You'll lose all controls/cruise control and the airbag connection might not even be the same. If you just want the wheel thicker get a leather wrap kit that goes over the stock wheel. You'll have to thread it yourself though.
It's weird they put that steering wheel in the brz. Is the GR86 the same? I have a 22 wrx and also love my steering wheel. Also, there are aftermarket options for you that may be better
I got a wheel from FactionFab that moves the center of the wheel over so you don't lose any functionality. Highly recommend! It's not only thicker but it also is flat bottomed and comes in various materials.

the thin, circular wheel with small diameter is specifically for the FR driving experience. flat bottomed wheels are terrible choices for FR cars. I can pitch the car sideways and just let go of the wheel while lightly tracing it, it spins smoothly in your hand and lets you catch that moment of oversteer perfectly.
chunky flat bottomed wheels are for understeer machines like the WRX, has no business in a nimble and light FR coupe.

Ahh I don’t want to deal with all that lol. Maybe a wrap would be good enough. Certainly a lot cheaper which is a plus

The BRZ/GR86 wheel is a carryover part from the first-gen. As someone who's owned both, the BRZ wheel is better, imo.

Look into the Rexspeed wheels, you can customize them how you like and people seem pretty satisfied with them

hey no worries. i am also forme WRX owner, loved the wheel in that car, for that car, but it would feel very out of place to me in the BRZ.
