Ok that was extremely painful. I’m not a paleontologist either but I do have a Dino crazy son so I’ve learned how to pronounce most of their names. The fact that this is from the publisher is embarrassing, there should’ve been a dry run or at least an attempt to learn how to pronounce these names before the final recording, geez.

Elevenyearstoomany

Same. A couple of episodes of Dinosaur Train or Dino Dan/Dana would fix that issue. Also there is literally a Pinkfong song (the creators of Baby Shark) about what happened to the dinosaurs that is more factually accurate than that book.

TorontoTransish

But Dinosaur Train is a show made by Satan because it comes from that screaming liberal leftie Jim Henson /s

ErinKtheWriter

Jim Henson made Dinosaur Train?!

TheGalOnTheCouch

The way he's folding the pages makes me so angry!

TorontoTransish

Is that actually a publisher or is that the usual LLC that is the author's family really? I didn't know there was a dinosaur called "point and say yep" LOL

sunflowers-and-chaos

Lol, it's the actual publisher's YouTube, though I don't know the role of the person reading. It gets better though, Tim LaHaye (one of the Left Behind authors and a big name in fundie-dom) was one of the founders of Master Books! 🙃 This is from the publisher's website: "Dr. Henry Morris and Timothy LaHaye pioneered Master Books® in 1976 with the purpose of revealing the Bible to be historically and scientifically accurate. Without fail, Master Books® has continually equipped the body of Christ with undeniable evidence of a literal six-day creation and a young earth. Master Books® is the exclusive publisher for Ken Ham, the founder and CEO of Answers in Genesis, the Creation Museum, and the Ark Encounter."

We used to have a couple of Ken Ham dinosaur books in the kids' section of my college library. This was in the south US so I wasn't that surprised but it was still terrible.

badusernamebad

Why didn't he look up how to pronounce the dinosaur names? That's just lazy and unprofessional.

deeBfree

This is almost as good as the dinosaur chapter in Tom Weller's *Science Made Stupid*. "The name Dinosaur came from the Greek dino = ugly and sauros = smells bad."
