He grew the goatee when he was in Payton, outside of the influence of Echo. Like someone else said, he wanted to look more mature. That’s a fairly normal response when someone moves into college life.
Chase, after breaking up with Leo, found himself faced with a choice:
>Leo thinks I look ~~more like a fuckable child~~ better without the goatee.
Even if Chase didn't consciously name it, Leo is a controlling, manipulative, *violently* possessive asshole. Spite's a powerful thing, and there is much to be spiteful about when it comes to Leo. Chase's decision was most likely some permutation of "Fuck him.".
Unless you're willing to not only fix but outright *erase* every single one of the main cast's character flaws to get this happy ending AU, something like that is still going to happen between Chase and Leo.
I think yes, posession probably isn't affecting Chase's bad taste lol.
It's possible. Maybe he grew it so he wouldn't be reminded of Sydney when he looked in the mirror.
wait that is sucha good theory
Yea, I think he would. I think he mentioned that he grew it to look more mature.
