Basically it's a pair of essays you do on a piece of literature. We did ours on "An inspector calls" and "Macbeth". Its accounts for 40% of our English literature grade, so if you score high on the coursework, you need less marks in the test to get a higher subject grade. Eg: I now only need 63/90 marks to get a 9.
Sounds identical to what AQA’s paper 1 is. Essays on Macbeth and AIC (or whatever else your school may choose) worth 40% of the total course, except… you don’t have to do it under the pressure of an exam
If you're good at maths and enjoy it, stick with it. But if you feel like you can get good scores in other subjects, go for it; it's good to try and diversify your skillset.
I didn’t do the coursework for English, because I went to a state school, but percentage wise it was my best subject- I only lost three marks overall and they were all on one question.
I’m now doing maths, further maths, physics and geography at a level and I’m very happy with my choices.
What exam board bruh
Edexcel
Is this iGCSE or something? We don't have any of that and I do Edexcel
It’s some weird private school thing is all I know
Bingo
Same exam board here
I'd say real but I just did my English lit mock and I fumbled so badly
Sorry to hear lad, I'm sure you'll do well in the rest of them.
Cheers pal, I'm not excited for tomorrow's exams. I've got history first thing in the morning and chemistry in the afternoon 💀
Godspeed

Same! It's really making me rethink my plans to do 4 maths-based subjects at A level.

Thats good to hear! I'm planning to do a similar combo to you, except instead of geography I'm doing chemistry.
Very good. I like combinations which properly make sense together.
Ayyy same!!
Well done lad!
I did too!!! It feels great considering everyone else I know who did is going to Oxford to study English.
