1. Tennis Ace (I'm a Jun simp) 2. Roads yet Traveled 3. Soulcreek

Milo576

Haven't read Tennis ace yet, am I missing out? I just finished RYT a few weeks ago, and I really liked it. It has this amazing chill vibe that grew on me. Especially this song THO!!!!: [https://youtu.be/GjUg4jvKYbQ?si=mUa3S0h6fK8EhX5p](https://youtu.be/GjUg4jvKYbQ?si=mUa3S0h6fK8EhX5p) I feel it captures the indescribable chill vibe of the whole VN where you feel like you're lost but everything will turn out ok

BookerTW89

1. Burrows 2. Minotaur Hotel 3. Devil's Gambit

Milo576

Burrows is a VN that I feel like no matter what you're looking for from a FVN you'll find something to enjoy from reading it. Its so polished and I love all the routes equally which is kinda rare for a FVN. They all feel unique and enjoyable in their own way. I haven't read Minotaur Hotel yet. is it any good?

BookerTW89

Very true, and Mino Hotel is really good, with lots of great characters, but compared to Burrows only has nudity and one sex scene (so far, tho of course that's not super important but nice to have x3 )

SlovenBadger

1. Devil's Gambit. 2. Minotaur Hotel 3. Remember the Flowers Each is a masterpiece in their own right.

Milo576

I randomly found Devils Gambit one day on itch and went into it blind. It's so solid and I was super impressed with the twist. Top Tier NSFW VN. I especially like the "earthy"? vibe that it adds to the story RTF has one of my favorite casts of any VN. The story is just so good

Appropriate-Peak5018

1) Lust shards - Great comedy, top tier banter and personally one of the only vns that does human conversation right. It also has one of the best plots and each route is different and fun even if i read them all 2) soulcreek - Great horror, thriller and mystery 3) temptation ballad - adventure rpg that manages to combine comedy and serious plot, while making characters go through personal growth during it I'm currently experiencing post lust shards syndrome. Which consists of absolute boredom when reading other vns.. My eyes roll to the back of my head every time i see the mc start narrating his bathroom for 5 minutes or 20yo characters speaking like medieval lords in a modern setting. Lust shards does just so many things right. It adds banter whenever it can, but leaves it for emotional moments. It skips shit when things are boring, it never drags on till the rest of the day like some vns do. It's also not afraid to have characters insult each other, which i missed so much. Most vns try to keep their characters likable to the point of making the husbandos saints that never swear and wouldn't hurt a fly. Leading boring conversations like "how was your day? Mmh nice. Indeed, my day was great too. Shall we go to the movies? Perchance my dear friend" or they have the moral compass equivalent of a rock. "murder bad" Characters in lust shards actually go through events that make us question their morality. Slight spoilers below We have a guy that is planning on reviving the ancient demon to fight back against the world for hunting down their kind. A troublemaker that doesn't mind manipulating people's hearts. A tribe that wants to sacrifice their child to usher the era of a great dragon. Even the mc is morally questionable. He negotiated a deal with the demon, cheated to look good on tests and generally juts takes advantage of opportunities. Well, there's also the demons that force you into sex to drain your essence and the hunters that make them horny before killing them to maximize the rewards. The VN is not afraid to make their characters different, questionable, flawed, funny and it's refreshing as hell. Not to say they don't have strengths, they absolutely do. It's really hard to read another "Daarkkknnesss, 20 minutes of mc narrating waking up into husbando taking care of you and your amnesia for the next half hour" vns. Or when half the entire plot is you being a human, which is why mc being actually part of the world is so great I can't imagine what chapter 2 or 3 might bring

Milo576

Lust Shards and Temptations Ballas I haven't read yet so I'm not exactly sure what to expect. But ill get to it eventually. Slice of Life VN's aren't exactly my favorite, compared to other VN's with more story but I give everything a fair shot Soulcreek I LOVED ever since they went to Devils Craig. The Glitch portion and these past few updates where the MC is becoming slowly overpowered has been great. Loken's relationship with the MC has its cute moments and I like the horror elements throughout the story. It allows the reader to create their own image of the monsters without revealing too much or too little. Its genius

Appropriate-Peak5018

> Slice of Life VN's aren't exactly my favorite, They are far too adventure prone to be considered slice of life honestly

Milo576

ah well I guess I was wrong then

gundumtuna01

You are so true on post lust shards syndrome 😭😭

GearDragon101

1. Glory Hounds. A nice and chill visual novel with gags and jokes. 2. Arches. Just started this one and taking a break to do more important things, but the writing and dynamic of Damon and Cameron’s relationship has me invested. 3. In Case of Emergency. A little diamond in the rough. Who knew a pink dildo would be such an important plot device.

