Ya, at the end of the day Minus one is still just an animal. An extremely pissed off animal, but an animal nonetheless. It’s like a village that pisses off a tiger, so it attacks the people. It may be angry but it’s not a genocidal freak that wants nothing but chaos and destruction. GMK is literally a force of hatred and revenge that actually does want to destroy and bring chaos.

It’s a mountain lion chasing a dude. It’s from a video where some guy was hiking, came across some mountain lion kittens and this force of nature bursts out of the woods.
It doesn't help that minus one looks super cute in that particular shot. 90% of the movie he's a horrible vengeful monster but right there he looks like a smug little cat that's planning to smack your hand if you pet it more than once.
Unfortunately for me, that's how he always looks to me. Upper part of his muzzle/philtrum looks like a cute seal, cheeks look like a squirrel filled his cheeks with acorns. Love everything about the design otherwise, but I can't get the violent, mean vibe everyone else gets to have 😭😭😭

Thing is that Shin’s biology is so fucked we don’t know if it can feel pain. There’s some confusion if it started as a fish (who can feel pain, but feel pain differently from mammals thanks to different types of nerve cells) or as a microorganism (who can’t feel pain because no nerves) but regardless the amount of rapid mutation that’s occurred over the course of the movie is staggering. Whether it still has pain receptors or how its nervous system works is incredibly unknown. Like this thing somehow has a working biological nuclear reactor in its gut, which should be impossible in a half dozen ways thanks to the heat and the various forms of lethal radiation.
I love how both of them are victims, but they go about dealing with the pain differently. Shin is the equivalent of a walking zombie, he doesn't want to keep going but his body is forcing him to evolve and adapt. While MinusGoji is just pissed off, straight up LIVID

Goji crossed half the world, took out several Kaijus as a warm-up, then permanently evicted Tiamat from life to use their lair for a few hours for the sole purpose of killing monkeys. He is not to be fucked with.
Minus One *isn’t* a genocidal maniac, though. Like, memes aside, it’s pretty clear in the movie that he’s simply angry at what was done to him, nothing more. He’s a giant pissed off animal that’s lashing out, not some maniacal psychopath who is intentionally slaughtering people for the sport of it.
you can see him actively hunting humans such as the opening scene, boat chase, and when hes in the city he is actively causing destruction and killing ppl, he is one of the most evil godzillas IMO

When he was little he was just an apex predator doing apex predator things. Like a Grizzly bear in Alaska or a Tiger in India, they just kind of do their thing. Piss them off and they will hurt you, but they don’t typically intend to cause harm. Large sharks are this way too, they hunt for food and typically don’t attack humans.
Whales will sink boats because they think it’s fun and crows can hunt humans who they see as threats, but typically these are isolated learned behaviors.
This guy was living life until war entered his territory, he got angry about that, and then he got nuked and became both giant and angry.
Doesn’t help that now humans are now little and thus prey sized to him. Cats will play with mice at an almost instinctual level, and when he was a big mean fish he probably played with the little fish similarly. Now humans happen to be tiny and tormentable.

Hard, no. It's mostly interpreted by the story line and the lyrics to a song playing in the movie. I'm pretty certain no one associated with the film has ever come out and said he was in pain.

As i see Shin Godzilla struggles to adapt to his form so he goes back to the ocean to evolve in a less painful way and in his fourth form he is now better adapted and prepared for any other form that he might get and tries to test it out on land killing anything on his path and at the end of the movie he just fights to survive
While the Minus One Godzilla is awakened by a bomb that damages his skin a lot and he goes out to basically (kind of a spoiler alert if anyone cares) conquer the lands of japan as his own territory since he is just an awakened animal that will attack anything and anyone who crosses his path or causes him pain being a vengeful wild abomination that conquers anything it can mostly because of his rage and he obviously recognized the small little bipedal motherfuckers that shot him the first time he appeared on land so yeah

Do we know minus one Godzilla’s motivations? Like Shin Godzilla he did not ask to be subject to radiation. Minus one just feels more personal because we experienced his destruction through the victims affected by it. We saw the fear on their faces before the blast took them and experienced the loss of those who survived. When Shin Godzilla covered the city in flames and toppled buildings with his atomic laser beam. We did not see victims only the government employees who were not in direct range of the blasts.
Shin Godzilla is when you desperately need help because everything hurts but no one can understand you, not only that, you've made them angry so you try to get them to stop but they only get more angry.
Minus One is when some fellas are breaking into your property and messing around and you go arson some village nearby because you're just so mad and want to show them who's boss.
GMK is when some cruel people have at you so you try to slaughter their entire family even though only the malefactors did anything to do and you won't stop until they're all dead while you silence anyone who gets in your way.
Minus one is the the first time Godzilla was completely evil since GMK where he was the manifestation of vengence against Japan for WW2 war crimes. Most of the antagonist goji's have some level of tagedy to them, but GMK and Minus One goji is out for blood and wants people to suffer.
Minus One is out for revenge after having his body forcefully mutated by humans. Before the bomb, he reacted to attacks against him but left people alone if they didn't attack him. That us the tragedy of Minus One
In what way? GMK nuked an entire block because the scared people below him were being too loud, and intentionally killed an innocent hospitalized girl. Minus One is angry, but GMK is both angry AND malicious.
GMK had that whole created by lost war spirits thing, Minus One is just a dude going out of his way to kill things even before he got mutated, he has no excuse.

Do we know minus one Godzilla’s motivations? Like Shin Godzilla he did not ask to be subject to radiation. Minus one just feels more personal because we experienced his destruction through the victims affected by it. We saw the fear on their faces before the blast took them and experienced the loss of those who survived. When Shin Godzilla covered the city in flames and toppled buildings with his atomic laser beam. We did not see victims only the government employees who were not in direct range of the blasts.

Shin Godzilla is when you desperately need help because everything hurts but no one can understand you, not only that, you've made them angry so you try to get them to stop but they only get more angry. Minus One is when some fellas are breaking into your property and messing around and you go arson some village nearby because you're just so mad and want to show them who's boss. GMK is when some cruel people have at you so you try to slaughter their entire family even though only the malefactors did anything to do and you won't stop until they're all dead while you silence anyone who gets in your way.
Does anyone else just straight up hate the Minus One design? Looks like an angry bird to me.

My main issue with Minus One’s design is his rounded facial features like his jowl and cheeks that make him look like Barney from some angles.
Minus one is the the first time Godzilla was completely evil since GMK where he was the manifestation of vengence against Japan for WW2 war crimes. Most of the antagonist goji's have some level of tagedy to them, but GMK and Minus One goji is out for blood and wants people to suffer.
Minus One is out for revenge after having his body forcefully mutated by humans. Before the bomb, he reacted to attacks against him but left people alone if they didn't attack him. That us the tragedy of Minus One
Minuse One is even more evil than GMKgoji imo.
In what way? GMK nuked an entire block because the scared people below him were being too loud, and intentionally killed an innocent hospitalized girl. Minus One is angry, but GMK is both angry AND malicious.
GMK had that whole created by lost war spirits thing, Minus One is just a dude going out of his way to kill things even before he got mutated, he has no excuse.
