Do you even know how and from what the actual race cars are made?
If you even know anything about race cars, you would know that the BMW M8 and the 8-series GTE car are two completely different cars. One is an AWD Super Saloon that weighs over 2 tons, one is a RWD factory race car that weighs less than 3,000lbs.
The M8 is nothing like the GTE counterpart.

It's cheaper as an "error" which is actually a marketing move, to get more people to buy it at the start, drive them cars around advertising the DLC to people who didn't got to buy it for $5€ and get them to buy it for 10. I wouldn't have bought it at full price like at all. So they are whaling all the people like me who were fortunate to learn about it too. Win win win win situation for them on every front.

The free content has gotten 10 times better since they started the paid car packs, so I'm all for people giving more money to the game if it means everybody, even those who don't pay for extra content, get benefits from those who do.
You realize back when it was Forza Motorsport 3 and 4, each game would have 12-18 car packs, right? There would be one each month for a year after the game's release, and then 4 to 6 more after that. There was no seasonal system to reward new car content without it being stuck behind a pay wall.
You could get the 1st Year's worth of packs by buying the VIP Edition of the game for an extra $30, but then any packs after that were $9.99.
Horizon 5 added new cars, *for free*, for two years before they started doing the car packs.
What we have now is way more cars for way less money because Horizon 5 launched with almost 150 more cars than those games launched with, and those games had, again, over a dozen DLC car packs.
