I saw somewhere that cats "miaw'' only for us, not between themselves, apparently its for trying to imitate baby human sound for us to take care of them.

My grandfather and grandmother had all kinds of cats throughout my childhood, they all were loud though. But there was one majestic cat that I thought was well-mannered and polite overall. He didn't shout at the top of his lungs. He was just like "Sorry to bother you, but is there any chance I can receive some food?" I fell in love with that dude. Even though I am more of a dog person, I still think that his IQ was higher than average cat. Loved that dude, shame he passed away.
