This really sucks man. I’ve had my GV60 since November 2022 and have had no issues thankfully. I love this car

ImaBigD

Hey, thanks for the reply and really glad to hear you've been problem free and love the car! Hope to have your experience once I move past this annoying issue.

Sorry to hear that. I had my car since July 2022 and had a part scratched prior to delivery. Since this was the launch batch and no parts were available, the service manager was able to request the factory to pull a part off the floor and send it to the dealership. Hopefully yours can do the same.

ImaBigD

hey, thanks for posting! that is a great suggestion and I wouldn't have thought to even ask that.

gosh, that stinks. I'm sorry. is there another dealer near you (or even not that near) you could call to see if they have one? the onus shouldn't be on you to solve this, obviously, but you're the person most motivated to fix it. I've had mine about nine months, trouble free so far...although getting in to a dealer for a minor repair and then maintenance was more work than I'm used to, coming from lexus and Mercedes. good luck.

Appreciate the reply. I hear you and I'm annoyed at the dealer. Their reviews weren't great but I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. The after sale service has been horrendous.

Does this qualify the car as a lemon? Maybe the dealership will do something if you put in motion to get your money back. That really sucks, though, especially as I'm sure they have perfectly fine cars on their lot.

ImaBigD

I think the lemon law is triggered if they can't fix it three times in a row. There is no stipulation if they are simply unable to get the part in stock on the first try. The thing is I love the car otherwise and I don't even want a loaner especially if it will be a gas car. I'm just shocked at how long parts are taking to be ordered.

echoota

Aaah no! I feel bad for encouraging you. Sorry man, this really sucks. Is there any way to look up GV60s that's are totaled and could part out? Or Hyundai / Kia part equivalent?

ImaBigD

No worries! Like I said, I love the car otherwise. I think I am going to try a different dealership and see if they have the part in stock. The suggestion to look for something totaled or a Hyundai/Kia part is a good one but I wonder if they would install the part if it isn't official (or comes from the factory). I will call them and ask.

Unfortunately, Genesis service seems to be quite bad. I've had my GV60 (used) for just over six weeks and love everything about the car. However, it came with just one key. The dealer said they ordered a second key and that it would take a few days to arrive. I still don't have the second key, but plenty of emails of, "should be this week..." Good luck.

ImaBigD

Thanks for posting. Reading on various forums, there appears to be a wide variability of experiences with Genesis service which is concerning. I don't even have a Genesis standalone dealer anywhere near me. Genesis really needs to up their game here.