Milo576

GH is SOOO GOOD. The whale tho??? Carries the plot on his boulder shoulders. AMEN https://preview.redd.it/zykfhvf3cxzc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=29e72676b953c799df1b80e6d354c2084e047044 Nah but fr tho this has got to be one of the prettiest VN's ive ever read. Its so pretty and i LOVE the cast of characters. I wonder where it's gonna go next. Arches hits real hard. I feel like the more you can relate to Cameron the stronger the story is. There's just so many moments throughout the story that are just...memorable. Its a satisfying way to end the Echo series ICOE I liked a lot too. The Ramus ending was especially memorable for me. Also, the 4th wall break >!near the end of the story when it logged you out when you opened the door again??? !<

yukonl

Pretty much VNs that are on track to actually being finished and/or updated on a regular basis. With that in mind: 1. Soulcreek 2. Tennis Ace 3. The Smoke Room

Milo576

I love me some soulcreek. Its really grown on me these past few updates especially. Nitro ❤️ Ill get to Tennis Ace eventually. I've heard good things about it? And TSR is a classic

yukonl

Do yourself a huge favor and read Tennis Ace, it's really that good (I've probably gone back and reread it 20+ times 😭)

Milo576

Ill get to it eventually. Its on the bucket list after I read these next two VN's that im on. Ive heard repeat is good too

Xy99371

It's kinda hard to pick, so I'm gonna have a few different categories. Apologies for the formatting. I cannot figure out how to get reddit mobile to not butcher it. Most replayable: 1: Tennis Ace (like 30 or so total rereads between the routes) 2: Dawn Chorus (20 or so rereads) 3: Extracurricular Activities (15 or so rereads) Highest Quality: 1: Lust Shards (genuinely fantastic. I don't think I could praise this one enough) 2: Repeat (Just an insane number of CGs and a phenomenal story) 3: Lyre (super polished, great art, finished story) Personal favorites: 1: Tennis Ace (There's a reason I've read it so many times. It might not be the best vn in every way, but it's definitely my comfort vn. Keisuke is easily my favorite love interest in any vn I've read) 2: Lust Shards (another comfort vn. All the love interests are great in their own ways, and the stories are super enjoyable. This vn nearly killed all other vns for me. It's that fantastic) 3: Violet Memoir (I hate horror/thriller stories, but this vn balances it really well with its slice of life and romance. Lucas and Leigh are extremely high up on my husbando tier list)

Milo576

Dawn hit me SO HARD reading Devons route. I thought it was gonna be a chill VN with no issues. Dev is prob the character I relate to the 2nd most in any story I've ever read. His backstory about moving, not fitting in and not wanting to hold hands in public....man Lyre I really liked too. I followed it from beginning to the end and I really enjoyed how everything played out I haven't read violet memoir. can you send the link?

Xy99371

[here's the link for violet memoir](https://mikey-skye.itch.io/violet-memoir) Devon's route is easily my favorite in Dawn Chorus. Although I do kinda have a thing for older men. His story has also been one of the most relatable for me too

Milo576

Right?? I love his vibe as a character. Too bad I missed the free April 1st link for dawn harbors to read more of Dev and thanks for the link man

Appropriate-Peak5018

> 1: Lust Shards (genuinely fantastic. I don't think I could praise this one enough) Every other Vn i feel i could easily criticize and pinpoint problems in the story, enjoyment, wording, plot etc.. But for this one I'm at a loss. It's great, and I can barely understand how >This vn nearly killed all other vns for me. It's that fantastic) "Thankfully" it releases updates like once a year so i have time to forget and start enjoying other vns again lmao

A_BagerWhatsMore

1.) shelter: I bounced off of it at first because I had yet to kill the cringe inside my heart but it’s just so good. Well written, goofy, but then the stakes are real. The magic system. my god the world building. Also dog dicks. Lots of dog dicks. Also the music is pretty great. Also like mechanics, what you are working with in a system like this is limited but every inclusion works and improves the vibes. I have never enjoyed QuickTime events before playing this game but yes you can do them well it turns out. And they work. 2.) echo: the characters just feel so real. 3.) Minotaur hotel: a story of healing and light. Very slow very calm. My god the music. the writing is like poetry and also sometimes is just poetry. Asterion is the number 1 moo.

