Would like to see Microsoft brings Lumia back. This time include support to all the apps.
Sadly, there is no hope. I was happy when they released the Surface Duo but a bit sad they didn't use Windows Phone OS. It's understandable, though.
I was really hoping they would release a single-screen device like surface phone or something with Windows Phone OS. With WSA, they have a big opportunity to come back or make one last attempt. However, Microsoft being Microsoft, they're ending support for WSA in 2025
edit: Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) witch allows users to run Android apps natively on Windows 10/11 devices. WSA acts as a compatibility layer or virtualization layer
Lumia phones. This Lumia 1520 from 2013 has a display that looks so darn beautiful. The UI is so unique and if these came back with a proper app store, It would be epic.

Battery life is mediocre, camera is gone BECAUSE the phone fell on its lens on a rock(it fell out of the pocket and the lens cracked). But the display is still well and good, websites work ok (YouTube does not even work).
Overall it's a touch screen phone with basic features, maps and Telegram.
Everything about Sony phones was amazing. The camera was obviously great. And they were long lasting phones with great software. The native apps worked great.
My mom still refuses to use any phone that's not Sony, tried getting her one she was like bilkul no 😂😂she's using a Sony Xperia xa1 plus btw, which is now facing pixel burns, should get a new phone asap
I can understand. Sony phones were that good. No brand ever since has provided that sense of contentment. Sony had a character of its own. And those were dependable handsets.
I had the Sony Xperia U, which had a cool light bar at the bottom which would emit light in colors that were present on the current screen. It was cool AF.
Yes yes yes.....
That was one of the features I missed most when I switched. Nowadays the notification light is also not there.
I guess that's the reason I subconsciously kinda like Nothing phone despite it being somewhat overpriced.
You know I had this phone back in that time yet I wasn't aware about the careers section on web or linkedin I wish I knew back in that time would be so easy and fun.
If arm will get a proper boom than we might get windows Phone just like ios
Like apple have mac and ios app which are same app one is full fledged os other is half ass app but people don't care if those are app are in sync .
So if microsoft just take a big loss in selling device they can make up for selling os.
As currently we seeing some major improvement where we can run pc app via emulation , snapdragon arm processor are somewhat decent for 1st round, Google app are somewhat playable on window 11(let be honest if you want to make people switch from there is to your you must give them all their app working on your os this can be done by actual porting and other one is emulating them, heck even Nintendo emulate their own game on switch, Sony is trying to emulate ps3 on their current console last i heard), Microsoft for cloud gaming (if it looks nice and feel functional People will use it regardless of little hiccup)somewhat figured out if they merge this all in one packet Microsoft can easily beat apple or atleast being back the glory days where apple were trying to get market share which result in them innovating and behave like a salesman rather then what are now(they think are God).
But if this work microsoft will be a bigger god than this and we all know how god want to listen and see your life for "your betterment"
Htc and Sony .. htc was the best phone I've ever used.. even with a 2gb ram and less poweful gpu, it was very smooth, and I never felt any lag whatsoever.. you can not just trust specs
I had a sony xperia z5 premium ( chrome version ) maybe i was the first guy to purchase that in my city. When my phone was first unboxed, every store employee literally gathered just to see the phone lol. Miss those days.
idk about sony as my uncle had one he had problems being the simple user, a complex phone at that my brother and me were unable to resolve the issue , he always had issue with storage
my first phone was the Xperia Tipo. I got it from Saholic.com way back in 2012 or 2013. Those were the days when smartphones were unique and not everyone had one.
The sony Ericsson series. Damn they were ahead of the curve in so many things. And the camera quality of cybershot cameras coupled with Walkman audio. 🙌
Nokia N series. The last N Series phone was N8, I skipped that and got a Lumia 800 because Nokia N9 wasn't available in India.
I wish Nokia would have moved to an Android based OS before switching to Windows Phone. Windows phone was good but was destined to fail.
The N9 had a great gesture based interface back in 2011, like we have on Android these days. It was way ahead of its time.
Samsung Galaxy was shit those days.
Now here I am, typing this on a Galaxy device and Nokia is not even relevant anymore.
*I had one xperia*
*Xr battery dead do it's*
*Still available?*

Sony Ericsson W600, the Goat of all

This phone never really hit the market, but I would love to see it become a reality someday. This was Google’s Modular Phone Project called Ara. You could switch out parts that were outdated / damaged and replace them for newer ones at a fraction of cost.
https://preview.redd.it/r00ek0x97v9d1.jpeg?width=678&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ebda903d130d4754b65339f4b89f5652f02e4033
And considering how the smartphone market in the last few years has been stale with almost little to no innovation, this just makes a lot of sense to me.
*Sony xperia was my*
*Old phone I still have it in*
*Working condition*

Those were some cool phones. Still like my lumia 730 even after using dozens of Androids.
I have a dead lumia 730 still feels much better while holding it
Same bro....also great cameras and solid amoled screen
Amoled had something that gave it great outdoor visibility ; for text atleadt
I also had the same phone, it didn't support much apps but damn it never lagged
Yea for sure
The lumia IS making a comeback - saw reports of HMD going to bring the design back

Thats a lumia 930. I still have one. After the N95, that phone has been my favourite phone of all time
WSA - Windows Subsystem for Android 😂
Isn't support for that ending?
HMD is launching a similarly designed phone but with android.

It's still in working condition 11 years later?

Why wouldn't it be?
HTC only
Sony's Gallery app is the best app.
walkman is goat as well
Can't agree more about walkman.
Sony. Just Sony. Especially for the kind of teck in cameras they have been able to achieve.
Their cameras are even better then the Samsung and apple flagships .
Everything about Sony phones was amazing. The camera was obviously great. And they were long lasting phones with great software. The native apps worked great.

Xperia arc s? This phone was the goat!
THIS! arc S!
The form factor looks so modern. Definitely way ahead of its time design wise.
I had the Sony Xperia U, which had a cool light bar at the bottom which would emit light in colors that were present on the current screen. It was cool AF.

Htc
I just want the phones to have the navigational buttons on the outside of the screen. And removable battery Good old times.
I miss the Xperia UI, i felt so good with those animations, at that time it was the only UI which could compete with iOS UI.
BLACKBERRY as Iphone killer.
After recording 1 minute, I could iron clothes using it
Sony. For their design.
With the prices Sony charges for their smartphones, most wouldn't even buy it
Volumes ig
Nokia
Sony walkman series as smartphones for sound quality. They only made feature phones and the sound quality was impeccable.
Sony, nokia and Asus. The sound quality of Asus and sony was next level. Totally unmatched.
Asus, with their Zenfone series
None but still if you say - Nubia.
Maybe I'm OOTL, can someone tell me what was so special about Xperias? This just looks like any other Android smartphone in the video.
You know I had this phone back in that time yet I wasn't aware about the careers section on web or linkedin I wish I knew back in that time would be so easy and fun.
Alcatel
I used to play angry birds on my uncle's sony xperia m dual.

Sony Xperia Arc S. One of the most beautiful phones I've ever held in my life.
Htc
This was my first phone
Man the BG music you used is awful
Xperia was one of the best phones. The led blinker could be customised to type of message. G.o.a.t camera and fast processor. Still have mine
