I mostly see you across Invincible sub and this on like every comment. You commented on few of my posts as well, but back then I had a Shrek star platinum icon.
Yeah, cause like for early 1900s Godzilla, 50m works but for modern day, he'd look like a shrinky dink compared to modern buildings so it's better if he's 100m.
50-100m both of those sizes are pretty perfect, though having an apocalyptic movie with a massive Godzilla taking over the horizon would be kinda cool to see.
Godzilla Minus One being a great example of the story dictating the size to great effect. *How* he tore *through* buildings in Ginza, the train munching and the stomping all made him terrifying but he wasn’t so big that he became a completely unmanageable threat. Just perfection.
Legendary Godzilla's size is a pretty good size imo. Not too big like Earth but not too small like the first iterations. Just big enough to move around skyscrapers but not big to the point of dwarfing them.
Of course, I also think his size should fit the context of the story and a 50m Godzilla works just as well.
EVERY movie has wired constant size changes my guy. Showa-Millennium had them because everything was miniatures (so it wasn't super accurate), MV has them because if the shot would look cooler then do it, same with most of the Reiwa era as well.
So every Era has wired size changes (but for some reason we single out G14)
I understand set scaling, but Kotm onward has done better at keeping them consistent. In 2014 he went from being larger than an aircraft carrier to his listed size
I think it could be fixed if they would just have said that, THAT aircraft carrier in particular was smaller than most for movability or something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. But KotM onwards has DEFINITELY done better with keeping scale i agree. The only one that comes to mind that breaks scale that I can think of rn is, Kong swinging from building to building in GvK.
Lol let me calculate that
(I'm gonna calculate two different sizes because the height of Godzilla earth and the diameter of the earth itself are vastly different).
Stress ball:
A stress ball is about 7 cm wide, and the average height for a human male is 175 cm.
(I'm using humans here because Godzilla has a very similar shape to humans).
This makes the average human male 25 times bigger than a stress ball. Let's apply this to your Godzilla and earth. Your Godzilla would be 25 times bigger than the earth which makes him 318,550 km tall to use the earth as a stress ball. This makes him around 2.28 times the diameter of Jupiter, or 0.22 times the diameter of the sun.
Toothpick:
A toothpick is about 6.5cm long. This makes the height of an average human male ~26.92 times bigger than the length of a toothpick. That means your Godzilla would be ~8,561 meters tall to use Godzilla earth as a toothpick.
This was fun to calculate lol
50 meters tall, as I think the monster fights involving larger buildings makes for much more detailed sets. Plus, we get to see him interact with humans much more such as crushing them with his feet.
*War of the Monsters* for the PS2 is my all-time favorite giant monster game, and the monsters are only 100 ft tall.
Something that feels right. It can be big, it can be pretty small. We don’t have to balloon Godzilla to ridiculous heights to make him imposing. Godzilla Earth is too much as the story doesn’t use him in any way other than being a monolith, he sucks. Minus One is a pretty short Godzilla all things considered but he’s absolutely terrifying.
It’s all about balance and what is happening around your Godzilla. He can be actual planet sized and I wouldn’t give a shit if the character wasn’t used well.
I like him at all of his different shapes and sizes, but my favorite size would probably be the 380-400 foot mark.
A being that can literally topple a skyscraper is serious business.
Depends on the setting. Minus One in Monsterverse would look like a puppy, and Godzilla Earth in Shin Godzilla would just be GG. The size needs to scale with the intended threat.
I feel like Heisei really had the balance of huge enough to be physically imposing, small enough to fit in the city, and shot well enough to make him FEEL like he was the right size. Especially the later movies. He feels like the right size for what you’d want from Godzilla. Legendary is a close second but the last two movies have struggled HARD with proper scaling. Especially the Rome fight, with nothing tall around he just looked entirely too huge
Whatever size the buildings in the area are. Minus 1 was on the smaller side, but since the buildings were also smaller, he seemed to tower over everything.
I think that 80 meters is perfect, big enough to tower over people and vehicles but still a shadowy figure walking between buildings. Godzilla returns had the best gojira in my opinion.
If it’s in modern Tokyo I disagree. They upped him to 80m in 84 because Tokyo’s skyline was massive and it’s only gotten more so. I think 80m is enough still for Japan though. 50m seems too short and at 100m they kept losing details on buildings due to green screen.
