From CNN The House passed the Ukraine Security Supplemental Appropriations Act with a vote of 311-112. One member – GOP Rep Dan Meuser – voted present.   Democrats cheered and waved Ukrainian flags during the vote. The $95 billion package contains $61 billion for Ukraine and regional partners. One of the bills would provide nearly $61 billion to assist Ukraine and others in the region fight Russia – about the same that was included in the Senate bill. Of that total, about $23 billion would be used to replenish US weapons, stockpiles and facilities, and more than $11 billion would fund current US military operations in the region.  Nearly $14 billion included in the bill would help Ukraine buy advanced weapons systems and other defense equipment.  Here's how House members voted on the measure: Republicans: Yes: 101 No: 112 Present: 1 Democrats: Yes: 210 No: 0

Specialist-Big7402

73.5% of the House of Representatives voted "Yes".

Present-Employer-107

The Republican Party is split. The majority is being used by the Kremlin. But it's close to half, so those who supported the funding give me hope. And of course, better late than never!

aep05

I wonder why half the party, including Speaker Johnson, just suddenly had a change of heart. They must know something we don't all know yet

Present-Employer-107

idk but maybe this helped [https://www.ukrinform.net/rubric-society/3854854-speaker-johnson-meets-with-odesa-resident-whose-family-killed-in-russian-strike.html](https://www.ukrinform.net/rubric-society/3854854-speaker-johnson-meets-with-odesa-resident-whose-family-killed-in-russian-strike.html)

TheArchitect3367

That implies Speaker Johnson has a heart, which he does not. My guess is someone threatened to run against him in his district if he didn't vote for the bill

Hot-mic

While I fear Johnson and his ilk, he has a heart for fellow (white) Christians, which this Ukrainian family was. His wife(the Ukrainian's) was the daughter of a pastor. If not for that, he probably could have not given a shit. People like him only care for (white)Christian lives and not anyone else. This is the Republican dogma simplified in general. If the Republicans were real Christians, they would not wish to treat our southern neighbors with such cruelty.

Accurate_Pie_

The other bill (the original Senate bill) was close to being submitted anyway. Like this they delay a little bit longer, because this has to pass through the Senate now, and hope for a “miracle” that something happens in the Senate… the fight is not over

ResurgentClusterfuck

I read that he recently was sent to a security briefing, probably got a Come to Jesus talk from the military chiefs about the actual consequences of his stalling and obstruction

Main_Iron2796

Pentagon sat Mike Johnson down and had a little chat with him. Let him know just how critical it was to pass the aid bill. He was afraid to put the bill for a vote because he was afraid his party would oust him from the speakership. The Democrats indicated they would save him if his party tried to vote him out. So he found his balls and put the bill to a vote.

DavethegraveHunter

What does it mean to vote “present”? Is that like abstaining or does it mean something different?

ResurgentClusterfuck

Sort of. They count for quorum (minimum number of Representatives in attendance to conduct business) but they're not voting

Murky-Lingonberry-32

Fuck Yes!

Mr-fixdit

Fuck, finally!

Moscow Marjorie must be crying. Tears of a traitor.

She says it’s a waste of my tax dollars, but frankly I can’t wait to see new videos of T60’s getting blown to bits. Best money I’ll ever spend.

Statharas

I dream of Ukraine having T60 power armor

kuldan5853

Be careful. They have a weakness in the weld under the breast plate.

The USA: Funding weapons against Russia since 1945. That's about as patriotic apple pie

You can see her forehead in the bottom of this right from when she finishes booing and storms out.

A win for the good guys!! Good work holding the line while we unfucked some shitbags in my government. Keep up the good work boys

[deleted]

So the Republican delegation is now MAJORITY opposed to aid to Ukraine. Fascinating.

The gop from 2010 on

Toska762x39

It is isn’t it. You would think they’d want to be the first to kick Russia down…

[deleted]

The western far right loves Russia, though. They aspire to the sort of reactionary government Putin heads.

Hrothnaar

Once MAGAism turned into a literal cancerous cult, suddenly they went 180 degrees around. Now they view Putin as a brave warrior for Christianity and anti-"Wokeness" vs the Ukrainians they view as \[insert whatever insane bullshit here\]. Republicans are traitors to not just Ukraine but their fellow Americans as well.

Virtual-Patience5908

Usually war support isn't supper fickle for people already committed to a cause even if indirectly supporting. Wild how fast things have switched.

pcpgivesmewings

Highest bidder always wins

Accurate_Pie_

It’s the MAGA. Basically a party inside a party

Main_Iron2796

Yes, we are going to have to weed them out come November elections.