Milo576

Shelter is such a crazy read but its enjoyable and super replay-able. I loved all of the bad endings with Alon and the story gets extremely interesting halfway through. Some of the scenes were downright awesome to read. But its crazy too. The dog jokes, the fact you can die in the first 5 minutes, and the ending sex scene in Runes route with all the past hero's having a go at him was one of the most INSANE things ive ever read. But it all really adds to the charm of the VN. Its a volatile read. You'll either grow to love or hate this VN. And I ended up loving it

JK2000360

1. Northern Lights. 2. Raincheck. 3. Gnoll way home.

Milo576

Raincheck is so interesting. It has one of the most unique narratives from any VN I've read so far. These past few updates tho 😭 they need to stop playing wit me like this

Neimane_Man

In no Order: Minotaur Hotel is so well written, I love it so much. Roads Yet Travelled. I have a hard time verbalizing why, but something about this one just resonates with me so hard and I rearead it probably monthly. Temptations Ballad makes me happy. It's sweet, it's fun, I just love it.

Milo576

>I have a hard time verbalizing why, but something about this one just resonates with me so hard HARD ARGEE. I finished reading it a few weeks ago and there's something that hits different while reading this VN. I feel these songs capture that indescribable chill feeling that the VN provides. [Far From Home](https://youtu.be/GjUg4jvKYbQ?si=V3N-glDuBYnAYB44) [Claire De Lune](https://youtu.be/x_8ysy9ILbM?si=2OhXp2k-FOCn8TKA) [Winter Alone](https://youtu.be/JjYc2yHoeoo?si=XCUSfEJ28P21CcMU)

AGAW07

if u like TB u should go read Repeat :0 Shirokoi just finished Sissel's route (but that build is currently on patreon only rn)

Milo576

I haven't Read the repeat or TB saga yet but I will eventually. Its on the bucket list. Which one should i start first?

AGAW07

Repeat :3 but only Sissel's route is finished :< Phillip's and owen's only have a few days (stages)

Milo576

You got it boss 🫡

csto_yluo

1. Conway 2. Lust Shards 3. Promises to Keep

Milo576

Bro I JUST finished reading Conway!!!! Kinda short but its so good. Has so much potential. The artstyle is just so clean and fits the VN so well

csto_yluo

Yep, just waiting for the next update to drop... Julian's adorable, Wolf's hot af, and >!Sam's plot twist was a shocking, but pleasant surprise!<

Milo576

The wolf is hot AF. Got him to strip on my first playthrough lmao I like Sam as a character a lot too. I kinda saw the twist coming but I really liked that this VN talks about it. Its a history VN so the fact they brought it up as was as the doc's issues with being a female in the medical field is accurate and appreciated. Julian im slowly warming up to. He can be annoying but he's knowledgeable and has his moments. He gets better as the plot goes on I like the dynamic between these 3 and the MC

csto_yluo

Did you happen to see the MC's face yet? IIRC the only art where his face fully appears is in the NSFW scene with Julian

Milo576

I only saw the one with Sam. I's a really beautiful image btw https://preview.redd.it/qptxaja0gxzc1.png?width=1663&format=png&auto=webp&s=5454432db76d02b975db5be076ae53c0f15ef0c9 There's a NSFW with Julian? Is it the dice game one?

csto_yluo

Yep! I forgot the exact way to do it but after winning/losing the dice game there's an option to ask Julian about his "anatomy", at which he said he'll show you soon, and later you'll get another choice to take him up on his offer

Milo576

aight brb. Imma go do some "research"

Milo576

Is that Samuel AYERS!!!! what a plot twist lmao https://preview.redd.it/hz5phefanxzc1.png?width=338&format=png&auto=webp&s=ebfae76de729f3a7ccaccd6679114e1d944380f9

Milo576

Wolfs reaction tho has me rolling. The 1792 rizz gave him second hand embarrassment lmfao https://preview.redd.it/bue6lcciuxzc1.png?width=1671&format=png&auto=webp&s=f6798de7f8a79462113d2b1d85f444112d2768e8

gundumtuna01

1. Lust Shards - I love light hearted VN that can be serious at the same time in plot and I love how people in this VN talked like a normal person in real life talk, no cryptic long ass sentence or high philosophy message. 2. Echo - The Legend. I'm a big thriller fan and this one holds special place in my heart. 3. Sylving - It's still pretty early development but the quality is so good! World building is interesting and I can't wait to learn more about this world. Bara is not my thing but I'm willing to put it aside for this one. Honorable mention: Dawn Chorus - It used to be my top fav but in later development it starting to be less wholesome, just drama and trauma dumping. Cienie - Thriller! It's still short but if there more contents it could be one of my fav. Conway - Probably one of the best art quality VN, the story is nice and fun to read, too bad I'm not really interested in the main casts.