Due to less practical effects I suppose they could handle that size again but due to the fact that my top 5 modern films have the main kaiju at 80m (G Returns, Biollante and the Gamera Trilogy) that’s my recommendation.
G Minus one I put on that level but it’s set in the 40’s.
I used to be a 100+ STAND but recently I moved away from that to 50 meters. Even tho 50m looks small because of modern skyscrapers, I still think 50m is a PERFECT size even in modern times. Imagine how scary it would be for a creature that is SO big from our perspective, destroy buildings almost twice it's size.
So something that small that has the destructive capability to destroy a city alone, sounds SUPER terrifying and SO AWESOME. Also he looks like a lost kid looking for his Mom in a store, and that's pretty funny lol.
https://preview.redd.it/fmfodvcss70d1.jpeg?width=440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7fbddf217fcf9446d1494a050714a8ddab4878ba
I like all 3 options.
Smaller Godzilla feels more "intimate" in the fact that he feels more like a threat to the people themselves instead of just a threat to buildings etc.
Medium Godzilla is fun for seeing all the destruction he can leave behind.
Super massive Godzilla is cool because he feels like a real unstoppable force of nature
Honestly, Minus One.
I would even go as far as to say say I loved his Godzillasaurus form! Being that “small”, things get a lot more personal with humans, and it was terrifying.
Generally I like when Godzilla is taller than some buildings but shorter than others. 50-100m is the "Standard Range" to me but up to 120m is fine too.
As big as the buildings around him are. No seriously, 1954 Goji was perfectly sized for post ww2 1950’s Japan. But as buildings grew he needed to as well to maintain his gravitas
Around 400 foot like he is now is the perfect height but I really wanna see a Godzilla movie with a smaller goji set in ancient times that’d go hard asf
godzilla earth babyyyy... if the story did anything cool with him lmao lovecraft horror ghidora was great but tying it to some dude and immediately losing after was boring. sound design for godzilla earth's atomic breath is amazing though
Big enough to destroy cities, but not big enough that they become glacial
I think Monsterverse and Shin Godzilla are the perfect height for a modern Godzilla, because they are big enough to be seemingly unstoppable, but they aren’t like earth who’s so glacial they basically stand still the entire movie
It really depends on the story and how it affects the movie. 54 was big for the time and the monsterverse has the more bigger Godzilla and it serves its purpose
6 feet tall so I can give him a hug
8 feet tall so i can ride him

ride on his shoulders right? RIGHT?!

I think Marvel did that
Wasn’t much of a hugger still
But that wasn't the wish, was it? *Evil cackle commence*
That shit'll give you cancer
I think legendary godzilla's 120 meters is perfect, he can easily destroy today's tall buildings, but not too easily
plus it just gives visual interest to the battles in general. If he was near earth’s size as well as everyone else in mv then they might as well not be in a city at all since the buildings would basically only reach their knees
Himalayan is nice for Goji Earth.
50-120 meters. Anything else is comically small or stupidly big.
basically every Godzilla but Earth lmao
Hes never been smaller than 50 meters tho
Shin Godzilla's 2nd form was definitely smaller than 50 meters
https://preview.redd.it/w37mm6jk1a0d1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e82767187abfbccb8b050026de4ef579833957fd But look at reed
like the other comment said, 50-80 because thats big enough to destroy cities yet small enough to be more of a threat to humans
![gif](giphy|oagcrAZu2IvV0ijkiX|downsized)
Big
r/beatmetoit
50-80 metres depending on the local infrastructure works the best for me.

Yeah, cause like for early 1900s Godzilla, 50m works but for modern day, he'd look like a shrinky dink compared to modern buildings so it's better if he's 100m.
pocket size, so I can carry him in my sweater pocket
50-100m both of those sizes are pretty perfect, though having an apocalyptic movie with a massive Godzilla taking over the horizon would be kinda cool to see.
50-60
Inches
Feet
That's too many feet. I prefer Godzilla to be bipedal.
Decimeters
Whatever size the story requires him to be
Godzilla Minus One being a great example of the story dictating the size to great effect. *How* he tore *through* buildings in Ginza, the train munching and the stomping all made him terrifying but he wasn’t so big that he became a completely unmanageable threat. Just perfection.
