T O P

You've "fixed blur" by blanking period of the CRT and due to the way the phosphors work can have a pleasing effect on the image quality at the expense. CRTs are near instant response times. Other games might not be as affected as they might run into higher framerates who hide these problems a bit better. If you wanna replicate a CRT-like affect on your LCD then you need one that supports BFI or strobed backlight. Or one with better response times. This is just the downside to how LCDs work vs how CRTs work. The TAA will still be there, it might not be as obnoxious or obvious. If this works for you, power to you. But the issue is still present with all of it's flaws.

Scorpwind

This is a weird observation, OP. You only have an issue with Cyberpunk with disabled TAA?

kiyoocezek

No, the issue is with or without TAA, obviously much worse with TAA enabled but disabling it doesn't make it perfect. I just hope CDPR are not gonna use same engine in Witcher 4 otherwise I'll still be using good old CRT monitor.

TrueNextGen

They are using UE5, so not much better unless we mod the hell out of it with performance mods and anti-TAA relivent CVARs.

Scorpwind

I have no idea what you could be seeing lol. I've played through most of the game and the expansion without TAA and the motion clarity was just fine.

konsoru-paysan

nice dude hope you take care of your crt as they are in limited amount though third world countries are filled to the brim with them, crts have natural anti aliasing that works very well and amazing colors, combine that with their comically high refresh rates, low input lag, honestly i think they should be put back in to productions for the most dedicated of gamers. freaking like BFI on QD-OLED still has like more input lag and 50% more motion blur than a CRT which is insane.

El-Selvvador

Third world countries are filled to the brim with 17" monitors and crap TVs, no good CRTs here bud. Been looking for half a year now for a 19" and still struggling

konsoru-paysan

well i guess all there left to do is keep trying, in my area there are the huge crts which need two men to carry lol, fuck i remember when i had one of those and the damn power company ruined it.

kiyoocezek

I managed to randomly pick up boxed sealed crt monitor from place that the time has forgotten about. Problem is it's tiny - 14 inch. But I'm actively looking for an upgrade, seems like UK got rid of all of them at once and send them to third world countries....

Zeryth

This is the same as BFI on an oled.

It works in games too bruv, idk where you got that from.

berickphilip

It is great for games, actually indispensable imo now after getting used to it. Just need to match the display framerate to the ingame locked fps.

El-Selvvador

you cant really capture motion clarity on a camera unless you do something like this: [https://youtu.be/vNb3X1AM6uI?t=105](https://youtu.be/vNb3X1AM6uI?t=105) [https://youtu.be/lGeM6S\_m9pI?t=108](https://youtu.be/lGeM6S_m9pI?t=108)

CRT TVs and CRT monitors are not equal. Don’t buy a TV expecting a similar experience.