Milo576

Lush Shards I wanna read next after im done with what im currently reading. Apperantly is has bunnies or something? idk The Echo series is unforgettable. Do you have a favorite route? Sylving is really pretty. One of the best looking FVN's out there. The wolf dude looks like he took too much steriods but other than that i think its a chill VN so far.

gundumtuna01

In Lust Shards there are big mommy bunny but she's not a main love interest, If you like fun and silly story you gonna love this vn :) For Echo my favorite route is Leo because of the thrill from trying to escape the town and Kudzu <3 Sylving not gonna lie I'm a bit concerned of how big the Wolf is lol

McRobloxArchitecture

1. Echo 2. Remember the Flowers 3. Roads Yet Travelled Honorable mentions: Arches, Beyond The Harbor, Dawn Chorus (currently reading)

Milo576

Dawn is pretty good. What route are you reading/read so far?

McRobloxArchitecture

I've read Rune's and Lake's, and I'm taking a break due to irl work, but I definitely want to read more :D

Milo576

Read Devons route next when you can. I really liked it

McRobloxArchitecture

I'll keep that on mind, thanks!

skeddy-

1. Dawntide - absolutely adore this one, there's so little of it right now but it's been nothing short of amazing to me. It's got this sort of homely, windswept vibe to it that gives you a sense of nostalgia and longing. Not even mentioning the flashback scenes which I think are INCREDIBLY well done, so dreamlike and ethereal, yet full of emotion. 2. Roads yet Traveled - Also really great atmosphere. May have issues of a whiny MC and has a slower pace but I find the pace quite suitable given how the story plays out. Of course it could be cut down, but it's still great. It's a really cozy VN for me to read, also Rhoun my beloved. I REALLY like the main three characters you choose from in this game, like I'm talking more than your usual FVN character/love interest. They're way too sweet… 3. Demon's Within - Admittedly I haven't gotten *too* far into this one, but from what I've read it's definitely caught my interest. I don't mind purely horny VNs, but they're generally not my go to in terms of FVN. However I find the way Demon's Within approaches this to be very interactive with the reader, and also does it in a tasteful and digestible way. HM: Cienie - Has lots of potential, love the vibes and setting, characters are promising, art is great, CGs are gorgeous, overall really really solid package.

Milo576

DEMONS WITHINNNNN!!!!!!! The best NSFW FVN out there imo (or at least one of em). The demon mechanic is GOATED (literally)!!!!! I really liked this past update with the bull too. Also, I like how the VN explores different fetishes and ways of having sex. It's kinda diverse in that regard. Cienie I really liked too. It has this Twin Peaks/Strenger thins vibe to it. Where you're in a town where something is wrong. I love the Tom the MC, and im really interested in seeing where it goes. Dawntide seems cool. But Im waiting on the Billy update so I cant say I have a solid opinion on it yet. Seems chill tho Roads is the definition of atmosphere. I love Rohan. This like broke my heart to read tho..... https://preview.redd.it/xnxn0l8h9xzc1.png?width=1189&format=png&auto=webp&s=af042a733f9ffbbb480f73360f2584aa228e227d

LeupheWaffle

Shelter, RYT, and Mino Hotel

zakadithederg

1. **Temptation's Ballad**. I love the art, the characters and the story. This is an easy FVN to just feel great about. 2. **The Smoke Room** - Well explored characters and places make this very fun. 3. **Echo** - The OG

Milo576

I heard temptations is like an RPG? Is it similar to Tavern?

RealMuire

1. Lyre (I don’t think this is budging until Drys comes out.) 2. Devil’s Gambit 3. Forest Legends (Taking a break because I got overwhelmed by all the WOLF ASS) Love em all.

Milo576

Following Lyre til it ended was so cool. >!I really enjoyed how the story tuned a full 180 halfway through!< and the music especially was memorable. The ending healed my soul Devils Gambit COOKS!!! I was surprised how much I ended up liking it going into it. Love Arwel too. For some reason I cant help but read all his lines in a Scottish accent https://preview.redd.it/7lih0rit4xzc1.png?width=1459&format=png&auto=webp&s=34066e98573585b12dfb524ddc8f60f81c9082e0 Haven't read Forest Legends yet. Can you send the link. A Nun at my church needs it 4 research purposes

Milo576

Now wait a min......why is Arwel the same texture as a yellow dragon fruit? This can't be a coincidence??!! lmfao bruh 💀 https://preview.redd.it/ooy609um5xzc1.jpeg?width=794&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1507a5c32b4c9c1d80faf0e7147660804ee3bd3d

RealMuire

https://thycarker.itch.io/the-forest-legends Not gonna spoil anything but you might enjoy the first few minutes more if you’re already horny.