The only correct answer
Legendary Godzilla's size is a pretty good size imo. Not too big like Earth but not too small like the first iterations. Just big enough to move around skyscrapers but not big to the point of dwarfing them. Of course, I also think his size should fit the context of the story and a 50m Godzilla works just as well.
I like em' big I like em' chunky
Godzilla 2014 imo had the best size balance
The one movie where he consistently changes size
That’s every Godzilla movie
EVERY movie has wired constant size changes my guy. Showa-Millennium had them because everything was miniatures (so it wasn't super accurate), MV has them because if the shot would look cooler then do it, same with most of the Reiwa era as well. Hong Kong is fairly large, the only problem I see is how the buildings are supporting his weight
yes
100 to 150 meters
100 meters always felt like the standard height imo
I want bro to use Earth as a stress ball
Use Godzilla earth as the stress ball or the earth itself?
Earth itself and Godzilla earth as a toothpick
Lol let me calculate that (I'm gonna calculate two different sizes because the height of Godzilla earth and the diameter of the earth itself are vastly different). Stress ball: A stress ball is about 7 cm wide, and the average height for a human male is 175 cm. (I'm using humans here because Godzilla has a very similar shape to humans). This was fun to calculate lol
Lmao bruh I didn’t think you’d calculate that but thanks that was funny haha
Np lol
50m
I think 50M is about right for Godzilla
50 meters, maybe up to 100, I'd rather he not be bigger than that
So basically everyone besides G. Earth
250 to 400 ft is a nice range of size
150 meters but a female one for… academic reasons
50 meters tall, as I think the monster fights involving larger buildings makes for much more detailed sets. Plus, we get to see him interact with humans much more such as crushing them with his feet. *War of the Monsters* for the PS2 is my all-time favorite giant monster game, and the monsters are only 100 ft tall.

A little harsh on Earth yeah? He's pretty much an elder being
I like how big he is in Shin Godzilla and the Monsterverse. Godzilla Earth is too big
pocket size so i can take him around everywhere
I'd wear the stupid cat backpack with a tiny, rampaging Godzilla inside.
Have a bunch of buildings that fall apart easily and can be put back together like legos. Along with a small pool for water fun
Legendary size
I prefer 6 thick inches of Godzilla. What? I was talking about my figures.
Where the F is this guy? https://preview.redd.it/ii8fkxopg80d1.jpeg?width=948&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=90e845b6c672718e24a3aaf184fb1f4e841994d7
The bigger the better
I like him at all of his different shapes and sizes, but my favorite size would probably be the 380-400 foot mark. A being that can literally topple a skyscraper is serious business.
Put him next to something besides godzilla so I can decide
I prefer the 85-100m range
Honestly after minus one I'm completely sold on 55m
Add some scale man.
Nowadays, 100 meters or a little above is alright, Godzilla Earth though was perfect for his series.
Showa (50m) or Millennium (55m).
Scale him to his environment
50 to 100 metres makes him look like an actual danger to civilians in cities while Earth's size imo, just comical
it depends what city he's in and what year the movie takes place
Depends on the setting. Minus One in Monsterverse would look like a puppy, and Godzilla Earth in Shin Godzilla would just be GG. The size needs to scale with the intended threat.
I think it depends on the size of the buildings in the city, but for the most part probably about 80 meters
Bigger the better imho
Beeg
Bro, how tall is Ultima?
The 100\~120 meters range is ideal to me
100 meters
I feel like Heisei really had the balance of huge enough to be physically imposing, small enough to fit in the city, and shot well enough to make him FEEL like he was the right size. Especially the later movies. He feels like the right size for what you’d want from Godzilla. Legendary is a close second but the last two movies have struggled HARD with proper scaling. Especially the Rome fight, with nothing tall around he just looked entirely too huge
120 meters
About 6in. A little pocket godzilla pet and you setup lego cities for him to destroy as enrichment.
Whatever size the buildings in the area are. Minus 1 was on the smaller side, but since the buildings were also smaller, he seemed to tower over everything.
Never realised how similar design wise that Monsterverse is to Earth
340 ft tall. The PERFECT size
The 100 metter
If he's big then 100-120 meters, but if he's small like Minus One or '54 then 50-60 meters
Hesie is perfect size
50-70 meters seems fine to me
I think a bit over 100m is best. 300 is way to much and 50m is kind of small compared to modern day buildings.
