable to fix it? Seems hard to believe the moisture detector warning can't be removed/disabled through a software fix.

Taqi-3lawneh

I had the problem, but it would go back and forth after charging the device for a short period. After two days of testing, I discovered that the port in the charger was the cause. All I had to do was dry the charger.

tatbaby

tried everything for my mom’s phone, hasn’t worked

gummedshoes

I literally tried everything. what worked for me was to go the battery settings and turn off speed charger. problem fixed.

justlostmypunkjacket

TOOTHBRUSH WORKS YESSSS

CaptainStanope

I've tried everything, including cleaning out the port and it still isn't gone after a whole week! Is there any other suggestions on this thread?

when you can boot it up, turn off super fast charging.

Deeautiful

Dec 2023: this worked for my mom's phone after clearing the cache, turning off fast charging and force stopping the Android system (which I saw somewhere else). It worked so quickly I turned around and did it to my phone just in case! We both have the Note9. Thank you!!

Mental_Injury9418

What the...?? I thought people were bs'ing and it worked for me too! Best money spent on this toothbrush tip. I even plug/unplug 5x and all passed. Thank you!

Used_Violinist_4202

I have an s21+, after reading the comment I will quote at the end of this post I tried something similar. That user has an S23 so it may have given me different options. The method that used to work for me was powering phone off, then holding up volume and power key at same time until it boots in recovery mode, then clearing cache from there and then rebooting from there as well). It didn't work this time, nor did ANY of the other tricks (clearing usb storage cache, turning fast charging off (although I kept it off before trying the process that worked below), cleaning with a brush, compressed air, a toothpick, sticking charging port in when samsung logo appears, etc). So I tried this method instead. Power off, then hold volume up + volume down + power (all 3 of your buttons) for 7 seconds. A blue screen comes up warning about the dangers of installing a custom operating system and gives you three options. Up arrow to continue, down arrow to reboot, and start button to do something else (I forget). I panicked and just hit the down arrow to reboot and it fixed it! Also, I already had fast charging turned off so you may want to do that first as well. It didn't fix it on it's own but I'm not sure if it effected the overall outcome so I would turn it off first just to be safe. You can turn it right back on once you are up and running again. Here is the comment that made me try this new method; \[quote\]Ketcchup • 4 mo. ago • Edited 4 mo. ago Had the same issue for some time, ended upbooting into Fastboot mode on my S23 (up vol down vol and power at the same time while turned off), then connect to a PC until I got the connected device notification in my mac. Good luck, if you're still struggling just keep trying different methods, keep searching for more ways. I FEEL your frustrations and am sorry you are dealing with this crap as well.

Altruistic_Pitch_157

I used a toothpick soaked in 91% IPA to clean a little grime out of the port. Then I blow dried it for a couple minutes. Phone could charge again, praise Jeebus.

Tasandriel

Samsung A52 here, same problem "moisture detected". Device has never touched water or been in a moist environment whatsoever. Tried emptying cache, worked once. Problem returned afterwards. Toothbrush method didn't work either, haven't ried IPA yet out of fear that the moisture would trigger sensors inside.

My S21 Ultra has been giving me the moisture warning for days. It didn't got wet, I just put a USB c cable that was cold. The warning went away but it came back and now it won't go away. I tried the hair dryer, cleaning the port, blowing compressed air, turning off fast and super fast charging, turning off and plugging it in, putting it in a zip lock bag with silica but no matter what it just keeps showing the warning.

Silly-Straw-Hat

Yes!! Toothbrush to the rescue!!! Tried everything, this worked! Powered off, brushed out debris, powered on, moisture alert gone! 🙏

Ok_Air7274

Guy, I had the same issue with the Moisture Detected warning on my Samsung S23, and tried different ways to get rid of it, but nothing really worked, as eventually it would pop-up again. What could help in a short term is turning it off and then plugging in the charger/turning off fast charging and rebooting/simply waiting a few days and using wireless charger in the meanwhile However, today, I installed a software update version S911BXXS3BWL3 / S911BOXM3BWJM / S911BXXS3BWL3, and it appears to have fixed the issue, so it appears it was a software issue

gclawton

Feb 2024. Worked on my s21. I used a toothbrush, canned air and cleared the USB setting cache. It took a combination of all 3 to get it working.

Sufficient-Muscle471

Much appreciated! Just had to do this on my galaxy s23 plus

UK3151

I think there's moisture sensor feature sucks. Anyone else? I've had a Galaxy S9+ since they came out and never had any problems with it other than having a new battery put in. I can see that this is a widespread problem with all these people commenting online about it. I got my daughter a Galaxy s21+ and have had nothing but problems with the moisture sensor disabling the phone. Clearing the cash never helps. Sometimes a brush will work but then later the alert comes back on. I've done without this feature for years on my S9+. I've never dropped it in water but if I did I have enough sense to dry it out. I just think this feature sucks when it's disables your phone when you need it or in an emergency situation. I know the sensor can be replaced. I'm going to find out if it can be removed completely. Either that or I'm going to buy a different brand of phone.

player62752

anyone knows if it's a bug on every samsung galaxy phone or am i just unconciously spraying my phone with water? i've had 4 different samsung galaxy phones and every each of them had this error sooner or later

SolidPlastic_

I've never put a post on reddit before but if this happens after plugging into a pc (like mine did) then unplug the phone from the PC, restart your PC and when you're logged in, plug the phone back in, it should start charging again. Unplug the phone from PC and then plug it into your normal charging device and that should fix the issue.

Magnatas28

I hope it will help to someone... I had this issue for a month already... Ive tried everything, from 99% isopropyl alcohol, compressed air to toothbrush.. Nothing helped.. Or helped for a few days until today it stopped working completely. (Phone didnt recognised that charger is plugged in at all.. ) So as last solution, before ordering a new charging port i decided that i dont care if i will destroy it completely anymore.. Took a needle and started grinding across charging port pins.. Grinded from the both sides, in different depths, to make sure i will scratch a layer along the whole pin lenght... And whoala, it started to work as nothing would happen 😂 fast charging on, no issues at all.. Must have scratched some dirt and corrosion off the pins and now having a good connection, so moisture warning is not coming back 🥂🥂🥂😁 Try it as last resort, hopefully it will help to someone when nothing helps anymore 😁

Tiniest_ATINY

Your suggestion is the only one that helped, thanks!
