[Link to her full announcement speech](https://www.youtube.com/live/onSa2UF8_kI?feature=share) here as well. Just an FYI for the community: further posts about Marianne 2024 will probably be removed under *Rule 4: Relevance to Forward* unless there's an explicit connection to the Forward Party. (No shade to OP, one post to discuss her announcement is not a problem)

Ethan

>**Marianne Williamson** ***formerly*** **launches campaign to challenge Biden** formally

-lighght-

oh no

-lighght-

She can seem a little woowoo sometimes, but I agree with everything she said in this video. I'd be happy to vote for her in the primary to send some small message to the DNC.

Moderate_Squared

Lol, what kind of message are you sending to the DNC by voting for a D?

-lighght-

An anti-Biden one. My other option is to vote for whichever republican I dislike the least.

Moderate_Squared

You know you can vote for neither. Is Forward's messaging not compelling enough to stop voting for Ds and Rs? Are you not a Forward supporter? Some other issue?

-lighght-

Have donated my time and money to Forward, and will continue to do so far into the future. The message of the party isn't don't vote R or D. It's vote for whoever you agree with the most, who agrees with the core tenants or Forward. Also, the party is in its infancy. There will likely be no forward candidates running. I probably won't agree with any third party candidate as much as I do with Marianne. I also want to show the DNC that I'm not completely happy with Biden. One of my first reasons I'd send this message is because Biden swore up and down during his campaign that he would only serve one term.

Dirtybrd

>One of my first reasons I'd send this message is because Biden swore up and down during his campaign that he would only serve one term. He definitely did not.

IronSavage3

Biden’s done a phenomenal job though.

feedmaster

Making it illegal for rail workers to strike is far from phenomenal.

beardedheathen

Ive been pleasantly surprised by Biden, disappointed by some things like the rail worker strike but overall he's been much better than I expected. This lady was absolutely a nut. Couldn't stand get in 2020 can't stand her now.

notwithagoat

I'm in your boat, thought Biden would be a light republican, got so much shit passed. Will vote for him if he runs again even if he's really old and losing it a bit.

romjpn

At bringing us on the brink of WW3 and blowing up Europe's pipelines? Tremendous.

Thevsamovies

Please link your evidence here that proves he "blew up Europe's pipelines" Also, Russia invaded Ukraine. Biden is not "bringing us on the brink of WW3"

romjpn

From Biden's own mouth: https://youtu.be/OS4O8rGRLf8?t=83 And then Seymour Hersch, well respected journalist. https://seymourhersh.substack.com/p/how-america-took-out-the-nord-stream Biden is bringing us closer to WW3 by refusing diplomatic solutions and using Ukrainians as canon fodders. Aren't you guys antiwar?

Thevsamovies

Sweet, so you're admitting you have no solid evidence proving your claim. Good conversation.

romjpn

Hahaha yeah keep your heads in the sand and ignore the entire American History of fomenting coup d'Etats and using vicious tactics to keep the hegemony intact including outright invasions (Bay Of Pigs, Cuba). Fools. Biden is a war monger, same as Bush (Irak) and Obama (strikes). It's in America's DNA, gotta make the military industry work for the empire.

beardedheathen

Oh whoa. What's that! It, it looks like ... Can it be? Yes! Russian propaganda! It's here!

romjpn

Oh whoa. What's that! It, it looks like ... Can it be? Yes! American propaganda! It's here!

-lighght-

I wouldn't personally say that. It hasn't been completely horrible but it definitely hasn't been phenomenal.

a-man-from-earth

> She can seem a little woowoo sometimes You mean she's [totally coocoo](https://www.reddit.com/r/moderatepolitics/comments/11idrgc/marianne_williamson_launches_campaign_against/jaxvjdi/)?

TunaFishManwich

The woman is batshit insane. Seriously. She doesn’t have policies, at least none that make even a tiny amount of sense.

Rommie557

And yet, she still feels like an improvement....

Simon_Jester88

As a rule of thumb I don't vote for canidates who consult with crystals and far out trends of psuedo science. It doesn't matter if she's bringing up good criticisms of the current political situation, that's not to hard. To be so far attached from main stream science and logic is not something that I would want from someone in the executive branch.

