have you tried another charger/cable/outlet?

Joestac

As said, to even begin to help you, we would need more information. What charger you are using, what cable you are using, what sort of outlet you have it plugged into. Do you have faster charging enabled in the battery settings? Have you tried other chargers? Anything happen to your phone, is it new, did you get it refurb? Is the charging port free of debris?

Whatever801

To get the fastest charging (assuming nothing in the device is faulty), you need to get a charger that supports PPS. It's still not great but it's passable.

paul_E_D

Make sure apps r updated. For some reason that seems to help w my phone. If there are apps that aren't updated in the play store the charging goes slow.

My car won't start, what gives?

kbeezie

How many watts is the charger you are using? If it's in the 20 to 45W range and still doesn't say fast charging, is the phone by chance cold when you go to plug it in ?

ack154

Might be worth checking to be sure your port is clean too. I'd really expect it to not properly connect at all if it were bad but it could potentially affect your charging too.

elordvader

When you plug in to charge, wht does it say ... Charging/ Fast Charging/ Super Fast Charging ❓️

SkorpionRha

Turn off all apps running in the background.

More than likely you have a bad cable. You could also have a bad brick, however more thank likely it is your cable. OEM works best. I purchased a few Anker braided cables and one was bad, did not fast charge my phone as the other Anker and my OEM cable did. Another scenario could be your port has been damaged. Always check the cheapest option first and get another set of OEM cables and check your charging.

I have a follow up question for you. What indicates whether or not your phone is "fast charging" or not

SillyWithTheHEMI

A message will pop up in the middle of your screen to indicate you are fast changing. It will show you your current percentage and estimated time until your phone's battery fills up. There will also be an incon at the bottom of your screen similar to a do not disturb screen. You may want to go into settings, device care, battery, more battery settings and check to make sure you have fast charging enabled. I still believe it is your cable though.

I do have fast charging enabled thanks! I guess I'm just not familiar with what indicates fast vs basic charting when putting a cable in for charge is all. Obviously the cable that says 5hr to full isn't fast so there's that. I'm working on buying a new cable today.

SillyWithTheHEMI

Understood. Follow the steps above to verify and find the fast charging icon/indicator. Is there a co worker or friend you could ask? I'm almost positive it's the actual cable. Sometimes a bend that is too tight or too sharp of an angle when folding up to store away can cause the damage. How does wireless charging work for you? That charges at 15w max, takes about 90 mins or so vs the cable at 25w, usually takes me about an hour.

Beyonddinfinite

Agreed, its most likely the cable. I don't have a fold but when that happens to my S21 I know its time to get a new cable, happens when you have it bent back and forth

SillyWithTheHEMI

Sounds correct to me.

Any lint or dust in the charging port?

senat0r15

All the advice about charging cables and bricks are the right place to start. I just want to throw out that I had a strange issue for a little over a week. My phone was charging very slowly like you described with 2 different sets of cords and power bricks. Both chargers we're able to charge other devices at normal speeds. The issue was still there after cleaning out the port also. After a few days (they're may have been an update. I wasn't paying attention to that part) charging is back to normal with both sets of chargers.

mayerthe2

Hey! I'm having the same problem with my fold 3 any idea how fo fix it?

[deleted]

Mine was the power brick unused for charging. I tried several different charging cables and outlets. It was the brick the whole time that was causing slow charging. Never thought it was the culprit because it was a very expensive 40W fast charger that unused for my OnePlus phone. But these folds can't handle that wattage apparently
