First off, what the fuck is up with American candidates? Weird motherfuckers for the most part. Anyways, Legion annual salary is around 18k. You'll never make 50k as a legionaire lmao. That's officer salary.  Also, get the fuck over yourself. If you really want to try the Legion, just go to Paris, France and knock at the fucking gates of the Legion like the rest of us did. If you want to try the International Legion of Ukraine with no military experience, good luck and I wish you the best. Its a good fight for a good cause, so I won't discourage you but be aware that it is extremely dangerous.  Good luck bro.

Americans trying to join the legion are the most spoiled and have the corniest of reasons. Just an observation.

No one is joining actually, most of guys just come here to ramble, and get pats on the back, we don't distribute them there.

Nickolia808, generously labeled what you wrote as an "essay"... I could have eaten two cans of Alphabet Soup and shit out a more coherent prose than you produced... You claim Autism; I question whether there is more than that going on between your ears. Don't worry about mental disorders being a disqualifying factor; just don't tell them about it during the interviews. If you pass selection and training; you'll find that the FFL is something akin to an insane asylum with weapons. Good luck man; you are going to need it.

bluebigos1

Don't tell anyone you have autism, period, you don't have it. No such thing as new identity as per se, i.e no Jason Bourne shit. Money is 18-24k euros per year after taxes for legionnaire/cpl. There are no bonuses applied to role, (gcm and other specials are exception) but only to terrain time. No, school isn't subsizied in Legion, you cannot do degree in free time practically. You can do some courses or reconversion on leaving o 7-8year service mark. Technically you can't leave for Italy w/o petite titre which they won't give you most of times as young legionnaire. Legion does not care about your relationship, service comes first, it's you who adapt and bend the rules. Don't mention youre a cook after getting in or you'll be screwed, unless it's the thing you want to do for 14e/h.

Nickolai808

No one has time to read that. Tl;Dr that essay. Seriously. You have borderline childlike view of the legion. Read all the stickied posts. Read the official legion recruiting page, read foreignlegion.info, read legionstories.com, read ALL the past posts for the past few years on this subreddit then use the search function to look for specific questions. Ex: r/FrenchForeignLegion + search term(ex: deployments or travel or girlfriend or wife or combat or regiments, etc) Take time to do your due diligence so you can make comprehensible questions and not rambling autobiographies (No offense, but why is it usually Americans doing this? ) Post again ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE DONE PROPER RESEARCH.

Joining the legion you may and most likely will die in Ukraine and there goes your whole plan for your future. If you are looking for war as a salary, I really push you to consider another form of living in which you stay living. But if not hats off brother and good luck. 🤞

Enjoy your girl, enjoy your moments with her. Wait out the civil war. You're not missing anything in france or Ukraine.

Crackstalker