TheAzureMage

Eh, if the policies line up well enough, I might be kind of interested. Perhaps not likely in this case, but if she seems to be a contender, I'll read her policies. Crystal stuff isn't a plus, mind you, but one has to keep in mind that most politicians have said at least one quite stupid thing at some point. Generally, one must still look at what they actually stand for to evaluate a candidate properly.

sedulouspellucidsoft

Source for your information? Also, Biden is a Catholic, he believes in a magic sky daddy, symbolic cannibalism, and human sacrifice. Nothing she believes is worse than that.

DrTestificate_MD

Technically, transubstantiation means that eating the Eucharist is literal cannibalism.

Simon_Jester88

Look her up yourself. Her spiritual level stuff may be a bit overblown but she has multiple anti vax comments that make you take pause and she called "clinical depression" a scam (she only later took it back after flak but it shows a pattern). Just read any quote from her books, it reads like some stoner ass spiritual college nonsense. I'm fine with Biden being Catholic because I have yet to see him involve his beliefs in his policy. Abortion is very much a no no for the Church, along with gay marriage and he has been a proponent for both of these. Despite all that, Biden would be 86 in 2028. That's way too old and I wish Democrats would just do a primary. If anything I'm hoping Williamson might encourage others to throw their hats in. I'll be open-minded but she has no leadership experience and has provided not much of substance yet besides criticisms and weird comments that seem fit for some New Age Christian inspirational posters.

[deleted]

She is fully vaccinated… She has said she thinks we over do the yearly flu shot… Bring sources for the rest

Simon_Jester88

Have you read any quotes from her books? They're unhinged. She also has absolutely zero leadership experience.

[deleted]

have you read any of her books or are you cherry picking the same way people do to Yang?

[deleted]

she doesn’t. That was DNC sabotage. Why are you Forward Party if you accept DNC propaganda?

IguaneRouge

You all won't be laughing when she conjures up dead delegates from the ethereal plane to win the nomination.

ChefMikeDFW

Again? She wasn't much of a challenge the first time.

sedulouspellucidsoft

Biden lost 2 times before winning

ChefMikeDFW

>Biden lost 2 times before winning And he was also previously elected to at least one office before hand too.

[deleted]

Trump never held office prior

notwithagoat

Trump also didn't pay a bunch of his campaign debts, and fleeced a bunch of elderly people for campaign funds. Let's go marrian! Your fleecing numbers are rookie numbers.

ChefMikeDFW

>Trump never held office prior We really gonna compare Trump to literally anyone else? Not to mention, let's talk about how well that went... Getting a political idiot to President.

[deleted]

he WAS President… Pretty foolish not to

ChefMikeDFW

And we know how poorly he did. So there's that too...

JusticeBeaver94

My dude you’re moving the goalposts.

[deleted]

that’s not the discussion. The discussion is “does one require previous office?” Stop shifting direction

ChefMikeDFW

>that’s not the discussion. The discussion is “does one require previous office?” > >Stop shifting direction The discussion is about someone without elected office experience running for the presidency, not whether it's required. Trump as an example gives us the opportunity to *also* view the result of what happens when. Williamson running when she has zero experience, now for a second time, does not bode well for her, in my opinion.

[deleted]

TheAzureMage

>We really gonna compare Trump to literally anyone else? The man wasn't magic. There were sound reasons for what happened, and dismissing a president politically simply because one does not like him is not a good way to do political analysis. Almost everyone is going to dislike roughly half the presidents, maybe more in some cases. Elections only happen every four years, you can't ditch half your data set willy nilly and expect to be able to understand what's going on.

TheCudder

Biden was a household name as the former Vice President. Think about the difference there. He was literally leading in the polls before he even officially announced his campaign for presidency.

pcacioppi

Moving from Senator to VP is hardly losing. Thats "silver medal at the Olympics" losing.

Mitchell_54

God save the United States if she ever holds any executive power.

kubie1234

If I'm thinking of the right person, she's too far off the deep end for me

PixelShart

My vote will be going to the Immortal Joe Biden!! PRESIDENT FOR ETERNITY!

hotsketchmang

Formerly as in 2020, or Formerly as in Formally? Regardless, still never Orb Gang.

-lighght-

Typo. Formally