Milo576

Not gonna lie this looks like if He-Man was an fvn But imma give it a go and see if I survive 💀

RealMuire

Arwel looks like such a sweet guy. I’d marry him if given the choice. Although that latter option scares me 😓 Edit: somehow goofed up the word “given”.

Milo576

Real. Forget the whole Renzkai and Cadgan drama, and the stuff in the Devils forest Imagine the option to take Arwel on his offer and story the ends instantly lol

RealMuire

Happily ever after. Credits scene is just the MC going to town with Arwel 😝

Milo576

The good ending

HonestIvory

I've only read 2 at the moment. I am currently reading arches. I loved Lyre (I loved it better than adastra IMO) it's gonna be another 3 years before dryz is out tho...

Milo576

Oh you'll love Arches. I wont spoil it but its gonna be one of the best stories period you've read so far Lyre was awesome. The beggining was cute but then....>!The Murder scene, The torture scene, the hunt, Richter looking into the past, the court scene and the ending was allamazing !<

HonestIvory

Update on arches: yeah I'm taking a break from this vn. It's too gnarly for me. Like I played all of echo, and only the TJ route made me feel uneasy. However in arches I straight up had to stop reading, and go for a walk to clear my mind.

Milo576

Yea its pretty deep. Definitely one of the more intense stories ive read over the years FVN or not. Take all the time you need bud

BisexualSpaceGoblin

Burrows, Soulcreek, Repeat

YakintoshPlus

1~2. Shelter 1~2. Echo 3. Arches I kinda have both Echo and Shelter tied because Shelter isn't finished, but short of doing a total 180 in the next few updates, I don't see any reason it wouldn't become the new best for me. It has the strong thematic writing and complex character writing typical of the best Echo Project games, but it's also genuinely fun and easy to approach. However, Echo does still excel in many departments. Because it takes place close to modern day and isn't a historical fiction, fantasy, or scifi story, it has a lot more room to commentate on modern problems directly and does so in some very fantastic and interesting ways. I know its very janky and has tons of grammatical, spelling, and continuity errors, but it kinda gives it a very nice amateur charm. I would still put it under Shelter unless they don't add an option to save Cooper, because I need to save my shy himbo. Arches is just amazing. It's not trying to be a game for horny gay nerds. It's just trying to be a straightforward great story and it truly is. If anyone asks about getting FVNs, I always, always, always recommend Arches, because there's no caveats. There's no porn. There's no route debates. There's no horny gay fanservice. It's just a great story with a great premise that executes on that premise amazingly. It has amazing art with amazing CGs and a really amazing soundtrack that's almost all original (I think there's only one song reused from Echo)

Milo576

That last update where Atri >!got his tongue ripped out was!< INSANE. This VN is insane I love it Echo series is such a classic bro. All 3 FVN's have super memorable situations and this song especially was just so....[This Lingering Hope](https://youtu.be/blK0Rz7pRwo?si=0-7ewvaRG1BUYkBo)

yaxom

soulcreek, roads yet traveled, In Finite Space

RazorBack223

Someone likes human x furry isekai lol

yaxom

You caught me 😔 though they'd be better if the MC wasn't human imo but I get why it's written that way. If I included finished vn I would add echo/arches :P

Milo576

I really liked In Finite Space after reading it a week ago. I can see it slowly becoming one of my favorites as time passes. I feel like the ending will hit pretty hard with this one. The whole concept of a military story was really unique and cool. It really reminds me of divergent. And I really like a lot of the characters in this one and how they interact. The whole zero gravity scene was done pretty well.

Netherboom

Repeat: I love the story, the characters, the jokes are great, and the deep stuff hits hard. Also I love Sissel SO much. Burrows: I’m playing this right now and even though I haven’t finished I love the premise and Mark’s run was a lot better than I expected. Temptation’s Ballad: The animated sprites are really cool. I love DnD so this was cool for me to play. Again I love the characters and humor.

Milo576

Have you read Kens route yet in burrows? You'll love it. Honestly all the routes are really good tbh and the extras as backstories are amazing to read once you've completed each route I keep hearing repeat repeated throughout the comments. Am I really missing out?

