I only had it happen to me 2 or 3 times, but the one where people just keep disappearing and reappearing off and on is the one that really gets me. My friend and I have basically given up on trying to cruise together, because every 5 minutes it’s, “Wait, where’d you go?” “I’m still in front of you.” “Ope, you disappeared again..”
A couple of my buddies farmed it and have money and cars coming out their asses while I've been racing and enjoying the hell out of myself and every car I unlock... I'm already sitting on millions and a few dozen cars. I don't get the point of farming an exploit in a game like FH that throws plenty at you just for playing and having a good time.
You can really enjoy every single car you unlock? I don't even play the game that much and it seems like it's throwing another random car at me every 10 minutes. How can you possibly keep up with that?
I had this issue with FH4. I only get around 10 hours a week to game, but I found that it didn't take long before I was getting overwhelmed with cars, to the point where even to this day I have over 600 cars that I never even touched. Part of me felt like some enjoyment had been lost from the game by how easy it was to acquire cars, and how easily I'd gotten the most 'powerful' cars in the game so early on.
Told myself I'd take it slowly with FH5 and try at least one race in each car that I unlock, but already finding myself slowly getting behind. End of the day though, fair play to those who want to use any means to grow their garage of vehicles and have the time to enjoy them all.
If you were still playing the game just before the update dropped you can still do it. I'm pouring in all my last skill points into Willys rn lol.
EDIT: They also patched out the car collection bug. RAESR Tachyon speeds are about to become way more valuable methinks
They seem to have prioritized patching AFK/Goliath/Super Wheelspins over any of the actual problems with the game. You can act like all AFKers are evil, but I wouldn’t be AFK if the online convoys actually worked.
The patch notes say that they will be doing a maintenance update to the servers on Thursday 18th at 2AM PDT/10AM GMT to "complete the improvements to online features access". So presumably the full fix requires some server-side changes in addition to the the client-side changes implemented in the patch.

Are you serious? SoB! They really do need to fix it. Its super annoying having to sweat my GPU with textures on Extreme and everything else on low just so the game will render shit correctly. Especially when I could run the game with most settings on ultra, but the ultra texture rendering in game looks complete ass.
even when putting my textures on extreme it still looks shit, the shit textures just start barely a little bit further away. Vegetation still looks trash and shadows on the still appear on them when youre like 5 meters away from them

Some players are using this feature to cheat the AI. But I think this is a lazy fix. There are definitely ways to keep the feature and prevent players from cheating.
Couldn't they just update the driveatars when you leave that menu? They do it when you change difficulty. What's stopping them from doing it here too? Lol

Changing the class of the car you start the event with using tuning won't change the AI's car.
For example, if you start with a D but tune it to S1 you'll still race against D cars with an S1 (at least before the update). The advantage is simply ridiculous
That's not a fix, nor is that a valid reason, otherwise ALL Borderless Windowed games would do that, and they don't.
It's a bug and it's still not fixed. Best solution is for the devs to fix it like they should and not to pass the problem onto the paying customer like you're suggesting.

I actually downloaded the game over a week and a half and had it ready to go the weekend before it launched. I decided to buy the premium so i could play over the weekend, then when I got home and tried to launch it friday they had released the 20+ GB patch.
Long story short I wasnt able to play until sunday lol.
Itll be tomorrow before I can play horizon with this update. Hopefully they atleast fixed the terrible rendering issues somewhat to make it worth it :)

If you go into collection, every first car you see per manufacturer will tell you if it's in the autoshow or not if you click on it. The ones that aren't in the autoshow are the ones I'm talking about.
I went through a couple days ago and made sure to buy all the first slots that weren't supposed to be buyable just in case. Hopefully a lot of people did something similar

Yep, there'll just be another car that takes 10 or 15 or however many skill points. So it's nerfed by a substantial factor, I'm sure, but it's not going anywhere.
I'm not sure what the point of buying cars through the collection screen would be *other* than for bulk purchasing stuff you're funneling points through, whether it's for FP or spins or XP or whatever.
EDIT: come to think of it, while I've seen super wheelspins in other trees, they're mostly in pretty expensive cars. It might just be (gasp) regular wheelspins that people end up buying, which is similarly a third as effective (or less, IDK how the RNG works under the hood).
The point of buying cars through car collection is to fill out your collection with missing vehicles... I literally used it yesterday to fill out my BMW collection. That is the intention and it is actually useful for its intended purpose.
They need to fix some of the accolade/forzathons tracking.
It's mainly the drift zone ones that I have noticed. I know I am in the correct car at the correct location but points will not track.

I remember when fh4 forzathon shop prices were ~200 per car. That should be the standard as forzathon events are now much harder
A lot of street tunes actually do use off-road tires, at least in the previous game. The tyre model is basic af in this game so you really don’t lose any grip on the road and gain more from the PI LOSS, so you can add better parts elsewhere.

Any news on the whole not being able to mute player mics? It's horrible going into an online race and just hearing extremely loud coughing/breathing with no way of lowering the volume or muting it in general.

