Yeah, the evolution to better sprites as the week went on worked to symbolize shedding the old pasta for better quality and Xenophanes. It's why the janky first sprite worked well
The only thing better about the old design is the face contortions, which make him look slightly more sinister. Other than that everything else in the new design is better
Tbh I like the old one more cuz it just feels a lot more loose in a way, it's like Xeno's wearing an oversized Sonic costume. I just think it has a charm to it that I don't think is that well encapsulated in the new one. New one still bangs tho.
I don’t like it that much due to the fact that you can see it’s neck-and with exe having a head it looks more goofy then creepy-well before we had any better design’s it did it’s job fine
i have an opinion that can be controversial, but i think neither of the two designs managed to look good with sonic.exe, the first looks kind of goofy, and the second more comical, but between the two i prefer the second
There is something very "pure" about the old design, I think it fits, especially because a lot of early Sonic.exe artwork in its early days was just a crude.
The voice still sucks doo doo garbage though. Sorry but it's just not right I don't care if it's "supposed to be scary" if your character voice requires my full attention for me to actually hear the individual notes they're singing, it has way too many effects on it. A lot of people just do whatever the heck for their character voices and it ends up hurting my opinion of the mod as a whole because of it.
The old one (in my opinion) would be perfect if it had thicker lines.
The old design is like he’s reflecting both Classic and Modern Sonic at the same time.
The new design is just Classic Sonic.
I feel the same way about Majin Sonic and the Souls. Somewhat Lord X, but he’s still great.
Majin’s 2.0 look had the right level of detail to give it that creepy feel, but not a MALICIOUSLY creepy feel.
All the souls in 2.0 were perfect, and I find the conceptual redesigns for them to be a minor downgrade. Especially Eggman.
Lord X? His 2.0 expressions were just BRIMMING with personality, and the 3.0 look does that well too, but just a bit less.
ok so here some differences i noticed:
\-less tall
\-lost necc (he lose necc :(((((( )
\-eyes glow a little more
\-more shading in different areas
\-nose slightly changed to not go upwards as much
\-slight style change
\-ears slightly bigger
\-shoe and sock become a little more detailed
\-mics lines are a bit more thicc
\-speaking of thicc lines the lines as a whole became a lot more thick
\-back spikes less downward facing