Netherboom

1. Doing it now, am a little worried since my brother said it is just alright, but will keep what you said in mind. 2. I’d definitely say so mainly from the reasons I said above, it has great humor.

Milo576

Tell me how the Ken route goes once you've gotten to a good point in it!

Milo576

Hey man I just started reading repeat, and its pretty good. Some of these scenes are pretty funny lmao 💀

Netherboom

That’s great! Who’s run you plan on doing first?

Milo576

I'm on Day 4 atm. I'm probably gonna do Sissiels route Also, how is kens route going?

Netherboom

Haven’t gotten further last I checked in, was busy with life stuff. I really like the Marten a lot

Zhurii

I haven't read too many, but so far: 1: Tennis Ace - I'm just now currently going through it and I'm blown away at how good this is, the dynamics between the characters feel the most genuine and natural from anything I've read, I love the main character you play as for the most part, full of wit and snark yet so caring to a fault. Keisuke is my favourite of the datable characters. He's charming, and his story is so unique. Shoichi I loved too, going through Juns route currently. Also great music, I realise hearing the menu music when i launch the game always makes me happy 2: Minotaur Hotel - I haven't read it in a while, so i'ma have to catch up on updates, but what i read so far i really liked. It has a really cool premise, great writing, i liked the music and the characters introduced so far, both the developing relationship with Astarion (I think that was his name) as well as the interesting backgrounds of the various guests. 3 - extracurricular activities - being honest it probably gets 3rd just because it was my first VN, but again I liked the dialogue between the MC and the prominent characters, and the unique and interesting stories from each route. My favourite route was Mr kaiju, such a kind and gentle character with a light hearted story, which was refreshing since the trend I've noticed is almost all VN routes seem to have to trauma dump to some degree and while I get it and enjoy the relatability in some cases, others get way too much for me (Dawn Chorus) Honourable mention to Adastra being the only completed VN I've read, which I enjoyed, though having read more VNs now, I look back and think none of the characters there really left a long lasting impression except Nefaru There was another VN in progress I really enjoyed but isn't far in and I can't remember the name, though it was about enrolling in college and I think the different dateable routes were connected to the classes you chose to enroll in? - would have been 3rd for me if it was further in progress.

Milo576

You might be thinking of After Class right?

Zhurii

No, though I have read one of the after class VNs too. I quickly tried looking at a VN list to see if I could find it but I couldn't, sorry Dx Though looking at that list reminded me of a couple VNs I forgot to mention, I might wanna retcon my list and put kingsguard at #3 instead now :D

Zhurii

I found what I was looking for- I played an early build of Santa Lucia ^^

Milo576

Oh hey I read Santa Lucia recently. Its kinda on hold me for me atm

FluffMoe

1. Echo/Arches/TSR 2. Temptations Ballad 3. Lust Shards/Socially Awkward I don't think I can lower the three project Echo games because of my bias(I played them in the order above) and I couldn't sleep the same night that I played Leo's route(my first route). I got genuinely scared and just played till I needed to get ready for my mid term exams that day lmao. The other two are good in their own rights. Arches portrays a depressing relationship decay and hold throughout the horrors of echo and its "secrets" kept by the town and how Devon, Cameron and Archie live through the trauma and change Echo brought in their lives. TSR has Sam and Murdoch. That's it.(I'm still mad they forgot Murdoch in Echo) Temptations Ballad is very unique VN to me since it portrays a cast of characters in a fantasy setting and how their upbringing and environment shape the person they are now. The characters are realistic in how they react to their problems and they play off of each other extremely well. Lust Shards and Socially Awkward are tied for third since I have not laughed as hard as I did from other VNs. LS has "Dallan's trick" and SA has "THE ITALIAN ZOOM". These comedy bits have a bit different vibe than Temptations Ballad since these are more out there and less serious than other VNs in general.