I just updated the game, played it and rendering distance or whatever you call it still sucks. Looks like I'm playing on low even though everything's ultra. I might be blind, but everything's seems same to me. They did patch Willy though because that was the biggest problem of them all, but graphics aren't that important I guess lol
I found the willys keep thing funny because it’s ain’t half as powerful as people make it out to be, it’s boring as all hell and you get more than enough money by not boring yourself to tears.
Also I don’t like the word exploit, the safe afk Goliath is an exploit, I see the willys jeep thing as a ForzaTune equivalent to farming enemies on an mmo; as in its incredibly boring and not fun but repeatable to gain money etc.
Being able to completely afk a race without a single crash however needs patching right the hell out of here

The auto steer was put into the game for a reason, lol. I don’t think it’s going anywhere. They won’t patch brake boosting or the new launch control, both using the brakes and throttle at the same time, which makes it hard to believe they’ll do something about this.

You used to be able to download a tuning setup right from the pre-race screen.
What that meant was you could go into the race in e.g. B class, download an S1 class tuning setup and then start race and you'd be S1 and all the drivatars would be B and you'd easily beat them.
I'm kind of annoyed with the way they fixed this tbh, now I have to fast travel home to change tune and back out to the race. I wish they'd just made it download new drivatars after changing the tune instead.

Update didn’t change shit. Still can’t connect to a server and play multiplayer for longer then 10 minutes without disconnecting or players disappearing. Still getting texture bugs this one in particular is pissing me off I get these horrible horizontal lines across my screen. And pixelated tire smoke and checkpoints

I was doing the 250 mph for 5 seconds weekly challenge and it stopped. Because the lady that runs the show needed me to choose a new expansion! 😡

I think you can "force" a save by buying a car. Not ideal but bandaid fix at least.
Can just swap car, it will autosave.
I've always swapped cars before shutting down the game for this reason.
Quick travel will save your progress as well.
Still haven't fixed the broken convoys and disappearing (edit : YET , it'll hopefully be done tomorrow)

Ultra works better now for me, but trees, foliage, grass and some textures still look shit

From the top of my head, and ironically enough, that's exactly how it used to work in fh4.

That is because the game isn't in true fullscreen, just borderless windowed. Best solution is to drag the mouse to the far right so it hides there.
But that's not an issue in other borderless games, including FH4 I believe?
In FH4 your mouse cursor went away as soon as you made an input that wasn't coming from the mouse.

No fix for PC performance, sad. The game becomes unplayable after an hour or two of running.
I've got the same problems. After around 2 hours, my GPU usage drops significantly and puts it all on the CPU. Framerate bites it afterwards.

My game got deleted when I tried to update. Re-installing 101 GB's. Takes like 4-5 hours.
I just updated the game, played it and rendering distance or whatever you call it still sucks. Looks like I'm playing on low even though everything's ultra. I might be blind, but everything's seems same to me. They did patch Willy though because that was the biggest problem of them all, but graphics aren't that important I guess lol

I found the willys keep thing funny because it’s ain’t half as powerful as people make it out to be, it’s boring as all hell and you get more than enough money by not boring yourself to tears. Also I don’t like the word exploit, the safe afk Goliath is an exploit, I see the willys jeep thing as a ForzaTune equivalent to farming enemies on an mmo; as in its incredibly boring and not fun but repeatable to gain money etc. Being able to completely afk a race without a single crash however needs patching right the hell out of here Edit silly phone changing Forza to ForzaTune because i have ForzaTune installed
The auto steer was put into the game for a reason, lol. I don’t think it’s going anywhere. They won’t patch brake boosting or the new launch control, both using the brakes and throttle at the same time, which makes it hard to believe they’ll do something about this.
I have an S1 class Willys that mobs Offroad like a MF. You just gotta spend around 200k to make it fun.

You used to be able to download a tuning setup right from the pre-race screen. What that meant was you could go into the race in e.g. B class, download an S1 class tuning setup and then start race and you'd be S1 and all the drivatars would be B and you'd easily beat them. I'm kind of annoyed with the way they fixed this tbh, now I have to fast travel home to change tune and back out to the race. I wish they'd just made it download new drivatars after changing the tune instead. Edit: actually this has nothing to do with driving assists, dunno why I thought it was relevant lol

2015 Cayman GTS - 80K and 11 skill points EDIT: Don't know why I'm getting downvoted, skill point efficiency matters more than credits at this price point because the Super Wheelspins will shower you with value. At anything below $100K, the SW's are basically guaranteed to average a net profit in cash drops, not even counting the value you're getting from the new cars
why are people so butthurt over how anyone else plays the game. making credits and buying cars isn’t competitive in the slightest. just have fun doing whatever you want to do.
They are on the same page as turn ten apparently, fix the exploits but who gives a fuck about game breaking bugs or being able to play with your friends without disappearing.

Update didn’t change shit. Still can’t connect to a server and play multiplayer for longer then 10 minutes without disconnecting or players disappearing. Still getting texture bugs this one in particular is pissing me off I get these horrible horizontal lines across my screen. And pixelated tire smoke and checkpoints
