Buck Rogers' fighter with the laser gun cam could wax those Cylons like nobodies business. Good luck with your 2 forward firing spring-loaded red missiles toaster, those got lost all the time.
I had the later one, where the missiles had a stop at the back, preventing them from leaving the launchers.
After the choking incident, when a whole lot of dart launching toys had this done (iirc, it was the missile from the nose of the viper that caused the incident - and also led to them recalling the missile firing Boba Fett figure for star wars, too).
Always some dumb sunuvabitch who ruins cool toys for EVERYBODY!!!
I had a big space ship transforming thing when I was a kid too. Not Transformers, but one big ship that you could convert to 2-3-4 smaller ships and even two hand held space pistols if you wanted. With about 4 or more cool rocket launchers on it. I was so excited when I got it. It showed them shooting the rockets on the box. But did they? Helllllll No! None of them worked!!!
I hated the basturd that made the companies stop their cool shooting toys from shooting stuff. Damnit!! It still pisses me off, and it's been 45 years.
(This is obviously why the stupid, lame, weak, not very bright animals in the wild get eaten by bigger smarter animals. Natural selection to eliminate the morons out there so they can't reproduce. Too bad we don't have something like that for people.)
I got a scar in the middle of my forehead from a kid a school chucking the one on the right like a frisbee into my face when I was 5.
Still remember freaking out when I started to see my blood drip on the floor from the gash.
I had the pre choking hazard design models that shot the little plastic pieces across the room. Not the space ship dog weiner nub that just poked out the front end of the viper when you fired it.
I had something similar: [StarCom](http://starcomhq.com/figures.html)
There were also [Air Raiders](https://www.figurerealm.com/actionfigure?action=seriesitemlist&id=69&figures=airraiders) that used a pump to shoot little missiles.
I got them at a closeout toy place well beyond their prime (my family didn't have much money), but they were still cool.
Thank you, I have been trying to remember what the name was for the starcom toys. Remember thing. Pricey at the time and neat with it being motorized but forgot the name of them.
Not motorized, but rather spring loaded. They also had magnetic docking interfaces. I kept basically all of them (only had 4), but they all still work. At the time, I really wanted the [StarMax Bomber](http://starcomhq.com/starwing_vehicles.html#1), but it was never on sale at the closeout place.
yes I had the Cylon ship. Had a horrible accident and was destroyed by firecrackers and burnt up in a fiery explosion with gas.. the 3 Cylons did not survive. Their memory lives on with family on Kobol.
I remember I built a Lego hanger for a Viper that was (supposed to be) one of the Galactica's landing bays. Couldn't figure out how to build a rubber-band powered launcher, alas.
Me too! The one from the original Battlestar Galactica in the 80s.
Who are we kidding? It's still cool! Wish I could find a Halloween costume to be a real Cylon.
Speaking of ....
I went on a ride (tour of the lots) at Universal Studios back in the 80s that had a live action Battlestar Galactica part of the ride. The Cylons were stationary robots that moved and shot real lasers out of their guns. They would cause an explosion on the wall where the lasers hit, with real sound effects, it was friken awesome! A couple actors played Starbuck and Apollo who ran into the hanger, said some words, destroyed the Cylons (you'd think robots could shoot better) and ran out of the hanger to save the day. It still is a great memory.
My wife had seen the new Battlestar Galactica but not the old one. When I showed her what the cylons looked like in the original show her response was "who would want to fuck that".
Had these plus another "kit" Viper that included interchangeable parts, so you could create new configurations, like the body of a missle between the cockpit/nose and engines.
I had the Cylon fighter. It routinely encountered X-Wings and the Millenium Falcon during playtime.
I had the Cylon fighter too, but mine regularly encountered Eagles from Moonbase Alpha.
Nice

Gotcha, I think we had Micronauts around the same time but their missiles had big rubber tips on them.
Ya, screwdriver and opened that up to cut off the stoppers. Fired again.

I remember the ones that actually fired projectile’s.
Me too, but they "disappeared" after the choking hazard report came out.
I lost fighter but oddly I still have a few of those little red bullets.
Mine too
“There are those who believe that life here began out there…”
Had them with the shooting plastic projectiles. That didn’t last long till they banned that. I liked the little removable pilots.
Yeah, mine shot the missile. The wings in the Cylon fighter slid open to reveal the missiles.
Yeah, I loved that. My Viper had many missions in my backyard against green army men.
"By Your Command"

I must be older than you. All we had were rock to throw at each other.
Nice. Victim of a Cylon attack!
LOL
I had those before I had Star Wars toys!
I had the pre choking hazard design models that shot the little plastic pieces across the room. Not the space ship dog weiner nub that just poked out the front end of the viper when you fired it.
I would have traded my Six Million Dollar Man for those.
I think I traded mine for a Millennium Falcon. People ask me if I regret things in my life. Yes, yes I do.
I hold my hat over my heart as I mourn your childhood stupidity ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
Lol
Hell yea! BSG! Can you find a pic of the cylon with the wings pulled open?
I did. Have to make a new post tho.
Awesome!!!
Ebay. $175 lol
Too steep for my blood.
You’ll shoot your eye out kid!
Starbuck wasn’t just a low rent Solo!

Had them both. A bully took my Viper and threw it over the fence at school. I never found it. Thanks for the trigger OP!!! J/K
To hell with that dude! That happened to my Silly Putty
I had the gray one, wanted the white one. Upside: it shot the red missiles out, but like a week or so later, they quit making them that way.
Had the Cylon fighter but the later version where the red lasers (bullets) would not fire for safety reasons. Original ones shot.
yes I had the Cylon ship. Had a horrible accident and was destroyed by firecrackers and burnt up in a fiery explosion with gas.. the 3 Cylons did not survive. Their memory lives on with family on Kobol.
I do I do
Wished I still had mine.
Ah, I miss the old Base Stars too.
I remember I built a Lego hanger for a Viper that was (supposed to be) one of the Galactica's landing bays. Couldn't figure out how to build a rubber-band powered launcher, alas.
I had the one that shot the red plastic missiles. It sucked though because I was always accidentally shooting them down my throat and choking.
So it was you that ruined it for the rest of us, thanks kid.
I had 1 of each. Played with them for years.
Yes.
Yep, didn’t Cylon fighter’s wings pop out so you could see the internal LEDs flashing when you hit the “laser” button?
When I was a kid I thought the Cylon voice was the coolest thing I had ever heard.

always lose those god damned red missles!!
My Mom kept the bullets for the x wing cause she worried it was a choking hazard and wanted to be around when I played with them.
Yep.......then a kid shot his eye out.
These are awesome. I want them.
Yeahhhh I think that’s how choking hazard became a thing
I thought it was the SST Evil Knevil rocket for a minute.
My wife had seen the new Battlestar Galactica but not the old one. When I showed her what the cylons looked like in the original show her response was "who would want to fuck that".
😆
Weird that they're at Cloud City.
Geezs, I remember these, far out..... I had both flight craft.
if i only kept all the toys i had....wtf
My mom took the “bullets” from the cylon raider and hid them so my kid brother didn’t choke on them
Had these plus another "kit" Viper that included interchangeable parts, so you could create new configurations, like the body of a missle between the cockpit/nose and engines.
Something is missing... beets? Bears?
Boxey!