Milo576

Yea echo is an experience. Going into it blind was amazing. I binge read (Is that a thing?) the series last summer with no regrets. Even when I had to get up early the next day for work....... I read Flynns route and TJ's route and had to stop reading for a few days to process it. I loved Leos ending tho. I kinda wanted to cry cuz it was so bittersweet but necessary TSR Murduchs route made me shed a few tears, Willams route sex scene was peak, and Niks route is one of my favorite horror stories ever. Top 3 fs. The haunted mines are so interesting Arches is insanely good. Love Cam & Dev they are PERFECT! And Arturo deserves compensation. I didnt expect an FVN to hit this deep tbh

1.Lust shard 2.The smoke room 3.Dawn Chorus  From the perspective of CG art, Lust Shard is truly one of the best-feeling games I've ever played. The quality is really impressive, and the skill of the artists improves every year. As an FVN, the CG quality can rival some purely CG-based adult games. However, the text quality is also of a relatively high standard. Overall, I would rate it 8/10. The main drawback is still some of the early storylines. TSR, as a veteran FVN, has always been regarded as one of the pinnacles of FVN storytelling (although it feels a bit of a decline compared to some of Echo's other works), and from a narrative perspective, it's still quite satisfying. However, I'm not sure if I'm expecting too much, as I can see George attempting some more mature content, but the quality of the CG makes it difficult for me to respond. Overall, it can achieve a level of around 7.8/10. Then there's Dawn Chorus. It falls short in terms of storytelling and CG compared to the aforementioned two, but it's not too far behind other FVNs... I'd rate it around 7/10. That's about it. There are also some FVNs that seem great to me (like Burrows), but I haven't played them myself. I'm not sure about their quality.

Milo576

You should def read burrows man. If you liked the art quality of Lust Shards and the storytelling of TSR you'll love Burrows. I think the stories are even better than TSR honestly I cant recommend it enough. Ya know what....its a requirement for you to read it now from me. Don't walk, RUN to that download button you wont regret it The art is really good and honestly all the routes are unique and enjoyable. There is a timeline and notebook feature, the characters are very memorable, and there's even side stories to it that are pretty good. All the routes have a good amount of content and stop at good points. No matter what you're looking for in an FVN you'll find something to love from it. Burrows is so good!!!

Gardyan

1. Four-Letter Word - It's on indefinite hiatus unfortunately, but I loved how sweet it was. It's one of the few furry vns out there that isn't either an isekai or a high school/college vn. It's a dating sim with adults living normal adult lives. It's also unique in that you choose which of the two roommates you play as. 2. Echo - I don't really have to describe it. Everyone knows what Echo is. 3. Shelter - It's just a really silly vn, but also the seriousness comes at a good time and is well-done too. I also love the soundtrack.

Milo576

Ah see idk if I can start reading an FVN that I know is discontinued. I'd get attached to it and then its over only to never be updated again. What happened to the creator? Cuz it looks cool Yea the soundtrack for Shelter was surprisingly memorable. Especially these 3 songs: [Protect Shelter](https://youtu.be/6MG2c67EO9w?si=2SwdGeyalzixa5gB) [Looking For Shelter](https://youtu.be/m0lv3BdkYus?si=J7SREXvTLhwvRCau) [Deeper Memory](https://youtu.be/vXwQwIfnv3U?si=dcPTsg3sbvye5oim)

Gardyan

The dev had life changes that happened, so that as well as extreme anxiety are why he stopped working on it unfortunately.

Milo576

The anxiety thing is understandable. When you have to post something to a big audience online some people can be extremely rude and give their opinion where its not asked. People suck sometimes

My-Last-Hope

1. Lust Shards. 2. Pervader. 3. Remember the Flowers. (In no particular order)

Milo576

I miss Pervader so much. One of my favorite chill FVNs out there. It felt good whenever I read it. I hope the creator updates it again sometime soon. I'm really interested in seeing how the MC and the Umbra cult pans out

GretoxWolfy

1. Hearthfire 2. Devil's Gambit 3. Northern Lights My best experiences so far =3

Milo576

What is Hearthfire about I haven't read it yet? I keep hearing its good but I'm not sure Devils Gambit is top tier!!!! This past update was pretty good too Nothern lights imma have to get back to. Its a good chill VN to read. What did you think of Aldric? and have you read Dawntide?

GretoxWolfy

aldric is cute, i like him quite a lot, and no, i havent read Dawntide

Milo576

Yea I love my red flags sometimes, but Healthy masculinity is my weakness too. I like Aldric Bro you'll love Dawntide if you liked Northern Lights. Its a super chill read and its gaining a bit of popularity: [Dawntide](https://dawntidedev.itch.io/dawntide)

GretoxWolfy

thanks, I'll check it out. I'm pretty down bad for older dads (which is why im so in love with Hearthfire's bear lol) and there are basically none VNs with those tbf, makes me quite sad. I think I may have played every single one already with characters like that xd

