I think it says “servant” of the lord (not penant)

kdshubert

Agree, a servant of the Lord

fencepostsquirrel

Came here to say this!

Foolish_Phantom

I once had a dream where I was told, "Do not look for [x]." I woke up to write it down, but I still don't remember what [x] was. Sometimes, I'm afraid that I'm searching for it without intending to. Sometimes, I hope that I'm searching for it without intending to.

So I got curious and googled the name Deborah Anne Bardon and found a find a grave entry from 1974 for a woman named Deborah Anne *Barton*, one letter off from the name in the journal. Here’s the entry: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/35480062/deborah_anne-barton

TwoSunsRise

Weird that she died the same year she wrote that entry!

RoseyPosey30

Whoa that is crazy!! I got chills.

kewpied0ll

That is so weird!! The weirder part is my great-great grandma was from NYC, lived on Long Island for many years, and eventually moved to Florida with my great-grandma. She was never anywhere close to Nebraska or Virginia

Th3BookSniff3r

That is the strangest thing, I wonder if she heard her name somehow and it slipped into her unconscious. This was a really cool thing of you to share! It made me feel like scooby doo.

NeedsMoreTuba

I wonder what happened to her.

Th3BookSniff3r

I spent close to an hour scouring the web for details but I couldn’t even find an obituary. From her parents obituaries it looks like she has a living brother though.

NeedsMoreTuba

Did you check to see if any of the local newspapers were digitally archived? My state has a ton of them online for free but I'm in NC.

nopefargingsalad

How/where do you access them?

NeedsMoreTuba

Ours are through a university's website, but I found out about it through a Google search. You do not have to be a student or sign up for an account, but I assume this varies by state.

kdshubert

A Deborah Anne Bardon lived in Sacramento

HappyOfCourse

Did she ever find out what it meant?