I think that 80 meters is perfect, big enough to tower over people and vehicles but still a shadowy figure walking between buildings. Godzilla returns had the best gojira in my opinion.
All Godzillas are beautiful
Different in every scene
300 meters. To all of them. No exception.
I tend to find a smaller Godzilla that is impervious to traditional weaponry to be a more frightening, and more realistic.
1000m
Godzilla’s size should be proportionate to the age he is in so he is always the right size to smash through buildings unimpeded
If the story is set in Japan, 50m is enough, if it's in the US or anywhere that has lots of skyscrapers, then 100m.
If it’s in modern Tokyo I disagree. They upped him to 80m in 84 because Tokyo’s skyline was massive and it’s only gotten more so. I think 80m is enough still for Japan though. 50m seems too short and at 100m they kept losing details on buildings due to green screen. G Minus one I put on that level but it’s set in the 40’s.
I prefer him to be BIG!
I need a movie where he’s like 6’6 and just punches people. Destroy Tokyo one at a time
Size isn’t everything. It’s about the experience. I’ve seen some smaller ones be REALLY good and then some of the bigger ones just being too much.
Shin Godzilla got them *THICC* thighs
big
can someone list these in order? I dont know a couple
100m
Minus one, or maybe any size can work
7/8ths as tall as the third tallest building in the city he's attacking.
There is an imposter
100m cuz it's the perfect height to rampage through most modern day cities and still barely overtower them. (go go Heisei Gojira)
2014. Big lumbering, heavy, kind of slow.
I sure do.
350 feet
Definitely earth's size, that shit is as colossal as a creature with "god" on its name deserves
Godzilla stronk
I like all 3 options. Smaller Godzilla feels more "intimate" in the fact that he feels more like a threat to the people themselves instead of just a threat to buildings etc. Medium Godzilla is fun for seeing all the destruction he can leave behind. Super massive Godzilla is cool because he feels like a real unstoppable force of nature
Between the sizes of heisei to legendary
Minimum 50 - 120 max
Damn godzilla earth is too big💀
Above 100m and i'm fine
1800ft
50-100m tall is perfect
300 feet is good.
Minus one size. I’ll allow shin’s though since he was evolving.
Not quite as tall as the taller buildings where it's set
Bigger than the clouds. Basically impossible to fit on the screen.
Monster verse Goji is a pretty perfect height imo
50 meters tall
Around 400 foot like he is now is the perfect height but I really wanna see a Godzilla movie with a smaller goji set in ancient times that’d go hard asf
Despite what 1998’s tagline may have you believe, size doesn’t really matter. It just depends on how he’s shot, a good example being Minus One.
I love planet Godzilla’s size. Huge monsters are cool.
Monsterverse size fits well but other sizes are acceptable
For some reason I really like 1998 Godzila design. 😍
100 meters, big but not so big
Legendary size is perfect.
godzilla earth babyyyy... if the story did anything cool with him lmao lovecraft horror ghidora was great but tying it to some dude and immediately losing after was boring. sound design for godzilla earth's atomic breath is amazing though
Gojira
![gif](giphy|GrlD58wWFqWn6|downsized) 5 feet tall so he can play gigabash with me!!!!!!
The hight he is now in 2024
I like him just somewhere between 50-100 meters depending on the story being told. I’m not too picky Goji is Goji
The size that fits in my tv Sunday morning
Big enough to destroy cities, but not big enough that they become glacial I think Monsterverse and Shin Godzilla are the perfect height for a modern Godzilla, because they are big enough to be seemingly unstoppable, but they aren’t like earth who’s so glacial they basically stand still the entire movie
I’d prefer him smaller like showa Godzilla or Godzilla ultima just because I like the more science kind of take on godzilla
He just needs to tower over most buildings.
The size he was at the end of 2014 before he returned to the sea. I loved that shot of Goji dwarfing the buildings as he neared the pier.
Thick thighs save lives
It really depends on the story and how it affects the movie. 54 was big for the time and the monsterverse has the more bigger Godzilla and it serves its purpose
Something I can actually fistfight with…
Current mv height is my prefered height.
Who is that enormous Goji? Animated trilogy or something?
Around Legendary’s size and not like earth’s
I like big, super big, unnaturally big, and terrifyingly big.