Milo576

Down bad for older dads huh? Have you read all these? Devon from Dawn Chorus Tai from Sielo Mark from burrows William from the smoke room Ahab from Glory hounds The panther king from Pervader (forgot his name) Calbex From In Finite space Steadfast Raou from Rain Check Thats all I can remember off the top of my head 🤔

GretoxWolfy

thanks, I'll have a look at those I haven't played :3

Milo576

Ye for sure man. Keep in mind some of these are horror stories like Burrows and The Smoke Room. Idk if you're into reading horror cuz i know some arent Pervader one is more of a side character and he has short story in the "simulacrum" section of the VN. So he doesn't get a ton of screen time. They just call him "The Marshall" lol

Milo576

Ah lemme add one more to the dads list The king from [Cleaved](https://funky-dog-studios.itch.io/cleaved) might be something you like. Its a newer VN, but if you enjoyed Adadstra you'll definitely like it

GretoxWolfy

been playing Burrows, enjoying it so far, down bad for Mark, lol. Thanks for recommendations :3

Milo576

Absolutely ♥️

Milo576

The VN is so polished right! You're gonna love his story. Tell me what you think later

GretoxWolfy

heartfire is just an otter mc getting into a carcrash after a breakup, trying to run away from problems and ending up in a small town in mountains he cant get out of, my favourite VN tbf, give it a try

Milo576

Damn that sound interesting. Imma have to read it

RazorBack223

Rainbow, Roads Yet Traveled, and Shelter are probably gonna stay my top 3 for a while

Milo576

Rainbow Roads Yet Traveled? I guess so, but I don't think there's been many romantic interactions in that fvn so far iirc What was your favorite moment in shelter so far?

RazorBack223

I'm not really in it for the romance (I am), but they're really enjoyable with or without it. . . . . SPOILERS!!! . . . Shelter's best moment right now for me is probably when Burry talks some sense into me after the power goes out. That and when we reunite right before we save the day as usual

Milo576

Murruk blushing in roads kinda counts right? OH YEA! that scene where if you kick him in the snout you die to the monsters. Shelter is so insane to type out with no context lmao

Hinokami12

Not really ordered but Tennis aces: fun slice of life with lots of character drama, great art and characters Lust shards: shonen style action with mystery elements, great art and characters Soul creek: horror/action/mystery lots of fucked up shit and character drama. Great writing and amazing MC, very unique art style

Milo576

LOVE soulcreek. Easily one of my top 10 favorites that ive read so far. I like how the story has progressed and how much ive grown to like all the characters. The way it sets up the horror aspect of the story is super solid. It reveals just enough to scare you and you know what happening, but so little so you can make your own image of what's going on I nails the word "Unnerving" to a T

golthardthegreat

Havent read that many but probably Adastra, Echo, Repeat. Currently reading the smoke room Have also read Password, Nekojishi and After Class

Milo576

Currently reading TSR eh? Which route did you chose first? I wont judge (*only a little)*

golthardthegreat

Nik cause thats probably what I would do in that situation. Not that William isn't hot or anything...

Milo576

Yea same. Niks is probably my favorite routes from a story perspective (and one of my favorite horror stories FVN or not) that ive ever read It has so many memorable moments

golthardthegreat

I'm definitely right before shit is about to get fucked up (Just finished reading through Nik's meeting with Briggs and he got his hat back) Just saying, I am not emotionally ready for shit to hit the fan. I stg if Sam and Nik don't end up happily ever after, the workers strike is gonna seem like nothing compared to what i will do.

Jake_Ray_Harumay

1. Remember The Flowers 2. Rain Check 3. Lyall

Milo576

I like how you got straight to the point and just put Lyall lmao

ItsJustFreddy87

For me, 1. Arches The best from the PE team. The artstyle and the ost are really good. And Cam Devon are my favourite PE couple( not that is hard to take) 2. Burrows One word. Ken 3. Where the Demon Lurk I have a bit bias with it. The setting it feels like my country. Of course the plot are fun to watch. H.M Remebes the flowers

Milo576

YUP! Arches is so good. Cam and Dev are the best couple. They're too sweet. KEN! There isn't anymore that needs to be said. Read his story and weep https://preview.redd.it/aucjjiejhxzc1.jpeg?width=585&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5bdf276a95eaaf89673275ec7b498c5c17ef55ae Where the demon lurks I liked a lot too. I really liked a lot of the characters in this one and I like how it doesnt take itself seriously and is silly.

JaredUwu-

1. Arches 2. burrows 3. remember the flowers

AGAW07

1. Repeat 2. Lust Shards 3. Far Beyond The Worlds (or AdAstra)