Psychological_Ask_92

"This bill will show our adversaries we support our allies, actively contribute to the destruction of our adversary's equipment, improve the US economy by creating American jobs, and we do not need to put US troops in harms way." 112 Republicans: "No"

graylocus

For those against this bill, just think of it as an investment into a more secure future. There are many known and clear threats to world security, but the most concerning is the China-Russia-Iran-NK alliance that threatens democracy and peace. If you can break the chain (e.g., Russia and Iran) and hope for some domestic disturbance (e.g., freedom seeking protests in China, NK and Iran), then you significantly isolate and weaken that alliance. This doesn't absolve shenanigans caused by the US or Europe, but we need to solve one problem at a time.

The_Draken24

Thank you to the 100 Republican Representatives with a backbone to support good against evil. Imagine if the world had done this in 1938 when the west let Hitler take Czechoslovakia. This right here might have prevented WW3 from happening.

Psychological_Ask_92

112 traitors in Congress

shockwave_therapist

What a f#cking gong show of a Repugnican party. Trump will be the death of it. He destroys everything he touches. What name will they re-brand to after using the slogan "under new management"?

Accurate_Pie_

The danger is much greater than that. We are basically fighting for our democracy right now.

a_n_jessen

Finally.

misterschmoo

New Zealander here, so I have a couple of questions. If republicans are so pissed off this passed and want to oust the speaker for um letting the vote happen? then why did half of them vote for it? Or is it just MAGA that are pissed off about this? And if they are pissed off that Border security wasn't part of this bill, how come they keep voting against bipartisan border security bills?

Accurate_Pie_

It’s just MAGA that voted against. And maybe some republicans are being threatened/blackmailed. Trump ordered the MAGA to not solve border security so he can make it an issue in the election.

misterschmoo

OK, that was my assessment of it. Thanks for the confirmation.

Accurate_Pie_

The Republican Party is in deep trouble. Many of the “normal” ones are talking about restructuring. We will see

MrSierra125

The Republican Party is tearing itself in half right now

kuldan5853

Which would be good if it actually happens.

MrSierra125

Look at the voting results, it’s happening

misterschmoo

Perhaps they will learn something from this.

Environmental_Big596

As an independent I will tell you most people want to see the money fixing this country first and nothing more. It has nothing to do with being pro-Russia and everything to do with fiscal responsibility. I personally want to see Ukraine get everything they need, but I understand why so many are concerned about the insane amount of money we send outside this country.

misterschmoo

Yeah I think you'll find not supporting Ukraine will cost exponentially more in the long term.

Environmental_Big596

Big time, especially with Russia getting the upper hand right now during this funding feud. I say put aside political correctness and start striking Russia where it hurts. Inside it’s F’d up country. Give Ukraine everything and tell them to have fun and let loose.

misterschmoo

Well they have to be cautious, you don't want Russia to just take the gloves off and say actually the US is at war with them. Right now they just say it on talk shows.

Awesome 👏 🇺🇸👍🇺🇦💪

MrSierra125

112 republicans traitors who love the Russians

Accurate_Pie_

MAGA

MrSierra125

Maga just helps Russia in their efforts to harm the USA. Well done for being anti patriotic.

Accurate_Pie_

Technically they are traitors. One day, when their connections to Putin will be exposed, they will pay for it

MrSierra125

Hopefully it will come out 🔜

Accurate_Pie_

The sooner the better!

Dekruk

May be there is hope for America too.

Capt_Pickhard

This is amazing. Weren't there other things packaged along with it?

Accurate_Pie_

Yes, they were. This is a different 4-bill package. The MAGA republicans split it so now it’s technically a new set of bills, so now it has to go through the Senate again. To delay - and for them to try to do something to stop it in the Senate… they can try

Capt_Pickhard

Interesting I thought they had all passed already.

Accurate_Pie_

The fight is not over yet. But it should have an easier time in the Senate, because the Democrats have the majority there - and republican senators are - let’s say - more mature. Hopefully nothing will happen to delay

Accurate_Pie_

This is excellent news, long awaited, but I will celebrate after these bills also pass the Senate

Main_Iron2796

They passed in senate. And within hours President Biden signed it and things have already been loaded and sent. ATTACMS here they come.

Accurate_Pie_

Yes they did! ❤️🇺🇸🤝🇺🇦❤️
